You don’t expect that out of a hot alpha male but that makes him even hotter. But Julia just can’t open herself up to him for fear he would be next on their list. Once it all came about what Julia was hiding, I don’t think I would be able to put the people I care about on that list. And that’s what made me love Julia, too. Sure I wanted her to fall into his arms and tell him everything, but it made my heart squeeze a little bit tighter with her protection of everyone.
She was a fool for thinking she could manage any sort of relationship while she was still clawing her way out of the mess her last relationship had left for her.
As with all Ms. Blakely’s reads, you will be sucked deep into this story. I absolutely loved the balance of hot-lustful sex, tender-kill me moments, and the angst of these two characters. Most of you will probably see the fall out in the beginning but the ending left me tossing the e-reader aside, crossing my arms and pouting.
“I’m crazy about you, but right now I’m going to fuck you like I hate you. I need to fuck you angrily but don’t forget this, I’m crazy for you.”
So between the plot, Clay’s filthy mouth, and Julie’s need to protect; I will stand here tapping my foot and drinking several purple snow globes while I wait until the second book makes its appearance.
