BLOG TOUR: In the Lyrics by Nacole Stayton

Title: In the Lyrics
Author: Nacole Stayton
Publication Date: February 7, 2014

Hensley Bradley is the definition of the girl-next-door. She’s kindhearted, beautiful, and talented. Bored with her mundane life, thoughts of fleeing her small town begin to consume her. With aspiring dreams to use her voice as a one-way ticket, she suddenly discovers that music might not be her only passion.

After a fallout back home, Colby Grant decides to leave his family’s farm, determined to show his father he’s more than just a wanna-be country singer. With his All-American good looks, it doesn’t take long for girls in his new town to focus their eyes on him. But things aren’t what they appear from the outside, and it isn’t long until Colby feels he doesn't fit into the perfect world that so quickly embraced him.

A chance encounter places Hensley in Colby’s path, but it isn’t her natural beauty that first captures his attention – it’s her voice.

When love and music mix, will the combination blossom into a beautiful melody or wither into a heart-wrenching tune?

4 Countrylicious Stars by Faith Dotson

Boy, oh boy...I definitely didn't see the twists coming in this book. Holy smokes and then some. It's one of those that
leaving you swooning, crying, laughing, hating, and well, total emotions all over the place.

What happens when two totally complete strangers are drawn to each other and aren't able to fight the pull they have?

When one just wants to find the big ticket out and the other left heartache behind to make someone proud? Well, you get
the story of Hensley and Colby; with extra treats added in.

Hensley is a bit of a spit-fire but she is also naïve, sweet, and beautiful. She has one mission in her life and that is to get out that town and be discovered. She refuses to let anyone in but her best friend, Dusty. They bonded together because they were different from the other crowd and have stuck together ever since. She knows she is the reason for

her mother's dreams never coming true so she is still pure and has plans on staying that way!

"He didn't steal me. I wasn't living here before he even moved to town. You were suffocating me, Mom. Pushing your

dreams onto me at every turn. I just grew tire of it, so I left."

It's very entertaining when you find out that Colby is Dusty's new roommate because Hensley doesn't know how to act

towards him. So, her first instinct kicks in and she becomes a bitch. That soon changes though, so don't worry!

"She has to know what she's doing. It's like I'm a pawn in her little game and she knows it. A smile spreads across her

face as I basically stand here, drooling over the erotic princess that stands before me, shaking her hips like a belly dancer. I'm half tempted to toss her over my shoulder, hop in my pick-up, and have my wicked way with her. The thought alone drives me wild, but she'll tell me when she's ready. "

"He pulls away slightly and then grabs a fistful of my hair. Tugging it, my neck bends backwards so I am looking up at

him. His eyes are burning with a thirst and yearning that I know only I can quench for him. He claims he stares at me,
drinking me up; well, I stare at him  plotting ways to get him to deflower me. "

As the story moves on, Lord help me, I was no longer on Team Hensley. The life changing decision she makes will have you hating her that instant. She began to really infuriate me. She wasn't one of the whiny heroines. I'm guessing more of

the type that doesn't care who she hurts. I called her names and wanted to reach inside the book and smack her upside her head. But then...I accepted her.

And then we have the country hotness of Colby Grant. Colby falls for Hensley and he doesn't hide it. He wants her for his to keep. He gives her the utmost respect and is very thoughtful towards her. This boy's Mama raised him right!

"Snickering under my breath, I kiss her soft lips again. Lips that were made for my mouth to own. "I'll do whatever you want, as hard as you want. Just make the call, Sunshine."

Colby left his home to make it as a country singer. The past that he left behind was filled with a lot of sadness that he

and his family had a hard time dealing with. This boy has a huge heart and would do anything for Hensley and his friends. What he does give up will crush you. He stays in hopes that one day he will get his dream, his girl.

"I FEEL LIKE a part of me is leaving as Hensley looks back one last time before she passes through security and is out

of sight. Who am I kidding? A part of me is leaving. She's the puzzle piece I was missing."

"Picking me up, he carries me into my bedroom and makes love to me. It's as slow and romantic as it was our very

first time. His hands glide over my body like I'm a breakable porcelain doll, and his lips gently roam my naked body. I've missed this...I've missed him. "

When Hensley's wall final starts to crumple, you will see what these two means to each other. The raw passion that

comes out is pure awesomeness. Then you see the heartache.  Then the longing for each other. Even when tragedy strikes
Hensley and her family, Colby comes through for her. As much as he wants to stay away, he can't. Hensley, honestly,
doesn't make it all that easy for him to. And then there's that moment, when it clicks, and Colby finds himself leaving
his hometown after a short visit, to go get his girl.

The supporting characters add the sweet and sour treats. Dusty is what you want in a friend. He is always supportive

but gives you the reaming that you deserve.  It is an unbelievable friendship. Then there Brittani. This girl made my claws come out. She wants Colby in a bad way and doesn't take no for an answer. And, of course, there is the one guy that wants what he can't have and his name is Logan. He's a long time friend that really wants out of the friend zone. And he makes no buts about it when Colby comes along.

The alternating POV really helps the story flow. It's so nice to get into both characters heads. Nacole really has the reader feeling these characters. Why else would one want to smack someone upside the head? Or bring out their claws?  Or to take the wounded country boy back home and coddle him?  Oh and let's not forget....there is a HEA!!!

"Life changed when Colby waltzed into it unannounced. He shook me up and made me believe that love was real.
