Let me just start by saying- if I was to be auctioned off for sex, I would want to be owned by Colton Drake, hands down. I am never disappointed with Kendall Ryan's heroes. They are always so hot, alpha, and just down right possessive- and I love it. Plus my emotions with this book were all over the damn place. Happy, to downright bawling! The conclusion was absolutely perfect.
I knew Colton was going to have some redeeming to do after the end of Filthy Beautiful Lies. And the book basically starts with Sophie and Becca in Rome- trying to escape from what happened. She has the means and money, so why not? Except, so does Colton and he tracks her down, with the help
of his swoony brother Pace, so that he can fight for her and apologize.
"I've never seen him look so devastated and broken. Dark circles line his eyes and he hasn't shaved in days. Even though I've agreed to hear him out, a wave of nausea washes through me. Am I prepared to handle whatever he's about to tell me?"
And as much as you want to harpoon Colton for keeping a secret from Sophie, I am glad Sophie heard him out. That's what gets me sometimes about romance novels! The hero/heroine always assume the worst and never stick around to hear the full story- but once they hear the story its usually like oh. Maybe I should have listened.â€
"I will give you all the time you need, sweetness," he whispers."
Colton is even swoonier in this part, and I love him for that. He is one of those heroes I won't soon forget. Yes he has riches and whatever money can buy, but what he really wants and needs is Sophie's love.
And don't forget how strong Sophie is, especially when tragedy strikes. She could have just given up, but with Colton's help, she realized what she would be giving up on. And she couldn't do it
I am in love with Kendall Ryan, each book she puts out makes me love her that much more. From the writing to the love story, from the steam to the characters, there is so much to love. And I can’t wait for Pace's story- he deserves love too! It should be interesting, considering he is a total playboy- opposite of Colton! Once click this, and finish a really great story!
