Vincent

Through every drop of blood I spilled, I lost a piece of my soul. I’ve sacrificed seven long years and the woman of my life for the Family. With prison behind me, I’m finally taking the reins of my destiny. I won’t allow the choices of my past to define my future. But I’m not done fighting—not yet.

Eve is still out there.

I will stop at nothing to get her back.

Eve

After having my heart torn out by the son of the biggest crime family in New York, I was forced to start over in California. With three thousand miles between me and my past, life is finally set on cruise control. I’m a lawyer at one of the best law firms in the country, I own my apartment, and I even have a doting boyfriend by my side.

As for love?

It’s not worth the fight.

*Redemption (Vincent and Eve Book 3) is the final book in the Vincent and Eve trilogy. You must read Rising (Vincent and Eve Book 1) and Reckoning (Vincent and Eve Book 2) in order to enjoy the conclusion of this heart-stopping romance.

Review by Jen Skewes

I love this series and could not wait for the conclusion to Eve and Vincent’s story.  We were left with a cliffhanger that completely broke our hearts.  Vincent was going to jail and Eve is let completely broken due to his betrayal.  I could not wait to find out how their epic love tory would end.

Redemption takes place 6 years later, when Vincent is released from prison.  At this point Eve is living on the other side of the country, having fulfilled her dreams getting her law degree.  Vincent wants nothing to do with the family business, and plans on moving to Vegas to open his new hotel/casino.  He also had plans to find Eve and tell her the truth in hopes of winning her back.  He knows he broke her heart but if he can just tell her what really happened, make her understand he was trying to protect her, and then maybe she will be able to forgive him.  We all know that nothing comes easy for these two.   Their story so far has been nothing but one roller coaster of a ride filled with so many emotions.  But we also know that when it comes to their love for one another it is intense and filled with passion.  Even years later the love they have for each other is still very present.  But there is so much for them to work through before they get to there happily ever after.

I was so excited for this book and yet sad at the same time, because it means saying goodbye to two of my favorite characters.  The love that Eve and Vincent have for each other is so intense, the chemistry between them off the charts. Vincent grew up in a world filled with crime, hate and was destined to become the head of the mob family.  With all that he is been through and seen, he wants nothing to do with it.  He wants a life for him and Eve and I admired that about him.  But what I loved the most was how passionate and protective he was when it came to Eve.  How much he loved her, and how much she completely owned his heart.

We watched both of these characters really grow in this one.  I love Eve and loved that she found the success she deserves, bit a part of me felt like she wasn’t the Eve we knew and loved.  Almost as if this new world she was living in had somehow taken her away.  But I think once Vincent comes back we see the real Eve, the one that fights for what she wants and truly living her happy and best life.

I love the conclusion to this epic love story.  I loved that their love for each other never died.  And in true Jessica Ruben fashion there is still drama and angst and a lot of emotions involved.  Their ending wasn’t a walk in the park.  This is Vincent and Eve we are talking about. It took a lot of pain, broken hearts, time away, and so much more before they could get their happily ever after.  And every minute was so worth it.  I really hope we get to see more of these characters; a few of them need their own stories.  Looking forward to reading more from Ms. Ruben.
