Fifteen seconds to remember everything.

Already an impossible task, the encroaching haze made it tougher.

Fifteen years spent making it on my own.
Fourteen days of freedom.
Thirteen years since my parents died.
Twelve nights of heaven.

Four people who’d give anything.
Three tries to get it right.
Two hearts to mend.
One chance in sight.

Nearly fifty years of evidence had me willing to wager no one had ever laughed or cried harder than I had.

But this story wasn’t just mine.
It was ours.I have read and loved all of Laurel Ulen Curtis’ books, but I think A is for Alpha is one of my favorites.  Maybe it’s because I fell in love with Dan Smith, but it is also because I loved Alyson and Haley and the wonderful mother/daughter relationship that they had.  Accidental Alpha is Allyson’s story.  We get to see Allyson get another chance at love.

4 Star Review by Jen Skewes

I have read and loved all of Laurel Ulen Curtis’ books, but I think A is for Alpha is one of my favorites.  Maybe it’s because I fell in love with Dan Smith, but it is also because I loved Allison and Haley and the wonderful mother/daughter relationship that they had.  Accidental Alpha is Allison’s story.  We get to see Allyson get another chance at love.

The love of Allison’s life passed away many years ago, leaving her with two amazing kids who she loves more than anything.  Her son reminds her of her first love in so many ways.  And she has this close relationship with her daughter that most mothers and daughters wish they had.  Her two children are the most important people in her life.  She is loving, protective and nurturing when it comes to them.  But now is the time when Allison needs her children the most.  Before she faces what life has thrown her way she just needs two weeks, to spend time with her family before she drops the bomb on them.  So what better way to spend time with your family then a vacation on a cruise ship.

Wade is the one person in Danny’s life who has been like a father to him since his parents died.  He is in town visiting Danny and staying with Allison.  They met briefly when Allison and Haley went on their road trip.  And right now he is the only person that knows what Allison has been faced with and what she is going through.  There has always been this physical attraction between Allison and Wade but now that they are spending more time together it has become even stronger.  They finally give in to their want for each other but being together scares them both in so many ways.  It has been a long time since Wade has opened up to a woman and actually felt something for them.  Allison is faced with so many things right now she isn’t sure if she wants to stay in Wade’s comforting arms or run.  They both need to fight their fears and just give in to the pull that they feel.   They both want to try and see where it is all headed.  Wade understands better than anyone what she went through when her husband died.  And since he is the only one who knows her secret he is there for her in so many ways, which I think scares the both of them.  Will they be able to face their fears and admit to their feelings?

Allison is given some news that she must deal with but what this book is about is her journey to finding herself before accepting what she is about to face. It is about spending time with her family and needing them even if they don’t fully understand why.  This story is filled with so many laughs as would be expected from this crazy group of people.  Haley is still crazy Haley but now add Danny by her side and you have a whole new level of craziness, and I mean that in a good crazy kind of way.  Together they will make you laugh.  Allison and Haley are still closer than ever and I love seeing how much they are not only mother and daughter but friends.  Always there for each other no matter what the issue is.  I loved Wade.  He showed how sweet and caring he really is.  I love his relationship with Danny and how much of a father figure he was in his life, but Danny is also there for him when he needs it as well.

I really enjoyed this one.  I love that the characters are older.  Because let’s face it, sadly I am closer in age to Wade and Allison than I am to the hot young alpha males that I usually fall in love with.  Once again Ms. Curtis gave us the humor that I love from her mixed in with hot and sexy and sweet.  I love these characters and cannot wait for hunter’s story.  That is going to be an interesting one!
