What an intriguing read. Kept me guessing and on the edge of my favorite reading spot.

Sydney lives with her mother who is a wee bit psycho and abusive. But with all that physical and emotion pain, she finds breathing room when her mother finally kicks the bucket and Sydney can finally start living her own life. She has no social skills or job skills because her mom home schooled her and kept her secluded. Luckily she lands herself a basic job keeping an eye on an elderly lady and with this job;  a free apartment.

"You don't need me, Sid. You'e grown so strong since I'e known you. Your past doesn't have to always define you. I see a bright, happy future for you," he whispers sadly as he rolls over on his side to look at me.

Things were finally looking up for Sydney especially when she meets Liam who lives in the apartment next to her. They become instant friends and Sydney finds herself falling in love with sweet, sweet Liam. Liam finds himself always wanting to be around Sidney, but he never touches her. Mainly because Sidney hates to be touched because she feels "contaminated" thanks to her abusive mom. She and Liam find ways to be intimate without touching. He has broken through her walls more than anyone else has so when she finds out that Liam has to leave in a hurry, her heart is crushed.

"You're so damn beautiful, Sidney." The way he watches me makes me want to believe those words. Nobody has ever told me that I'm beautiful. My heart flutters wildly. And then reality sets in. I've seen myself naked, and now, so has he. My body is marred with the scars of my past. I'm ugly and damaged.

Then the intriguing part starts! ¦She heard noises coming from Liam's apartment and went rushing over there to start yelling at Liam. but it's not Liam she finds. It's Liam's twin brother Lane.

Enter electrically charged hotness!

Sliding my arm that isn't pinned under her up her body, I watch with interest as she shivers. My hand finds her cheek and I tentatively stroke it with my thumb. Her icy-blue eyes close and her lips part. Dipping my head down to hers, I softly kiss her lips. When her tongue shyly slips out to meet mine, we both gasp at the jolt of electricity that courses through us when we touch.

Lane gets sucked into falling for Sidney just like his brother did. For some reason, Lane is able to touch Sidney and boy does Sidney love the way that Lane touches! They both are falling for each other but then Lane starts telling her that she is crazy and that she needs help because she keeps talking about his brother and he can't seem to understand it. With her history I'm pretty sure I would have felt the same way about it.

"I want to be inside of you so fucking bad. I bet your pussy is dripping wet for me. Can I feel it, baby?"

Things that happen in this read really gave me the goose bumps. Every emotion ran wild and that pull that sucks you in starts right from the beginning when she's with the psycho mom. It was sad, dark, deep and so freaking awesome. The way that Sidney fights to live a normal life just amazes me. The only spoiler is that Sidney learns how to fight for love and learns that she deserves to be loved the right way.

Fix it, Pain. She's worth it.
