Sawyer Beckett does everything full throttle— he’s fiercely loyal to his friends, always the life of the party and impossible for the parade of women in and out of his bedroom to forget.
Surrounded by true love and happily ever afters, Sawyer's not sure if he's enhancing the what-ifs in his head, or if the goddess on stage that night really is worth the search and nagging in his chest.
At the most inopportune moment possible, Emmett Young comes "skipping" back into his life...and for the first time, Sawyer is the one left wanting more. But Emmett can't give her heart; it's already committed—for life.
The only one strong enough to bring the elusive playboy to his knees is the one he can't have. Luckily, Sawyer Beckett doesn't give up easily.
Mature subject matter and strong sexual content- mature audiences only recommended.

4.5 Star Review by Jen Hagen
This is Sawyer’s story, and in case you didn’t catch him
in the other books, he is a funny guy.
When we last saw Sawyer he was intrigued by a stripper performing a very
bad dance at a bachelor party. He has
now made it his mission to visit all the stripper bars to find her, but has not
had any luck locating the raven-haired beauty.
In the meantime he has been biding his time with other beauties. You see, Sawyer is a man whore. There’s no other way to say it. He likes his women, and he seems to be making
quite the rounds lately trying to get the girl of his dreams out his mind. But one night there she is and they make eye
contact and she gets an eye full of something else.
“This is an
ejaculation hallucination, it’s gotta be.”
Sawyer is caught in quite a predicament, but his luck is
about to turn around. Fate has stepped
in his way (with the help of Dane) and he finally gets to meet the girl of his
dreams, and she is everything that he has imagined. Sawyer is lust struck. Emmett is her name and she is down on her
luck. Sawyer makes it his mission to
better her life, simply because Sawyer likes to take control. It also helps that his friend Dane has mega
amounts of money and can condemn an apartment, owns a duplex, and has a spare car
sitting around. Dane is very loyal to
his friends and doesn’t bat an eye when Sawyer asks for his help. Sawyer is 110% committed to being a good
friend to her and he makes it known that he is willing and ready for more. Unfortunately these feelings are not
reciprocated.
“Sawyer, I’m not
what you think I am. Let it go and be my
friend. I could really use one.”
Sawyer was just friend zoned and if you know Sawyer, you
know that his tenacity will not allow him to remain in that zone. He relentlessly pushes to move past her walls
and continually vocalizes his desires when she lets him know that she can’t
have him, that she’s not good enough for him.
Sawyer is ready to move on from his man whore ways and wants desperately
to be with Emmett.
“You can have
me.” He whispers onto the back of my
hand, placing a kiss behind his words.
“All you have to do is take it.”
Emmett is holding
back a huge secret, one that will change the course of her life forever. She believes that Sawyer will not want
anything to do with her once that secret is revealed. Sawyer knows that she is holding back
something, but doesn’t push for details.
“If you don’t have
complete faith in me, I haven’t earned your secrets. When you trust me, trust that I mean it when
I say I won’t run, no matter what it is, then you tell me.”
Eventually Emmett reveals her big secret, and true to his
word Sawyer does not run...at least not right away. Both Emmett and Sawyer need to come to terms
with where this relationship is heading and what this new information means for
them. There are times when both Emmett
and Sawyer push away from the other and they need time to process. These are the times when my heart hurt. This book played with my emotions taking me
from a euphoric high with all the endorphins being released from laughing to
crushing me and making my eyes wet.
Sawyer has a lot of one liners that will push you over
the edge of sanity. I was waiting for my
tires to be rotated when I got the giggles so bad that I had to purse my lips
together and try to control my full body shakes from holding in the
laughs. A few pages later I’m fidgeting
because of a hot sex scene. I had to
take a break and play Candy Crush before somebody asked me if I was okay. Do you remember the old junkyard sitcom
“Sanford and Son?” There’s a reference
to him that still makes me giggle.
I bet the author
was in a constant state of giggles writing Sawyer’s POV. Evan’s
internal monologues had my sides hurting from laughing in his book, and
Sawyer’s voice is 10 times as funny. You
will be laughing so hard, but I am warning you Sawyer has a sensitive side as
well and has difficulty handling responsibility and may check out for a brief
period of time. Sawyer loves to be in
control and it throws him for a loop when there are things he can’t necessarily
control. Sawyer is capable of throwing
anyone off their game with his outbursts, he has no filter, and he doesn’t hold
anything back. But Emmett can hold her
own against Sawyer and his outbursts.
“Dear God,” I hear
Emmett mumble. She sits up, hands
covering her face for a second. “I am
so, so sorry. We’re having him tested
for Tourettes.”
All members of The Crew are here and make brief
appearances. Evan is still wondering how
to get out of group text messages and Laney is still high strung and
competitive. All members of The Crew
are extremely loyal to their friends.
This is where I finally started liking Dane. I have to admit I didn’t care for him before
because I wasn’t willing to give him the chance. Now I see that he is indeed a fabulous loyal
person who will do anything for his friends, and loves Laney with all that he
is. He has a calming force when it comes
to eccentric Laney and now I adore him. He
will do anything for his family to make their lives easier.
If you liked the little glimpses of Sawyer in the
previous books, you will love reading his story. He is controlling, hilarious, and loves
ferociously. I think I may have a new
book boyfriend and his name is Sawyer.
Sighing, I wrap a towel around my waist
and open the door, ready to try and be at least behave cordially, which I know
is only right. “Listen, can I—”
“She’s gone.”
I look up, startled by Laney’s voice
and even more shocked to see her sitting on my bed. Thank God I put on a towel.
“Where’d she go?”
“Home, I guess.” She shrugs. “I didn’t
ask. I heard the front door slam and got up to see what the hell was going on.
Since you’re here and she’s not, I’m assuming it was her.”
How did I not hear the door slam? Not that I would’ve chased her. “All
right, she left. So what’re you doing in here?”
She stands, grabbing some shorts off my
floor and throwing them at me. “Go put those on and we’ll talk. Since I’m up,” she reminds me with an
evil glare.
I head back in the bathroom to change,
and stay in there, locking the door and taking a deep breath. I’m over six feet
tall and lift almost every day, but yes, I’m scared to face Laney. Not only is
she a hellcat when she wants to be, but I don’t want to see the disgust or
disappointment in her eyes. She’s one of my best friends, even more so after
becoming roommates, and her opinion means a lot to me.
“Get out here!” she yells when she
finally realizes I must be stalling. “Take it like a man.”
I might as well go out there or she’ll
undoubtedly come in here, kicking in the door or taking it off the hinges in
what I have no doubt would be less than five minutes.
She pats the bed beside her when I open
the door. “Come sit down. We’re doing this now.”
I hesitantly take a seat, my knee
bouncing as I wait for her to speak.
“First, and of the utmost importance,
you know I call my father ‘Daddy,’ so hearing your visitors scream it repeatedly in the middle of the night freaks me
out. I wake up thinking I’m in some bad Lifetime movie.”
Fighting my smirk, I agree. "Okay,
got it." Maybe this little chat
won’t be so bad after all.
"Second," she stands and
tucks my extra pillow between the headboard and wall before sitting back down
beside me, "on school and game nights, booty call curfew is eleven. That
work for you?"
"Yeah." I sigh and run my
hands along my head, wishing I had some hair to pull. "It won't happen
again, Gidge. I'm sorry."
She places a hand on my shoulder with a
small smile. "Don't be sorry. This is your house too and we hadn't talked
about it. Now we have, so we're all good. Any rules you want to put in
place?"
"Nah, I'm easy."
"Made crystal clear by the parade
of women coming in and out of here." She laughs and scoots away quickly,
ducking the pillow I grab and swing at her head. “Speaking of which, been
busier than usual lately—you trying to make a little Guinness or
Gonorrhea?"
Here we go—this is
what she really wants to talk about.
It was a nice segue, funny even, but I’m on to her.
