Series: The Fragile Line Series Parts 1-3
Author: Alicia Kobishop
Genre: New Adult Romance

"This story has everything. There's love, loss, desire, passion and so much warmth between Chloe and Matt. They understand each other. Their connection is fierce. Their passion is combustible....I was blown away." ~Verna of Verna Loves Books Blog (The Fragile Line: Part One)

"I absolutely loved this continuation of Matt & Chloe's story! Again we get flawless writing, delicious angst, and scenes where the chemistry is super hot. “This book is so passionate and so real. Alicia's writing will make you feel everything. Every struggle they have, every bit of pain they feel and the love. The love will flow through you.” ~Verna of Verna Loves Books (The Fragile Line: Part Three)

Love is the one emotion they just can't shake off.

Part One of a Three-Part Story.

Chloe McCarthy has one rule when it comes to sex: one night, no strings. But for Logan Tanner, she made an exception.

Big mistake.

When he breaks off their ongoing friends-with-benefits arrangement for someone else, reality hits her hard. She's all alone and plummeting toward rock bottom. Until she runs into the one guy who can always make her smile. Matt Langston--mechanic by day, bouncer by night, ripped-and-tattooed-hot 24/7.

Matt would know that pink-tipped platinum-blonde hair anywhere. It's Chloe, doing a half-naked walk of shame. He knows she's no saint. Then again, neither is he--but he's no douchebag either. Her slumped shoulders and tear-stained cheeks ignite his protective instincts even as his better sense warns him she's a threat to his no-drama lifestyle.

As their friendship deepens, however, mutual desire reaches the boiling point. Chloe's body hungers for Matt as a lover--but the last thing she wants is to ruin the best thing that's ever happened to her with the best sex of her life...

Warning: This romance is appropriate for age 18+ only.

*The Fragile Line is a spin-off to The Fine Line, told in an addicting three-part romance novella series, with each part building on the last. Parts One, Two, and Three must be read in order. Reading The Fine Line first is not necessary, but will provide a further introduction to the characters which may enhance the overall reading experience.

Review by Jen Skewes

I was really looking forward to reading this book, having read The Fine Lin and meeting Chloe in that book.  I will say that I wasn’t sure how I would feel about her because she was the nicest person in the first book.  She had a friends with benefits relationship with Logan but when he met and fell in love with Liv, Chloe did not take it well.  So I was curious to see what her story was and so far Alicia Kobishop did not disappoint.

In the beginning of this book I was not a fan of Chloe’s at all.  Again it had to do with her actions when it came to Logan.  But once you put that aside and Chloe realizes that things with Logan are truly over you start to see a different side of her.  The author goes back to her past and we see how much she is still hurting from what happened in her past.  And trust me it was a shocker.  I was angry and upset for her.  But slowly we begin to see more of the real her and that has everything to do with Matt.

Matt is amazing, simply put.  He sees something in her that I think others do not see, mainly because she doesn’t let them.  Matt slowly peels back her layers and he sees that she is not the girl everyone thinks she is and he wants her.  Not just in a physical way but he wants more.  Right now they are just friends but when they cross that line what will happen?  Matt has gotten himself in a bit of a situation considering that Logan is one of his best friends.  Neither one of them want a relationship but they both know that whatever is going on between them is certainly more then just friends.

I am really enjoying this series and love Matt and Chloe together.  He makes her a better person. He brings out the best in her and I honestly love her after this book.  I love that we get to see her background story because it helps the reader to really understand her and where her mind is.  Matt and Chloe are adorable and sexy together.  Matt is completely swoon worthy and I love it.  Cannot wait to start the next one and I am hoping that we find out more of Matt’s back story.

The only way to have her heart's desire is to risk losing it all.

Part Two of a Three-Part Story

Chloe wants more than anything to FML--follow Matt's lead. It feels right to be with him, even with his family. But in the past, every time she's given her trust, it has torn a chunk out of her heart.

Things are moving too fast, but she feels powerless to put on the emotional brakes. She senses Matt is holding something back. Something that could spell the end of what they have.

Matt is ready to take the next step in his life. One dream calls to him with a once-in-a-lifetime career opportunity. The other--Chloe--sears his soul with eyes that tell him she's not ready to follow.

Long ago, he gave forever love a chance and got burned in the most humiliating way imaginable. This time, the only thing he can offer is one night they can both look back on. And hope that one day, the warmth of that memory will draw her back into his arms.

Warning: This romance is appropriate for age 18+ only.

The second installment starts off exactly where we left off.  Matt has a big decision to make.  He has been offered a dream job and he knows that there is no way that he can pass this offer up.  but he doesn't want history repeating itself and he knows that he needs to tell Chloe all about it and discuss it with her.  The thought of losing her does is something that he does not even want to think about.

Chloe knows that things with Matt are becoming more than just friends with benefits.  She has feelings for him but given her past she is so afraid of everything that she feels  and what is really going on between them.  She has trust issues and she has every right to have those feelings.  But she is also so afraid that she is not enough for Matt.  Just when things seem to be going the right way, their feelings now being shown to each other, things take a turn in a direction that Matt did not plan on.  Matt is ready to move to the next step in his life and he hopes to have Chloe by his side.  But will she be too scared to take that next step?

This series is fantastic and just keeps getting better and better. I love seeing the two of them moving closer and closer to be lovers and not just friends.  You can see how much they care for each other and you know deep down this is so much more than what they make it out to be.  But fears get int heir way of admitting their true feelings to themselves.  I loved that we got to the see the past from Matt's point of view this time.  It helped us understand his fears and what he went through.  They are both broken in their own way bit then they are together everything just seems right.  Chloe is a better person because of Matt and she is finding that person that she once was.  I am rooting for these to and hope that they can both put the past aside and move forward with each other.

When the last spark of hope fizzles, love can light the way home.

Part Three of a Three-Part Story

In her heart, Chloe knows she's done the right thing to let Matt go. Her old life of clubbing, drinking, and hookups is over, but she isn't finished growing into the person she wants to be, much less a woman who's worthy of Matt's love.

She's not exactly moving on, but she's moving forward. Until she catches a glimpse of Matt on TV as one of the cast of the American Muscle reality show. And that's not all. He's holding hands with his co-star, Dalton Davis's beautiful daughter, Ava.

When Chloe walked away from Matt, he made a decision: he'd wait for her as long as it took. Meanwhile, he doesn't see any harm pretending to be with Ava just to appease her father--at first. But he can't pretend, not even for the cameras. Trouble is, Chloe has only seen half the story--the half that's a lie.

It may take a tragedy to bring her close enough to tell her--and show her--the whole truth.

Warning: This romance is appropriate for age 18+ only.

Review by Jen Skewes

This is the final installment in this series and I loved it. It was the perfect ending and even had a little bit of drama thrown in there as well. This is honestly my favorite part of the series. This is where everything comes to head. We find out once and for all what will happen with the two of the. As the third installment starts, Matt is off to fulfill a dream of his while Chloe is trying to find herself and be the person that she once was, but she is doing it all by herself, without Matt by her side. She let him go and while she knows that it was the best decision she sometimes wonders if she made a mistake.

Matt loves Chloe and he knows that she is it for him but he also understand why she pushed him away. He knows in his heart that if he just gives it times that things will work out between them. But how much time will pass by before these two see other and finally talk and admit how they feel. And will it be too late?

I loved this novella so much. I fell in love with Matt even more in this one. He is just an amazing guy who has so much love for Chloe. He is patient and kind and just completely swoon worthy. The words that come out of his mouth can melt your heart in one minute and the next have your heart racing. I n the end I loved Chloe. Once the Logan issue was behind her and you found out why she acted the way that she did it was easy to forgive her. She grew so much as a character in this series, that by the end you couldn't help but love her for it.

There is one moment in this book that I loved. Ok make that two but this one involved a letter that i thought was the perfect way for Chloe to get the closure that she needed but also be able to forgive and move on. The other part was the sweet moment between Matt and Chloe that just melted me into a puddle of mush. This was a fantastic series. I hope that we get to see more of these characters in the future. I think Gavin needs to find love and so does out new fiend Carrie.

Release Blitz: Anything You Can Do by R.S. Grey

Title: Anything You Can Do

Lucas Thatcher has always been my enemy.

It’s been a decade since I’ve seen him, but our years on opposite coasts were less of a lasting peace and more of a temporary cease-fire. Now that we’re both back in our small town, I know Lucas expects the same old war, but I’ve changed since high school—and from the looks of it, so has he.

The arrogant boy who was my teenage rival is now a chiseled doctor armed with intimidating good looks. He is Lucas Thatcher 2.0, the new and improved version I’ll be competing with in the workplace instead of the schoolyard.

I’m not worried; I’m a doctor now too, board-certified and sexy in a white coat. It almost feels like winning will be too easy—until Lucas unveils a tactic neither of us has ever used before: sexual warfare.

The day he pushes me up against the wall and presses his lips to mine, I can’t help but wonder if he’s filling me with passion or poison. Every fleeting touch is perfect torture. With every stolen kiss, my walls crumble a little more. After all this time, Lucas knows exactly how to strip me of my defenses, but I’m in no hurry to surrender.

Knowing thy enemy has never felt so good.

Review by Lisa Kane

What a fun read this was! Two rivals, literally since birth who have always tried to beat. Lucas Thatcher and Daisy Bell are both back in Hamilton, their hometown. Both have studied and worked their asses off to become doctors. They are working for the only practice in town, each having dreams of taking it over.
The banter between these two as they each try to woo the office staff is hilarious. It’s obvious to me, even if it’s not so apparent to them that they are perfect for each other. The whole town has followed their competitiveness and is fascinated by the fact that they are now working together. Of course, Daisy is determined to make Lucas quit. And Lucas being Lucas, he’s not about to make things easy for her.

“When you’re packing your bags in a few weeks, I’ll let you keep this coat so you can always remember what might have been.”

She never knew he was coming back to town, she left Hamilton after high school to go to college on the west coast. She knew Lucas had a full scholarship to a school on the other side of the country. Finally, she would be free of him. But now it’s 11 years later and she’s back where she was before. Only now she is starting to see Lucas in a whole new light.

Can you kill someone with a kiss? I think that’s what he’s doing-slaying me with his mouth.

Lucas has done a hell of a lot of growing up-he’s gorgeous and just about every female in town has her eye on him. Of course that doesn’t make Daisy jealous. She just wants to be rid of him…
There’s lots of humor and a little bit of angst in this story. I think this may be one of my favorite RS Grey stories. This woman can write a delicious rom/com!

“I’ve loved you since I knew what love meant.”

I am a lover of books, chocolate, reality TV, black labs, and cold weather. Seriously, if I had it my way I would be curled up on the couch with all of those things… everyday.

I live in Texas where I spend my free time writing and reading. My favorite authors are Mindy Kaling & Jonathan Safran Foer. I’m a comedy geek and love all things “funny”. Women like Tina Fey, Amy Poehler, and Mindy Kaling are definitely the biggest inspirations for my writing, though I think my work tends to skew a bit smuttier than theirs.

Excerpt:

His hand slowly stroking up and down the outside of my thigh is what roused me from my dream state. It was so soft and tender that I was getting more and more turned on with every movement. With my eyes still closed, I enjoyed the sensation. It wasn’t until his lips started brushing my shoulder, that I was unable to stifle a moan, revealing that I was awake.

“Good morning,” his whisper was hoarse.

“Mmm, good morning.” I stretched my body against his and turned my head to see his face hovering over mine, before our lips met.

“Sleep good?”

“Surprisingly, I did. I was so exhausted. Sorry for passing out on you last night,” I apologized.

“I think we both passed out the moment our heads hit the pillows.” Wes’ hand had migrated from my thigh to my stomach, where he softly drew circles with his fingertips.

Rolling over to face him, I pushed my hair out of the way, silently praying my humidity enhanced curls didn’t make me look like a deranged housewife, scaring the erection right out of the man. Slinging a leg over his thigh, I instantly got my answer. The crazy morning coif was not a cock killer. Thank God!

“You’re a morning person, I see.” Hiding my smile was not a possibility.

“Yeah, I am,” Wes laughed, moving closer to me, his eyes filled with the unmistakable desire to become lovers, something I’d dreamed about on the deck of a windjammer long ago.

“You can wake me up like this anytime.” I needed to let him know it was okay. He’d said he’d take it as slow as I wanted it and what I wanted right now was a slow rhythm of him plowing into me. Hard.

“Are you hard to wake up?” He was pressed up against me.

“I think you’ll figure out the secrets to rousing me.”

“You’ve already figured out the secrets to arousing me.” His voice still had that sexy edge of morning roughness to it, making me want to skip all foreplay and have him inside me.

“I’ll bet you have a few more secrets I can discover,” I said against his lips, as I shifted the leg I had slung over him, pressing my heat and wetness against his already throbbing cock.

Wes groaned and I could feel his smile against my lips. “You know you’re going to make it impossible to make slow, sweet love to you.”

“Good, because I don’t want it slow and sweet.”

Wes flipped me onto my back, “I can easily accommodate your wishes. Are you on anything or do I need to…”

“We’re good,” I assured him.

“Yes, we are.” He kissed my neck, then swiftly pulled my tank top over my head tossing it to the floor. “We’re going to be really good together. Of that, I have no doubt.”

And I knew he was right. Being with this man had been so perfect from the night we met. We meshed with ease and the result was pure joy.

The warmth in his eyes and smile made my breath catch, and in that moment, I was flooded with overwhelming emotion at how much I wanted him. How much I’d always wanted him. It was more than lust, beyond the heat of the moment. Wes Bergman was the man I had always wanted, from the night we met. That was clear to me now.

“I vote we skip the foreplay.” I wriggled out of my underwear.

“You’re on.” His smile told me he was taking on the challenge.

“You’re in,” I gasped, my breath catching in my throat, surprised at the swiftness with which he filled my request.

Review by Jen Skewes

Have you eve started a book and from the moment you start reading it, you could not put it down?  You spend every free minute you have reading, staying up late because you need to see what happens next and when you finally do go to bed you wake up the next morning and the first thing you do is grab your Ipad and start reading again?  Well this was how I felt while reading Fallen Woman.  It is one of those books that you just cannot let go of.  And even when it was all over I still wanted more.  I want to go back and read it all over again because I cannot stop thinking about it.  This is my first book by Stephie Walls and it will not be my last.  I want to go and read every book that she has ever written. Her writing was just flawless, the story was just beautiful and it was written with so much emotion.  It was a unique story, at least for me, it was emotional, heart breaking at times but I loved and savored every minute of it.

Gia is a single mom to 3 amazing little children, but she is just barely surviving.  She grew up poor but throughout her childhood she was determined to go somewhere in life.  And she did, she got a great education, married a man who she loved and lived a great life, until it all came crashing down. She was left alone, to take care of herself and her children.  She finally gets a job, which means she can now pay her rent and bills but it still isn’t enough.  She is still very much in a hole and does not know how to get out.  Then she meets Jase Lane and things begin to change.

Jase is completely smitten with Gia from the moment he catches her doing a little happy dance, there is just something about her.  He wants to get to know her and find out what her story is. As time goes on he works his way into her life and they become best friends.  She has no idea who he is when she meets him but there is something about him that she likes and trusts and feels connected to.  Jase knows her situation and wants to help, but Gia is too proud to take handouts.  She will do what she has to do to take care of her family, even if that means selling her soul, and in a way she does just that.  Things are ok at the moment, she has a best friend who she adores, a surrogate grandmother who takes care of her and her children and she is making some money to help her out of the hole she is in.  And then everything comes crashing down on her, again.  Now she must fight, for her kids, for her family and for the man she loves.  But will it be enough?

Words cannot begin to express how much I loved this book.  Gia is one girl who I felt so much pain for.  She just wanted to be a great mother to her kids and give them everything, but because of her past she found herself alone, in too deep and not knowing how to get out.  She was a mother who would do anything for her children and I admired her so much for that.  She had such strength for everything that she went through.  She kept fighting and did not give up.

Jase oh this man had my heart from the very beginning.  He was so amazingly sweet and you could see how much he loved Gia and the way he loved her children and had a wonderful bond with them, especially little Emmy just melted my heart.  Even if she refused his help, Jase was everything that she needed in her life at that moment.

This book had my emotions all over the place.  I loved Jase and Gia but there was a part of this story that frustrated me so much.  It had to do with their decisions and while I understood Gia’s reasons for it, Jase’s still confused me.  Until that moment in the story where Ms. Walls shocked the crap out of me and made me see exactly why Jase made the decisions that he did.  And I may have loved him even more once I understood it all.  He always had her best interests at heart and that is why I loved him.  Their relationship had it’s ups and downs.  I loved the cute and sweet moments between Jase, Gia and her kids.  But there were also some moments that just broke me.  I tried so hard to figure everyone out, who to trust, who to love and who to hate.  But my God did Ms. Walls completely throw me for a loop.  To say I was shocked is an understatement.  There was a part of me that hoped maybe I read it all wrong, but no, I read it correctly.  I have to say well-played Ms. Walls!!  A beautiful story that will stay with me.  By far one of my favorite books this year!!
