Blog Tour: Dear Bridget I Want You by Penelope Ward and Vi Keeland

Dear Bridget,

I’m writing this letter because it’s highly doubtful I’ll ever garner the courage to say this to your face.

So, here goes.

We’re totally wrong for each other. You’re the proper single mum with a good head on your shoulders. I’m just the carefree British doctor passing through town and temporarily living in your converted garage until I head back to England.

But here’s the thing… for some bloody reason, I can’t stop thinking about you in very inappropriate ways.

I want you.

The only reason I’m even admitting all of this to you right now is because I don’t believe it’s one-sided. I notice your eyes when you look at me, too. And as crass as I appear when we’re joking around about sex, my attraction to you is not a joke.

So, what’s the purpose of this note? I guess it’s a reminder that we’re adults, that sex is healthy and natural, and that you can find me just through the door past the kitchen. More specifically, it’s to let you know that I’m leaving said door cracked open from now on in case you’d like to visit me in the middle of the night sometime.

No questions asked.

Think about it.

Or don’t.

Whatever you choose.

It’s doubtful I’ll even end up sliding this letter under your door anyway.

If the Publisher Clearing House folks were knocking at my door, and I was reading a Ward/Keeland book, that thousand dollars a day for life, yeah they would have to wait until tomorrow. Nothing, and I mean nothing, is coming before these two authors and anything they write!
Bridgett Valentine is catching hell. Actually, it’s her butt that is catching hell. While attempting to teach her son how to cast a fishing line, she hooked the hook in her butt. Being a nurse, she knows when something is outside the scoop of her capabilities-this little dilemma-yep, it’s outside. Or rather inside her buttocks.
The attending doc in the ER is a gorgeous grown up version of Doogie Howser. (please say you are old enough to know who he is) And he’s British to boot. No way is this guy going to be seeing her ass, especially as she has her Tuesday panties on and it’s Friday. Something that Dr. LooksSoGood can’t help but remark on-
“Your knickers. It’s Friday. They say Tuesday. I was wondering if you’d been wearing them for three days or just got your days of the week mixed up.”
Seems Dr. Simon Hogue has quite the sense of humor. So let’s see; he’s a hot resident, smart, witty and skilled. Um…what’s not to love.? Jump on this woman!
Bridgett is all about work and being a good mom to Brendan, her 8-year-old son. Her husband Ben died unexpectedly a couple of years ago. There’s been no one since and she really doesn’t have a lot of opportunity to jump back out there. Even if she wanted to do any jumping. Which she doesn’t. He’s 29 (she interrogated him, when he first came in the room) She’s pushing 35 and has a kid. He wouldn’t be interested anyway.
After she’s all stitched up, there’s no reason to linger.
“Take care now. Watch your back, Bridgett. Or rather, your backside. “
“Wait,” I blurted out.
He stopped and turned around. “Yes?”
A piece of his blond hair had fallen into his eyes. He was so handsome.
I cleared my throat. “I’m sorry if I was…”
“A pain in the arse?”
My cheeks felt hot. “Yes.”
“No worries.” He winked.
Three months later, Bridgett helps out her friend Calliope, who is trying to find a place for her best friend to live for a few months. Just until he’s done his residency and goes back to England. Hmm…I sense a close encounter of the third kind coming my way!
Yep, the best friend is Simon, and it seems Bridgett is the new landlord!
Dear Bridgett is funny and sexy and has just the right amount of angst to keep my engines revved. Now this is a Ward and Keeland collaboration so you know there’s going to be that moment when you are laughing while holding that Kindle, lulled into a word coma, just easing back in that lounger. Thinking I am loving this book. And then….boom! I had to read that paragraph again. Huh? Say what? Yeah, thanks ladies. Dying over here…
“You’re not enough, Bridgett.”
My heart was racing-where does this evil duo-the Cruella DeVils of the written word-come up with these storylines? Delicious! The angst slut in me was doing the Happy Dance!
I devoured this book like it was Get a free slice of cheesecake day at the Cheesecake Factory. This is one of those books that’s going to end up being one for the re-read pile. You know when you want comfort food for your eyes and you don’t want to start a new book, you want what you know works. Yep, add this one to that short list of go-to’s.

“You can’t write a new story for your life when you won’t let new characters in.”
