Release Blitz: The Last Resort Motel by D. Kelly

Release Date: April 12, 2018

Synopsis

Never in a million years did Sage Garcia think she would be spending her three-day weekend at The Last Resort Motel with the man she swore off years ago. If she hadn’t agreed to do a favor for her best friend Baxter, she would be enjoying her time off instead of being stuck up on a mountain with him.
After tricking Baxter into picking him up, Gabriel Ross is looking forward to a guys’ weekend. Besides, he can use all the help he can get while he runs the motel restaurant for the weekend. When he opens the door and finds Sage on the other side, he’s anything but disappointed. Too bad he can’t say the same about her. Sage still holds a grudge from a hookup years ago, but Gabe isn’t the boy he was back in the day and is looking forward to proving it to her.

With their chemistry burning hotter than ever, will Sage give in and let Gabe make amends? Or will she remain resentful while keeping her heart under lock and key?

The Last Resort Motel was a short but sweet story about second chances.  Sage’s best friend Baxter asks her for a really huge favor.  He needs her to drive 12 hours to pick up his friend at The Last Resort Motel and bring him back home to his house.  Baxter is too occupied at the moment and on the date of lifetimes.  And because Sage loves her friend dearly and is happy for him she goes.  When she gets to the hotel and finds out exactly who she is picking up, she is ready to kill Baxter.  Behind the door of Room 13 is Garbiel Ross, the boy who broke her heart many years ago.  But it wasn’t just her heart that he broke, she never felt like she was the same sine he left her.

Gabe has been holding onto a secret, on that it is finally time to let out.  But one he tells Sage the truth will it bring them loser together and make her run as far away as she can.

I really enjoyed this story.  While it was short it packed a lot in.  Sage and Gabe were really good together, when she wasn’t hating on him.  But you could tell the spark was still there, but so was the hurt.  Gabe is a good man and you really do see that in the few days that they spent together.  I loved their connection, and was rooting for them to get their second chance.  The side characters were a fantastic addition.  Aurora and Max played a great role in this story and Agnes was a real hoot.  this is the first book that I have read in this series but I am certainly curious and looking to read more.
