Synopsis:
It’s the end of summer. Just before I start senior year with my two best friends in the whole world. Dustin and Emily are everything to me. We’ve been inseparable since middle school, and when we’re together, nothing can go wrong.
But things aren’t always what they seem. Em’s turned into a drunken mess who parties too much. Dustin and I have hooked up a few times―and now he’s ready to take our relationship to the next level. Yet I’m not sure I want things to change. I’m scared if I take it any further with Dustin, our friendship will be ruined forever. Then there’s Ryan. The new guy. He’s hot. He flirts way too much. And Em has totally set her sights on him.So when my best friend betrays me in the worst possible way, guess who’s there to help me pick up the pieces of my broken heart? Ryan. But he’s so confusing. Annoying. Sweet. Sexy. I want to trust him, yet he makes it so hard. What I really want is for everything to go back to the way it was before.
Before I found out that best friends make the worst kind of enemies.

Dustin likes Olivia. Olivia's best friends with Emily. Who wants Dustin. But will settle for vodka and weed. And backstabbing. Amanda's ex Thad cheated on her. She likes Tuttle now. He's a manwhore. Ryan's friends with Tuttle. Emily hooks up with Ryan. Ryan wants Olivia. Is your head spinning around yet?
"So you two hooked up."My voice is flat. My emotions, my heart, my everything is...flat. Unfeeling. A mess. I'm a riotous mess inside and I'm trying my best to keep my cool.
"It was nothing." She waves a hand.
"You and Dustin had-sex."
Just Friends is chock full hook ups, drugs, partying, gossiping and cheating. Think Mean Girls on steroids. These are seniors determined to get through their last year of high school doing the last amount of work while having the most amount of fun. Loyalty is scarce, underwear is optional and alcohol is a necessity. They have lying while smiling down to a science. I would just start to like one character and then they would do something that would make my lips crinkle up and boom-take them off my list. The only problem is the list of likable characters is short.
"Do you really say that to all the girls you've been with?" Amanda asks when the blonde is gone. "That they just gave you the best blowjob of your life?"
Tuttle shrugs, looking completely at ease. The little argument didn't faze him one bit. "Yeah, probably. I'll say pretty much anything when a girl lets me come in her mouth."
Of course the ending is a full blown cliffy. One guy in particular Ryan, I kept giving him chances. Now I'm thinking maybe I shouldn't have. Hmm...and Tuttle...same for him. Okay, give me the sequel so I can find out who deserves to get their butts kicked and who should skip off happily for now. (or least skip to the mall armed with their parents' credit cards)
A secret isn't a secret when more than one person knows about it.
