The years that were taken can never be repaid.
The memories stolen can never be returned.
But I had to move forward…for him, my son.
Noah had spent years wondering what he could have done differently. Wondering what he’d done wrong to make Stacey leave. The heartache from her absence and the what-ifs of their past eventually turned to anger—and then disgust.
It took years for him to move on, and once he did, his past came thundering back, revealing a secret.
A secret that would forever change his future.
Alena had waited for the chance to have more with Noah. He was an enigma, a man of mystery, yet she wasn’t quite ready to give up on him. She knew there was more to him than what he allowed those around him to see. She was drawn to his charm and his calm nature. With an uprooted past of her own, she craved a little stability more than anything. But when things between them finally begin to grow into more, their relationship is tested.
Will it all be too much for Alena to handle?
Or will she decide to stay and be a part of…Noah’s Journey?
While out on a date with Alena, who does he see but Stacey? And boy does he get the shock of his life when he finds out that she has been keeping a secret from him. She has reached a new low in the depths of deception. But once it's all out there, Noah's life is changed forever.
Call me selfish, but I truly hoped this wouldn't mean the start of a relationship I thought he and I had was now over.
Now this is where I faced challenges with the story line. I understand that Noah's world has been rocked but he was beginning a relationship with Alena and suddenly something else is now his priority. He constantly put that priority in front of her time and time again. And then when it would be pointed out to him that he was messing with the best thing that could ever happen to him, he would beg for forgiveness. They would end up having sex and then it would start all over again. And Stacey...come on, she fooled Noah how many times and yet it took way too long to put a stop to her manipulations. I wouldn't have been opposed to Alena dating someone else during the course of this book just to stir things up a little.
I knew over the last two weeks I'd only talked to Alena a couple of times and texted her a few times in between those calls. My head was so messed up over Stacey and my own fears that I was backing away from Alena.
I enjoyed the epilogue, all of the couples and their POV's were included-very unique. Although Noah hinted that he messed up again and caused serious problems and the two of them needed some help from a third party to get back on track. I'm not sure if those events will be included in a future story, but it was confusing to me as a reader, when I had no real idea what he was talking about. I enjoyed the first two books in this series. I think I just had no connection with Noah in this one. Olivia (Ryan's daughter) is up next and I love this feisty, confidant young woman. That's one I am looking forward to reading.

Things are finally heating up between Noah Sawyer and Alena. Both are interested but have been a little reluctant to wholeheartedly jump in to a relationship. But just when they do-Noah gets the shock of his life. About four years ago he was engaged to Stacey. (a self centered woman who needed constant attention) She broke his heart one day by telling him she had had enough of small town living and was leaving. He could come with her or stay behind. He had responsibilities and couldn't just pack up and leave. He knew Stacey was all about Stacey but this was too much even for her. So she left, and he had trust issues with women but finally he was about to open his heart to Alena.
"I asked you to marry me, and now you're fucking telling me you're leaving? I lifted my hand and gripped my hair, pulling at the ends. "So what the hell was last night? And again this morning? One last roll in the sack before you walk out on me?"
