Review: Spark by SL Scott

SYNOPSIS
One break is all The Crow Brothers need and we’re about to get it.
Johnny Outlaw, rock legend and lead singer of The Resistance, is here to watch us play. But he’s not the only familiar face in the crowd—killer little body, heart-shaped face, and drop-dead gorgeous.
Hannah Nichols sitting at the bar makes it hard to concentrate, sparks already reigniting. The beauty was never a groupie and tonight she’s not here to catch our show. She came to drop a bomb. “You have a son.”
She underestimated me. I’ll prove to my son, and her, that I can be the dad he needs.
What is it about musicians? Why are they so damn sexy?
My heart was Jet Crow’s the moment he opened his sexy mouth and sang that first song. One stolen night with that man would never be enough, but I’m not here to fall into his bed. Again. I’m here to fight for custody of a son he’s never known.
There’s just one problem. Those sparks between us have become flames. If we’re not careful we’re both going to get burned.

Review by Jen Skewes

I loved this book.  Spark is one of those books that once you start reading you do not want to put down.  I am a huge fan of the Resistance Series by SL Scott so I wasn’t sure what to expect with this new rock star series.  Would we see the same drama and angst?  Would we feel the intense love between the two main characters as we did with Johnny and Holliday? As I started to read this story I saw how different this book is.  Yes it is about and up and coming rock star, but there is so much more to this unique story that I loved.  There is drama and some angst, but while it may not be an angst fest, it was the perfect amount to keep you completely captured in Hannah and Jet’s story.

Hannah and Jet shared one night of hot sex and passion, but there was also this instant spark between the two of them.  They both felt it but knew that there would only be this one night between them.  Six months later, Hannah is knocking on his door with news that will completely rock his world.  He has a son, one he obviously knew nothing about.  Hannah isn’t there to tell him about his son in hopes that he will step up and take care of him.  No, she is the one wanting custody of him.  But Jet is his father and he has rights and intends to fight for them.

The spark that was between these two when they first met is still very much alive.  But the obstacles that are between the two of them may be too difficult to get through.  There are many factors that they must consider before taking this t the next step.  Will they be able to get past the hurdles to be together?

I loved Jet. He is in no way your typical cocky musician.  All though I must state that he is a musician but not quite the rock star yet when we first meet him.  He just melted my heart over and over again. When he was talking I was smiling.  Whether it was with Hannah of Alfie.  His feelings for Hannah were so evident in his words and you could feel the love he had for her, even f he didn’t know that it as love yet.  And how quick he took to Alfie and instantly the two of the connected will just make your heart happy.  That little boy stole the show.

Hannah has her own story to tell and her back story is honestly a sad one.  She never really had anyone who was there for her.  Meeting Jet lights something inside of her and he’s the person that can put her broken pieces back together.

Spark was sweet and sexy with just the right amount of drama.  I loved the writing and the storyline.   The addition of Jet’s two brothers to the story made it that much more fun to read.  I cannot wait for their books.  And anyone who is a fan of Johnny and The Resistance will be happy with the role that they play in this book.  Loved it!!!
