Blog Tour: The Empire State Trilogy by Louise Bay

Adult Contemporary
The Empire State Trilogy, Part 1
Released: October 21, 2014
Each novella is around 30k words
Anna Kirby is sick of dating. She's tired of heartbreak. Despite being smart, sexy, and funny, she's a magnet for men who don't deserve her.
A week's vacation in New York is the ultimate distraction from her most recent break-up, as well as a great place to meet a stranger and have some summer fun. But to protect her still-bruised heart, fun comes with rules. There will be no sharing stories, no swapping numbers, and no real names. Just one night of uncomplicated fun.
Super-successful serial seducer Ethan Scott has some rules of his own. He doesn't date, he doesn't stay the night, and he doesn't make any promises.
It should be a match made in heaven. But rules are made to be broken.
A Week in New York is the first in a series of three novellas.

4.5 Star Review by Jen Skewes

Oh My God, this book!  I need the second installment like now!!  I fell in love with Ethan and Anna and need to know that after their amazing week together that they find their way back.  This book was sweet, fun and oh so very sexy.  But at the same time I felt the emotions of the two characters and the end, oh my god the end.

Anna is in NY with her best friend for a week.  She has sworn off men, especially after the fiasco with her last boyfriend.  She is tired of the lies and the heart ache.  But when she sees a very sexy stranger in a bar one night she thinks that maybe she needs to have a little fun while she is on vacation.  It can't hurt right.  A no strings attached night with a sexy man.  But there are rules; no names, no contact, no intimacy.  Just good hot sex.

Ethan is sexy, successful and the type of guy that will melt your panties in an instant.  But he himself has his own set of rules.  He doesn't date, doesn't do romance or relationships.  He always lets women know ahead of time what they are getting into with him.  When he sees Anna across the room he wants her, in his bed.  And he has no problem with following her rules for the night.  Until the next morning when he wants more of her.  He finds himself wanting to know where she is and what she is doing.  He wants and needs more time with her.  They agree to just one week.  One week where Anna is his, and at the end of the week she will go back to London never to see each other again.  Two people who have rules.  It's just sex and nothing more.  But sometimes rules are meant to be broken and just sex turns into so much more.  So what happens at the end of the week when it is time to say goodbye?

Can I just say how much I loved this novella and cannot wait for the next one.  It was very sexy and steamy but at the same time sweet and fun.  Ethan may have his rules but seeing things from his POV you can see how much of an affect Anna has had on him.  And that maybe once in his life there is a woman that is worth breaking the rules for.  I loved how sweet he could be one minute and then so sexy the next.  The sex and chemistry between them was off the charts.  I loved Anna and thought they were perfect together.  This is the beginning of what is going to be an amazing series.  I felt the attraction, and the connection between the two of them.  It may have been just sex to them but as the reader I felt it becoming much more.  I also felt for the two of them at the end and found my stomach in knots when the week was up.  Hoping and praying that it didn't have to end.   That somehow it would all be ok.  I cannot tell you what happened or how this ended of course.  But trust me when I say READ THIS BOOK!!  You will not be disappointed.

Autumn in London is the second part of The Empire State Series, a series of three novellas.

4.5 Star Review by Jen Skewes

This is the second book in this series which I love!   When I finished reading A Week in New York I could not wait to get my hands on Autumn in London.  I needed to know what would happened with Ethan and Anna.  Would they somehow find their way back to each other?  Would the both be able to break their rules to be with each other.

At the end of A Week in New York Anna went back home to London and both her and Ethan promised to ever look back.  What they had together was just a week and nothing more.  Now a few months later and Ethan is on his way to London for work.  Ever sine that amazing week he spent with Anne he has not be able to get her out of his mind.  He’s never felt this way about a woman and at times questions if he should even try to find her while he is there.  Anna and Ethan do meet again but now that he is in London for 3 months Anns is afraid of what might happen in those 3 months.  Will she start to develop feelings for him, will she end up getting hrt in the end.  But regardless of any reservations that she may have they agree to just live in the moment for the nest three months.  That all sounds fine and dandy until that day comes and you are not sure that you can just say goodbye that easily.  What will happen when the 3 months are up.  Can they make a long distance relationship work?

I just fell in love with Ethan and Anna.  And to be honest it did not take very long at all.  I just love the passion between the two of them.  They are extremely hot and sexy together but what I loved about this book is that yes there was a lot of sex but it was not overdone at all.  This is a novella series but never did I feel that their relationship was too rushed.  We get the perfect balance of emotion and sexiness from the two of them.  You know exactly how they feel each other.   You can feel every emotion with them as well as the passion between the two of them.  I am so rooting for the two of them to make this work.  I cannot wait for the final installment in this series.  This series is a must read and one that I am loving!

4.5 Star Review by Jen Skewes

New Year in Manhattan was the perfect ending to an amazing story that I loved and quite frankly am sad to see end.  I loved this series and fell in love with Ethan and Anna from the very start.

New Year takes place exactly where the second installment ended.  Ethan is on his way back home to New York and Anna is still in London.   I knew that these two would find their happily ever after, well at least I hoped they would.  But not knowing how was the issue.  They both wanted to be with each other and both were so willing to give it all up for each other but at the same time the fear of admitting that to their lover took over.  I think they were both afraid that maybe their feelings for each other weren’t the same.  Anna would have moved to NY in a second but only if Ethan asked.  And believe me he wanted that more than anything but was too afraid to open up to her.

This final installment is about these two really making it work.  Because now that Ehthan’s time in London is up they have to decide how their relationship is going to go.  They both had rules when they first met that they completely threw out the window.  Ethan had never had a relationship with a woman like this and Anna is knows for having horrible relationships.  But this is so different for the both of them.  The love and passion that they have for each other is so evident in their actions.  They want to make it work and have to figure out the next step.

I love serials.  Especially when they are written in a way where the whole story doesn’t feel crammed into one short story.  This series had it all and never once did I feel anything was too rushed, or too much of anything.  It had the perfect blend fo drama, sexiness and emotion.  Ethan and Anna are two characters that I just adored.  I wanted to see them make it work.  Ethan was hot and sexy but is also sweet and caring.  Anna is everything that he purposely stayed away from but yet everything that he could ever want.  This is one of my favorite serials.  I am so sad to see it end and wish that there would be more of these two.  I would love to see more of their future together.

About the Author

I write sexy, contemporary romance novels – the kind I like to read. My books Faithful and Hopeful are stand-alone novels although there are some overlapping characters. The Empire State Series of novellas starts with A Week in New York.
Ruined by romantic mini-series of the eighties, I love all things romantic. There's not enough of it in real life so I'll settle for books and films.
I love the rain, the West Wing, London, days when you don't have to wear make-up, being alone, being with friends, elephants and champagne.
