Review: Gina Maxwell's Tempting Her Best Friend

Alyssa Miller is tired of waiting for her next-door neighbor to see her as more than just his best friend. Ready to let off some steam, she heads to Las Vegas for a romance book convention where, if she's lucky, she’ll get down and dirty with one of the sexy cover models.

Dillon Alexander doesn’t do commitment—especially not where his best friend is concerned. She deserves a man who can give her the world, not damaged goods. But when he realizes Alyssa intends to have a one-night stand on her vacation, he hauls ass after her to make sure he’s the one to scratch her itch.

Neither of them expects their explosive chemistry to burn hotter than the lights on the strip, but with a little help from Elvis, Marilyn Monroe, a flamboyant matchmaker, and TSA, what happens in Vegas might not stay in Vegas…
4 Vegas Style Stars!
Review by Allison East
This book was a fun, sexy read that centered around two best friends in love with each other- but neither one of them knowing it!

Gina Maxwell always has the sexiness down pat- I love her books. There really hasn't been a book I have read by her that I didn't enjoy. And Tempting Her Best Friend was no exception. And of course the friends as lovers bit- what's not to love?
Alyssa Miller is done being second best to her friend and roommate, Dillon. She needs to make changes in her life, and one of them is getting over him. She is ready for some no strings sex, Vegas style. And when she lays out her plans for Dillon- he is more than upset. He is downright furious. Although she has no idea- even though she is in love with him- that he is also in love with her.

He'd give her exactly what she wanted: excitement, passion, and multiple orgasms. Batteries not included.

When she arrives in Vegas expecting to find her one night stand, what she finds is a bright eyed Dillon ready to give her an offer she can't refuse. He has decided to let her have sex with him for the weekend, in hopes he makes her fall in love with him. She is hesitant at first- but then decides to jump in. But this is when the lines cross and blur. When he admits to wants to date her- she backs off. Scared and burned from her past- she is afraid of a Walk-away Joe, like her own father. Even Dillon is scared of leaving her- thanks to his good for nothing dad. But he decides he is all in with Aly- gator.

"I'm handing you my heart on a silver platter to do what you want with it. Because I realized today that no matter what, it'll only ever be yours, Aly."

And to top it off- it is really funny and has some great lines! She has comedy down to a certain science, you almost have to in a romance novel- because love can be fickle- but also funny!

"So, Elvis, Marilyn Monroe, a bride, and a gay guy walk into the Vegas airport."
I never get tired of the friends,  then lovers books, they are intriguing. The angst, the sexual frustration, the chemistry, the heartache, but finally the HEA. As a short novel, this one will go down in the books as a go to, fun beach read.
