Review and Giveaway: Fall for Me by Ann Lister

Synopsis

Entertainment journalist, Ryan Pierce, meets the infamous bad-boy rocker, Dagger Drummond, and walks away with a great interview and a scandalous news bit that has the potential to turn the music world on its ear. Exposing the story would boost Ryan's career, but it would also come with the risk of ruining Dagger's privacy – and possibly his Rock God status.

The unlikely friendship that develops between Dagger and Ryan brings Ryan to question more than just his journalistic oath to report the news. It also forces him to take a look at himself and newly discovered feelings – feelings that make Ryan blind to the risk of becoming front page news himself.

Will Ryan find the courage to make a life decision to give himself true happiness with Dagger or take the path that would likely lead to heartbreak and destroy his career forever?

4.5 star review

Fall For Me is my first book by Ann Lister and I absolutely loved it.  It is a beautiful story of two people finding love with the person that they least expected.  It's about putting your fears and past behind you to find happiness.

Dagger is a sexy rock star who has been living a secret life.  There is a lot more to Dagger than what the world sees.  He has a past that haunts him, and to his fans, the media and the outside world, Dagger is a ladies man.  But only Dagger and his closest friend know the truth.  While Dagger has had his fair share of women, it is men that he'd rather be with.  He has kept his sexuality a secret for fear of it ruining his career.  It has been a long time since Dagger has been in a relationship, been in love and connected with someone on an emotional and physical level.  Until he meets entertainment journalist Ryan Pierce.

"Almost from the moment we met, I knew I wanted to be with you.   Forever." ~ Dagger

"I'm already yours; have been since the night we met." ~ Ryan

Ryan Pierce is an entertainment journalist who met Dagger when he interviewed him for a magazine.  Dagger was definitely attracted to Ryan when he first saw him, but unfortunately for Dagger, Ryan is straight.  He had no intention of giving Ryan much to information go on for his article, often dancing around the questions that he asked.  But it was after the interview was over, when Ryan goes back on the bus to get his recorder, that he gets all the information that he needs.  He finds Dagger in a very compromising position, one that definitely surprises him and one that he never expected.  Dagger had yelled at him and kicked him out but the next morning he knew that he needed to do damage control and apologize, and make sure that Ryan never tells anyone about what he saw.

Ryan understands what will happen if he tells the world Dagger's secret and promises to keep his sexuality a secret.  Dagger and Ryan begin to form an unlikely friendship that leaves Ryan a little confused and stressed out.  He has male friends but never felt the connection and ease with them like he does with Dagger.  He also never found himself attracted to them either.  With Dagger things are different, he finds himself smiling every time he sees Dagger calling him, talking to him for hours on the phone and he even finds himself dreaming of Dagger.  Ryan doesn't know what to make of all these feelings that he is having for Dagger and it scares him.  For most of his life life he has never been attracted to another man, so what is it about Dagger that causes these feelings?

"This is exactly where I want to be - Where I'm meant to be.  I'm certain of it." ~ Ryan

Dagger likes Ryan, there is something about him that he trusts, he feels safe and comfortable with him.  And while Ryan insists that he is straight, Dagger seems to think otherwise. Their friendship begins to move to the next level and Ryan begins to explore the feelings that he has for this sexy rock star.  As much as he is confused by it all he also knows that being with Dagger makes him happy and he finds himself falling for him in ways he never expected.  But there are a lot of "what ifs" in their relationship.  What if Dagger gets bored with Ryan, what if Ryan can't handle his feelings for another man, what happens when his friends and family find out and most importantly what happens if the media finds out the truth about the life that Dagger has been living behind closed doors.  Ryan and Dagger have found a love like no other, but will they let all these obstacles and uncertainties get in the way of their relationship?

"Because to me this feels right.  You and I together feels right.  Maybe I could have other men, but I don't want them.  they're not you.  They don't make me feel the way you do." ~ Dagger

I loved Ryan and Dagger together and loved every minute of their story.  I felt for Ryan and the emotions and struggles that he went through to try and understand what he was feeling.  But I also admired him, because he knew what he was feeling and as much as it scared him he knew he needed to accept his feelings and see where they took him.  Being with Dagger made him smile and made him happy and there was no denying it.  Dagger was so sweet and patient with Ryan as well.  He never rushed him and he allowed Ryan to explore his feelings at his own pace.  There were moments of sexy and flirty banter between the two of them that will make you smile.  They had amazing chemistry together.  They had such an wonderful relationship, they were open and honest with each other.  Dagger opened up to Ryan in ways that he has never done before.  He shared his deepest and darkest secrets with him.  Their relationship wasn't perfect, it had it's up and downs.  They both had their struggles and fears. But most importantly they loved each other, but was it enough?  Will Dagger and Ryan find their happiness with each other?

"Say you'll stay and jump into the deep end of the pool with me."  Don't think for one second I'm not scared or that I've got this all figured out.  I don't.  I'm feeling things I've never felt before and that scares the shit out of me, but I'm willing to face it because this feels right - you feel right." ~ Dagger

This was such a beautiful, love story between two people who never expected to find love the way that they did.  It shows you that it doesn't matter who you love or what sex they are, what matters is who makes you happy in life.  It is about two men who have formed an unlikely friendship that led to the love and happiness that they have both been searching for and both deserve.  Ann Lister has a way of connecting these two characters with her readers.  I fell in love with both Dagger and Ryan from the start.  Fall for Me is one of those books that sucks you in from the beginning and you just cannot put down.  There is a lot more to this story and other issues that they deal with, but I don't want to go into too much detail, because I want you to experience their journey for yourself.  This is definitely a must read, and I cannot wait for Zander's story.  Amazing job by Ann Lister!
