Synopsis
I used to imagine that life would be easier, more enjoyable, if I were tall, blond, and supermodel thin. But real life—like the average, every day woman—is full of curves and imperfections, and many opportunities to learn that it’s not the number on the scale that measures the capacity of your heart.

After years of struggling with poor self esteem and too many crash diets to count, I finally got wise—and hired a trainer. With an enthusiastic push from my brother’s fiancĂ© and more motivation than a Joel Osteen sermon, I, Madeline “Leni” Moore, am ready to ditch the oh-woe-is-me act.

That is, until I smack head-on into a tree and collide with him. Lane Sheffield is the guy you drool over from afar. One look at him the first day on the runner’s track, and my panties are up in flames. He’s out of my league. Slim, sleek, and athletic to my plump, dull, and unfit. Lane has no reason to like me, but to my utter shock . . . he does and this newfound attention from the opposite sex has me all sorts of baffled.

What starts out as a healthy journey to lose some of the extra me, turns into a quest to find my true self. Will the need to fit in and finally have someone to call my own lead me to my weight loss goal or my happiness goal? I've focused so long on being skinny, what will it take for me to learn the ultimate lesson—that beauty is only skin deep?

Review by Jen Skewes

I always look forward to a new Faith Andrews book.  I very rarely even look at the blurb because if she wrote it I will read it.  Moore To Love I think is a little different from what we are used to from Ms. Andrews but that is a good thing.  It is a bit witty, fun and deals with a topic that will probably hit very close to home for a lot of people, because it certainly did for me.   It is that dreaded topic of weight, physical appearance and the confidence & self esteem issues that go with it.  Moore to Love isn’t just a love story it is an inspirational story about loving yourself and having confidence and learning how to feel good about yourself.

Leni has always struggled with her weight.  Now that her brother is getting married she wants to lose weight before the big day.  She is no stranger to dieting having done so in the past.  At times she has felt comfortable with the way that she has looked but then she has moments where she gets down on herself and wants to change.  She starts exercising and dieting and begins to see the results of it.  She has more confidence and even has her eye on someone who she often sees running in the park.  She has never spoken to him and he hasn’t even noticed her until one day she runs smack right into a tree and Mr. Fancy Pants is there to help pick her up.  She soon learns that he has noticed her as well and the two begin talking and hanging out.  But for some reason just when Leni thinks that things are going somewhere with Lane he starts to pull away.  Is it her?  Is he not attracted to her?  Or is he just not interested in women in general?  You will have to read to find out what Lane’s isues are and what secret he has to tell.

What I loved about this story was how real it felt.  The characters had flaws just like we all do.  I have been in Leni’s shoes so many times before.  I know the struggles all too well.  And that is what I loved about.  Because when it came to Leni’s emotions, and her insecurities, Ms. Andrews was right on point with it all.  Leni had an amazing support team, which was so awesome to see.  Her best friend and future sister in law were there to cheer her on.  And I loved that Ashley never wanted her to lose the weight because she wanted her to be thinner for her wedding.  She did it because she cared so much about Leni and just wanted to see her happy.

Lane was like a breath of fresh air in Leni’s life.  He was a man who was instantly attracted to her, he didn’t see her as she saw herself.  He was a sweet and caring man and the perfect fit for Leni.  They had such great chemistry between the two of them.

I really enjoyed this book and loved the characters.  As I was reading this book I honestly felt motivated by Leni’s story to get up off my butt and start my own journey to becoming healthy.  Ms. Andrews did a wonderful job with this story and the way Leni’s insecuritiess were addressed and written.  I think this is a story that so many people can relate to and also be able to take something from this story and apply it in their own life.  Wonderful job!
