Part One of a Three-Part Story.
Chloe McCarthy has one rule when it comes to sex: one night, no strings. But for Logan Tanner, she made an exception.
Big mistake.
When he breaks off their ongoing friends-with-benefits arrangement for someone else, reality hits her hard. She's all alone and plummeting toward rock bottom. Until she runs into the one guy who can always make her smile. Matt Langston--mechanic by day, bouncer by night, ripped-and-tattooed-hot 24/7.
Matt would know that pink-tipped platinum-blonde hair anywhere. It's Chloe, doing a half-naked walk of shame. He knows she's no saint. Then again, neither is he--but he's no douchebag either. Her slumped shoulders and tear-stained cheeks ignite his protective instincts even as his better sense warns him she's a threat to his no-drama lifestyle.
As their friendship deepens, however, mutual desire reaches the boiling point. Chloe's body hungers for Matt as a lover--but the last thing she wants is to ruin the best thing that's ever happened to her with the best sex of her life...
Warning: This romance is appropriate for age 18+ only.
*The Fragile Line is a spin-off to The Fine Line, told in an addicting three-part romance novella series, with each part building on the last. Parts One, Two, and Three must be read in order. Reading The Fine Line first is not necessary, but will provide a further introduction to the characters which may enhance the overall reading experience.

I was really looking forward to reading this book, having
read The Fine Lin and meeting Chloe in that book. I will say that I wasn’t sure how I would
feel about her because she was the nicest person in the first book. She had a friends with benefits relationship
with Logan but when he met and fell in love with Liv, Chloe did not take it
well. So I was curious to see what her
story was and so far Alicia Kobishop did not disappoint.
In the beginning of this book I was not a fan of Chloe’s at
all. Again it had to do with her actions
when it came to Logan. But once you put
that aside and Chloe realizes that things with Logan are truly over you start
to see a different side of her. The
author goes back to her past and we see how much she is still hurting from what
happened in her past. And trust me it
was a shocker. I was angry and upset for
her. But slowly we begin to see more of the real her and that has everything to do with Matt.
Matt is amazing, simply put.
He sees something in her that I think others do not see, mainly because
she doesn’t let them. Matt slowly peels
back her layers and he sees that she is not the girl everyone thinks she is and
he wants her. Not just in a physical way
but he wants more. Right now they are
just friends but when they cross that line what will happen? Matt has gotten himself in a bit of a
situation considering that Logan is one of his best friends. Neither one of them want a relationship but
they both know that whatever is going on between them is certainly more then
just friends.
I am really enjoying
this series and love Matt and Chloe together.
He makes her a better person. He brings out the best in her and I
honestly love her after this book. I
love that we get to see her background story because it helps the reader to
really understand her and where her mind is.
Matt and Chloe are adorable and sexy together. Matt is completely swoon worthy and I love
it. Cannot wait to start the next one
and I am hoping that we find out more of Matt’s back story.
Part Two of a Three-Part Story
Chloe wants more than anything to FML--follow Matt's lead. It feels right to be with him, even with his family. But in the past, every time she's given her trust, it has torn a chunk out of her heart.
Things are moving too fast, but she feels powerless to put on the emotional brakes. She senses Matt is holding something back. Something that could spell the end of what they have.
Matt is ready to take the next step in his life. One dream calls to him with a once-in-a-lifetime career opportunity. The other--Chloe--sears his soul with eyes that tell him she's not ready to follow.
Long ago, he gave forever love a chance and got burned in the most humiliating way imaginable. This time, the only thing he can offer is one night they can both look back on. And hope that one day, the warmth of that memory will draw her back into his arms.

The second installment starts off exactly where we left off. Matt has a big decision to make. He has been offered a dream job and he knows that there is no way that he can pass this offer up. but he doesn't want history repeating itself and he knows that he needs to tell Chloe all about it and discuss it with her. The thought of losing her does is something that he does not even want to think about.
Chloe knows that things with Matt are becoming more than just friends with benefits. She has feelings for him but given her past she is so afraid of everything that she feels and what is really going on between them. She has trust issues and she has every right to have those feelings. But she is also so afraid that she is not enough for Matt. Just when things seem to be going the right way, their feelings now being shown to each other, things take a turn in a direction that Matt did not plan on. Matt is ready to move to the next step in his life and he hopes to have Chloe by his side. But will she be too scared to take that next step?
This series is fantastic and just keeps getting better and better. I love seeing the two of them moving closer and closer to be lovers and not just friends. You can see how much they care for each other and you know deep down this is so much more than what they make it out to be. But fears get int heir way of admitting their true feelings to themselves. I loved that we got to the see the past from Matt's point of view this time. It helped us understand his fears and what he went through. They are both broken in their own way bit then they are together everything just seems right. Chloe is a better person because of Matt and she is finding that person that she once was. I am rooting for these to and hope that they can both put the past aside and move forward with each other.
Part Three of a Three-Part Story
In her heart, Chloe knows she's done the right thing to let Matt go. Her old life of clubbing, drinking, and hookups is over, but she isn't finished growing into the person she wants to be, much less a woman who's worthy of Matt's love.
She's not exactly moving on, but she's moving forward. Until she catches a glimpse of Matt on TV as one of the cast of the American Muscle reality show. And that's not all. He's holding hands with his co-star, Dalton Davis's beautiful daughter, Ava.
When Chloe walked away from Matt, he made a decision: he'd wait for her as long as it took. Meanwhile, he doesn't see any harm pretending to be with Ava just to appease her father--at first. But he can't pretend, not even for the cameras. Trouble is, Chloe has only seen half the story--the half that's a lie.
It may take a tragedy to bring her close enough to tell her--and show her--the whole truth.

This is the final installment in this series and I loved it. It was the perfect ending and even had a little bit of drama thrown in there as well. This is honestly my favorite part of the series. This is where everything comes to head. We find out once and for all what will happen with the two of the. As the third installment starts, Matt is off to fulfill a dream of his while Chloe is trying to find herself and be the person that she once was, but she is doing it all by herself, without Matt by her side. She let him go and while she knows that it was the best decision she sometimes wonders if she made a mistake.
Matt loves Chloe and he knows that she is it for him but he also understand why she pushed him away. He knows in his heart that if he just gives it times that things will work out between them. But how much time will pass by before these two see other and finally talk and admit how they feel. And will it be too late?
I loved this novella so much. I fell in love with Matt even more in this one. He is just an amazing guy who has so much love for Chloe. He is patient and kind and just completely swoon worthy. The words that come out of his mouth can melt your heart in one minute and the next have your heart racing. I n the end I loved Chloe. Once the Logan issue was behind her and you found out why she acted the way that she did it was easy to forgive her. She grew so much as a character in this series, that by the end you couldn't help but love her for it.
There is one moment in this book that I loved. Ok make that two but this one involved a letter that i thought was the perfect way for Chloe to get the closure that she needed but also be able to forgive and move on. The other part was the sweet moment between Matt and Chloe that just melted me into a puddle of mush. This was a fantastic series. I hope that we get to see more of these characters in the future. I think Gavin needs to find love and so does out new fiend Carrie.
