Review: Crow's Row by Julie Hockley

Crow's Row

Our 4 star review by guest reviewer Jennifer Hagen

Emily Sheppard is a naïve 19 y/o student attending college and has just completed her first year. She comes from a family of money but has chosen to walk away from the money so that she can live independently and her parents have very little contact with her. She has chosen a college and living situation near to the cemetery where her older brother Bill is buried. It is during her summer vacation that she encounters a young man and his dog during one of her runs The man is Cameron, a 26 y/o crime and drug leader. Unbeknownst to Emily, Cameron has been keeping watch of her for several years and has grown an unspoken love for her. Following their encounter, Emily witnesses a crime that is forcing her into captivity. During this captivity with Cameron, Emily grows close to Cameron and the feelings for each other are released but fought by Cameron.

“The real Cameron was the one who kissed me in the darkness, the one who sat on my bed and admitted that he loved me…and had loved me for a very long time.”

Cameron will not let anybody close to him for fear that others in the crime business will see his weakness and use it against him. How does Cameron handle his feelings for Emily? It’s an ending that is like no other.

“Please…you need to go. Don’t look back. I love you.”
