Yield is the final book the Legal Affairs trilogy of Cal and Macy’s story. Clash and Grind, Books #1 and #2, are now available for purchase.
Yield Synopsis:
**Due to sexual content and heavy subject matter of an abusive nature, this book may not be suitable for all audiences. Yield (verb): to surrender or submit (oneself) to another Macy Carrington is broken. The strong, beautiful woman that I’ve unwittingly fallen in love with is all kinds of broken from a secret that she has carried for far too long. A secret so dark, she has gone to great lengths to protect it. A secret that I’m terrified will one day rip her away from me. The only time Macy frees herself from the darkness is when she is naked and in my arms. When I am deep inside her body, there is nothing she fears. When she wraps herself around me, she is at peace. If she would only yield to me completely, I know I can set her free.Goodreads Link: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/25184992-yield
4.5 Star Review by Jen Skewes
Yield is the final installment in Cal and Macy’s story and I
have to say that I am sad to see them go.
I loved this series and while the first two were very HOT and sexy I
think this one is more about the emotion. And yes we did see the emotion in book two and we saw these two characters push each other to their limits in ways that they didn't ever imagine but in Yield we finally get the answers that we have been waiting for. And after reading the
first two books in this series you just knew that it was going to be an
emotional journey when Macy finally opens up her heart and we find out exactly
why it has been closed off for so long.
Call and Macy seemed like an unlikely pair when first
meeting them. Macy was more of a sex
only kind of girl who never had sex with the same guy more than once. Cal on the other hand was a relationship guy
who wanted a family one day. But when
they first get together the chemistry between them just exploded and when it
was over they were both left wanting more.
Macy and Cal had been doing well, and Macy seemed to be moving on from
her past and opening up little by little until her world came crashing down at
the end of Grind. And now Yield picks up
exactly where we left off. Macy’s father and the family business are about to go under and her father is facing jail time. And Macy’s biggest fear may just come true. Her secret that she has been hiding for years
may come out. So the only thing she
knows how to do right is push people away, starting with Cal. But Cal loves this woman and will do anything
to protect her and show her how much he loves her. And boy does he. The length he goes to protect her speaks
volumes. No matter what it takes he will
do it.
I won’t go into to detail about the storyline itself, so not
to give anything away. But in this final
installment we finally get to see exactly what happened to Macy. While I may have had my suspicions I still
wasn’t prepared for what really happened.
Macy was so ashamed of what happened and thought she was broken because
of it and therefore pushing the one person she loved away. But thank God for Cal and his deep love for
this woman. He proved over and over
again how much she meant to him and that he wasn’t just going to let her
go. But it wasn’t just in his actions,
you felt his love in his words to her. Cal is just one of those guys who is
sweet and sexy all in one and an overall amazing man.
This book was about trust and emotions and learning to put
the past behind and learn to live life rather than just survive it. Macy deserved to find happiness but she was
the one who needed to believe that. I loved
Macy so much. I admired her for her
strength and loved how she fought in the end.
I loved watching her grow so much from the beginning until the very
end. She learns to open up to love and
to Cal. There were moments in this book
that completely touched me and some of them were just the little things. Cal’s family and they way they made Macy feel
safe, to Matt and Cal being able to move past their differences.
This story is told in Cal’s point of view which I loved and
we get to see bit of Macy’s side but the way Ms. Bennett gives us her thoughts
was done just perfectly. This book is
filled with emotion, sexiness and a wonderful love story. We saw two people who seemed to have a mutual
dislike for each other fall hard. We
felt the chemistiry between them but also the love and emoatin. Even if the words weren’t spoken you felt
it. We saw them push each other limits
and saw them both open up to each other.
This was one heck of a roller coaster ride but one that I just loved. And
the epilogue was perfect!!
