Ruby Russo’s life is a nightmare. She’s the only daughter of one of the most influential men in Las Vegas. It comes with a price… constantly being forced to be a pawn in her father’s game. She escapes for the evening to the only place she’s ever found solace but learns that she’s not alone.

Review by Lisa Kane

Three years ago Pierce Kelly was in Vegas with his friends. He was in a funk and not feeling the Vegas vibe. He climbed up to the rooftop to get some quiet. But he wasn't the only one. A beautiful young girl was there. Two lost souls sharing the quiet. They shared a conversation and some chemistry. She was wrapped in a blanket and quietly shared her dreams. But their time together was cut short and Pierce had only a blanket as evidence of her existence. He looked for her, but he didn't even know her name.

Ruby is suffocating under the weight of her family's orders. Her life is far from her own. But Pierce made her feel that she could have a life and escape her from her family. But that was cut short by reality.

I want to live in the fantasy world where there was a connection between us and I saw a sliver of hore for a normal life.

Three years later Ruby seeks out and finds Pierce. She knew where he was, he never had that luxury. But would he remember her? Did she have the right to want him to? He's probably moved on. Wrong. He has never forgotten his "Angel." He never knew her name but in his head, Angel is how he thinks of her. When he sees her again, he is shocked but resolves she will never get away again.

"I don't want to have to wait for me to be normal because I don't know if I'll ever be that girl."

But Ruby has deep dark secrets and there is danger that will follow. Can Pierce handle the truth about her past? The two share a connection that they are unaware of and her family's sinister life are still a threat. Truths will come up, lives will be changed but will love prevail?

"But it also takes just one person to make you realize that all you have to do is spread your wings, and even if you take a nosedive, he'll be there to lift you up again and help you soar to places you've only ever dreamed about."

EXCERPT

Ruby’s tongue darts out and moistens her lips before she nods, her nose rubbing against my own and igniting a fire so deep in my stomach I didn’t even know it existed. “I want to, but I also think you need to know what you’re getting yourself into. I’m a little crazy sometimes.”
Never in my life has a woman had this kind of pull on me and never in my life did I think I’d love the feeling so much. I swear she could tell me anything and I’d just go with it.
I lean in so our lips are barely touching. “Crazy, baby?”
“Yes, crazy,” she agrees, whispering just as quietly as I am.
Her hands tighten even more and I slide mine up from the chair on either side of her into her hair. She’s the one who slides her tongue into my mouth, and I let her take a minute to explore, to get used to the only mouth she’s ever going to kiss again. I match her strokes with my own and when I feel like I’m going to tear a hole in my jeans, I regretfully pull my head back … but not before I take her lower lip between my teeth and get one last taste.
“It’ll be crazy good, angel,” I tell her.
