Release Blitz: Bro Code by Kendall Ryan

From New York Times bestselling author Kendall Ryan comes a flirty new standalone about falling for your older brother's best friend.

There’s pretty much only one rule when you’re a guy.

Don’t be a douche.

Turns out, the fastest way to break that rule is to fall for your best friend’s sister.

Ava’s brilliant, sharp-tongued, gorgeous, and five years younger than me.

She’s the sexual equivalent of running with scissors. In a word, she’s dangerous. And completely off-limits.

Falling for her could ruin everything.

Yet I can’t seem to stop, even when her company is threatened by a lawsuit, and my promotion hinges on representing the opposing client—and winning.

I can’t see a way out of this mess that doesn’t end in a broken friendship, a broken heart, or a ruined career.

I may have broken the bro code when I fell for Ava. But do I have the balls to handle what comes next?

Review by Lisa Kane

Barrett Wilson is coming back from Chicago to visit with his best friend, Nick and Nick’s family. They are having a celebration for Nick’s dad’s retirement. He’s turning over the operations of the family’s factory to Ava, Nick’s sister. Ah Ava, the girl who inspires fantasies Barrett has no business having about Nick’s younger sister.

And since Mr. Saunders was pretty much the only dad I knew growing up, I told him I wouldn’t miss it. That and the chance to just relax and get away from the city was a welcome distraction.

Ava Saunders has had a few fantasies of her own when it comes to Barrett. But he never gave her the time of day when they were younger so she’s learned to rein it in when it comes to him. She’s got her hands full with making a profit for the factory-if it all crashes and burns it’s her family’s legacy at stake. She needs to keep reminding herself of this since the crush she’s had on Barrett seems to be mutual right now.

He was the good guy, the guy you could trust, and he kept my brother out of trouble more than once. I’d catch glimpses here and there, but Barrett always seemed to be just out of reach.

Barrett is all work and little play. He’s a lawyer up for a promotion to partner if he can bring off the case he’s been handed. When everyone else goes home, he’s still got his nose to the grind stone. Each success puts him one step closer to achieving his goal. From the time his mom remarried and pushed him to the side for her new family, he’s been determined to succeed. To make it on his own. To prove he is a worth a place at the corporate table. Even his attraction for Ava can’t come in the way of that goal.

“My whole life, you never showed any interest in me. Then you sweep on in and start helping everyone. Nick and my parents and-hitting on me like I was the hottest thing in town.”

Bro Code is about ambition and dreams and finding out what makes or breaks someone. Are the lifetime goals worth the price needed to pay to achieve them? At what point do you stand back, take a hard look at your life and decide that if it never changes from this moment, is this enough?

Barrett infuriated me at certain times. I know the guy is a workaholic with over the top ambitions, but how do you live with some of your decisions. I kept wondering if he would redeem himself.  He knows law, he just needs to figure out life a little better.

“Listen, work has me in an awkward place right now. I thought I was a couple of years out from partner, but they told me I was on the fast track if I can get the deal I’m working on to go through.”
