Review by Jen Skewes

You’re the Only One is a best friends to lvoers romance which I love.  But I think this one was a little different because in the beginning of this book we see the two main characters, Sky and Dillion start relationships with other people.  There was a part of me that wondered if I can really watch them fall for someone else knowing tht they should be together.  And the answer was yes, yes I can.  I think that is what made this book so good.  It was watching two best friends start relationships and possibly falling in love with them.  I wasn’t sure where this story would go, when would they finally come to their senses and see what was right in front of them.  When would that light bulb go off in their head enlightening them to the fact they they were in love with their best friend?  That is the part of this story that I loved and when it finally hit them, the story just took off and I fell in love with Dillion and Sky even more.  I felt the connection even more than I did when they were just friends.  And it was truly so beautiful to watch these two best friends fall so in love with each other and how easy it was to go from friends to lovers.

Dillion and Sky have been best friends since Sky moved next door to him when they were younger.  Their moms were the best of friends so they were always together.  Five years ago they both moved to NY to pursue theie dreams.  Dillion wants to be a famous musician and Sky wants to be a fashion designer.  They are as close as two people can be, they know each inside and out and have always been ther for each other.  But when Dillion meets Natasha, a gorgeous model and Sky starts a new relationship with her ex, will Dillion and Sky start to drift apart?  They have always put each other first but neither of them have been relationships like they are now.   Will it cause problems in their friendship or will they finally see what has been right in front of them all along?

I really enjoyed this book so much.  As I mentioned earlier I was not so sure how I would feel about them dating other people but it completely worked for this story.  It caused me to feel the emotions, wanting the two of them to feel it as well.  I loved the slow build up to the two of them finally seeing it, I loved that you could see little moments here and there where everything was being questioned.  But most of all I loved the part of this book when they finally did realize it.  They were filled with so much love and passion and everything about their relationship just felt so right.

Just because they discovered their feelings it does not mean that their road to get there was all peachy.  They had their ups and downs.  They had their moments of jealousy and sadness.  And even when they were together there were moments where you felt unsure, afraid that going from best friends to lovers wouldn’t work out like everyone would hope.  So yes they did have some struggles both in their relationship, their friendship and their life and that is what I loved about this book.  If you love a best friend to lovers romance like I do then this one is for you!!
