4 star review

"When I first saw her eyes looking up at me, she was an unexpected surprise.  Now with her in my arms, I knew she was a gift I had no intentions of letting go."

Dani Ruiz had the perfect life, and the perfect boyfriend.  She loved Rick and was happy, and nothing was going to ruin that.  Except that Rick completely broke her heart and broke up with her because it simply just wasn't working for him.  Dani was shocked, heart broken and angry, and dealt with it the only way she knew how.  By swearing off men and burying her head in her Kindle.  Dani had a love and addiction for romance novels, falling for her book boyfriends.  Who needed a real man and a real relationship when you have the perfect book boyfriend.  Her two best friends didn't exactly agree.  For the past two years since Rick broke Dani's heart they have watched her become wrapped up in this world of reading and book boyfriends, instead of going out and meeting someone real, someone to share her life with.  So they did what any good friend would do, they staged an intervention.  When they find out that the last time Dani was actually with a man was when she was with Rick they knew they did the right thing.  Dani promised she would go out and try a little harder to find a guy, even though the idea didn't thrill her in any way at all.  Dani was afraid to open up her heart to another man, she would rather live in her fantasy book world than have her heart broken again, until she goes to a CPR class and falls for the instructor.

"You and that Kindle.  It's like you're having a love affair with your damn books."

"Some of my book boyfriends stirred things up inside me, brought emotions to the surface, and spiced up my evenings"

Liam Lucas is a sexy firefighter who takes his job seriously and is good at what he does.  When he sees Dani for the first time while teaching a CPR class he is instantly attracted to her.  There was an instant chemistry between Dani and Liam that was hot and sexy.  But when class is over, Dani walks out not knowing if she will ever see him again, since she has no way of contacting him.  But as fate will have it they meet again that night at a club and the sparks begin to fly.   Liam Lucas is the perfect book boyfriend, in my eyes and in Dani's.  He is sexy and gorgeous but he is also sweet, caring and protective and basically an amazing guy.  Liam and Dani begin seeing each and find themselves falling for each other quicker than expected.  Liam makes Dani happy, something she hasn't found with a man in a while.  They just fit and have a connection on a physical and emotional level.  Liam has his own share of loss and heartache in his life, but being with Dani allowed him to open his heart again and to love again.  He had a second chance at love with Dani and he took it.  The love he felt for her was deeper than any love he has in his past and he knew that she was the one.  For Dani, Liam could just be the guy that she finds her happily ever after with.  But what happens when your ex realizes he made a mistake and will do everything he can to get you back?

When Rick Marin see Dani for the first time in two years he regrets breaking her heart.  At the time he was afraid that Dani  wanted more out of their relationship and had stronger feelings for him than he did for her.  So he ended it.  But now seeing her after all this time he realizes that he was in love with her and made a mistake.  And seeing that she is with another guy makes him want her even more.  He sets out to win her back and prove that he has changed and is worthy of her love.  Dani loves Liam and wants her happily ever with him.  Rick hurt her once, but sometimes you want to be able to see the good in someone.  Dani was beginning to see the person that she always knew Rick could be.  But was it all an act to win her back and will seeing Rick again bring back the feelings that she once had for him?  How far will Rick go to win her back and how much will Danit let it affect her relationship with Liam?

"I'm just me, but I'm yours.  All of me is yours.  My heart, everything, all of it yours... I love you, Daniela."

I loved the cast of characters in this book, all for different reasons.  I loved Liam and thought he was the perfect boyfriend.   Dani was definitely someone that most woman can relate to, especially given her love for her book boyfriends and her addiction to her Kindle.  There were moments where she frustrated me, but I could understand where her feelings were coming from. I loved her with Liam, and loved their flirty texts and the sweet and romantic moments that they shared together.  The relationship that she had with her two best friends Candace and Macy was fun and refreshing.  The three of them together had an amazing friendship and even through their ups and downs they were always there for each other  I wasn't a big fan of Rick's when it came to Dani but will say that I loved him with Madison and cannot wait to read about the two of them.

Overall I loved The Do Over and I think that A.L. Zaun did a wonderful job with the characters and the connection that the reader had with them.  You will laugh and maybe even cry a little.  There were moments when my heart broke for one character, while wanting to slap the other for poor decisions. The Do Over is a wonderful story of second chances.  Being able to move on from the past and open up your heart again.  This is a must read and I look forward to reading more from this author in the future.
