Review: Fading Into Nothing by Kelly Moore

Tagline

You never know what lies beneath the surface of our souls until you’re fighting to exist.

My life is at a stand still as I watch it all fade by. It’s the most beautiful, and yet, tragic thing I’ve ever seen. I lost everything, and I mean everything. But a single moment can change who we are. It can make or break you.

When Will Taylor sits down next to me, he totally derails my plans. His cocky assurance makes me laugh, and he begins to make me hope.

Now, I measure my life minute by minute and I cherish every moment with him, because I know it won’t last long. Nothing ever does for me.

Will Taylor wants me.

Will Taylor loves me.

But will he keep me from Fading Into Nothing, or will I be left to save myself?

This is the first book that I have read by Author Kelly Moore and this will not be my last.  Fading Into Nothing was an emotional read that dealt with some heavy issues.  From the prologue alone I was completely sucked in.  It was intense and so real.  I knew from that moment I this book would be one that was filled with emotions, but I never expected the twist that completely took my by surprise!!

Maggie has had a rough life.  When her mother passed away when she was young it was just her and her brother trying to survive.  They didn’t have much but that had each other, all though I am not sure that that was the best for them.  Maggie has rented a place to spend her summer.  On the train ride there she meets Will, someone who she instantly connects with.  She has never been on a train before but sitting next to Will eased her mind.  When he invites het to come with him to his parents house for a few days she decides to ay the heck with it and take him up on his offer.  She has never been one to be so spontaneous but there is something about Will that makes her feel comfortable and safe.   Should she trust her instincts when it comes to Will?  Is this where she really belongs, with Will?  Will this be where she finds her happiness?  You will have to read the book to find out.

I really enjoyed this book and love Will and Maggie together.  From the moment the met I felt the connection.  Maybe it was a bit fast and you wonder why would Maggie go home with a complete stranger.  But I admit there was something about Will and it was as if these two knew each other for years.

Will was sweet and kind and I felt for him and what he has been through.  Maggie has been through so much in her life and seeing her happy with Will just made you happy for her.  I loved everything about their relationship.

This story was emotional at times but never too overwhelming considering the topic.  There was a twist that Ms. Moore snuck in that complete surprised me.  I never saw it coming.  Even at the end I was still trying to figure out how I felt about it.  lol  I loved the book and look forward to reading more from this author.
