Release Blitz: The Naked Truth by Vi Keeland

TNT_Title_Black

A Standalone Second Chance Romance Novel
By: #1 NY Times Best Selling Author, Vi Keeland
RELEASE DATE: Monday, July 23, 2018

Synopsis:

It was just a typical Monday.

Until the big boss asked me to make the pitch for a prospective new client.

After two years on shaky ground at work because of my screw up, an opportunity to impress the senior partners was just what I needed.

Or so I thought…

Until I walked into the conference room and collided with the man I was supposed to pitch.

My coffee spilled, my files tumbled to the ground, and I almost lost my balance.

And that was the good part of my day.

Because the gorgeous man crouched down and looking at me like he wanted to eat me alive, was none other than my ex, Gray Westbrook.

A man who I’d only just begun to move on from.

A man who my heart despised—yet my body obviously still had other ideas about.

A man who was as charismatic and confident as he was sexy.

Somehow, I managed to make it through my presentation ignoring his intense stare.

Although it was impossible to ignore all the dirty things he whispered into my ear right after I was done.

But there was no way I was giving him another chance, especially now that he was a client…was there?

Review by Lisa Kane

This is one of those reviews that are difficult to write because too many things can be spoiled. (although spoilers don't bother me in the least, some readers go bat shit crazy when plot lines are revealed ahead of time. Me-I read the ending to most books first, so there's no such thing as a spoiler for me) But I digress...

Layla Hutton is still trying to make nicey nice at her law firm. She got herself into hot water by almost getting disbarred (for the best reasons though) and she has to tread a thin line. So when she's told the firm wants her to handle their new VIP client, she's a little bit surprised. When she finds out said client requested her-she'e even more surprised.

But the biggest surprise-the client is Gray Westbrook-her sorta ex. They met a couple of years ago, in the most unlikely of all places and feelings got felt. There may have been some heavy secret make out sessions too. But then Layla found out Gray left out one little detail about his life-

"I'm sorry I lied to you, Layla."

She hasn't seen him since. But his circumstances have changed and he has a considerable amount of money backing him up. He wants Layla and her firm to be his lawyers as he sets up a new investment company. Layla wants nothing to do with this. She's seeing someone else, maybe there are no sparks, but Oliver is a good guy. She deserves a good guy.

Smart, handsome, a great job, and...not afraid of commitment.

But money talks and Layla is going to have to suck it up and represent Gray. She can't turn down his business.

Slowly the door opens....yep..Gray is going to get that opening that he needs to get Layla back.

He knows he screwed up-but for the last few years, his whole life has been one big shit fest after another. Most of the fall out was not his fault. He's trying to get his life back on track and Layla is a big part of that.

"Betrayal doesn't come from your enemies. It comes from the people you care about."

Now let me just say this-keep in mind who the author of this book is-Vi Keeland. Yep, "crush your heart Keeland" is going to throw curves and twists that will have you tightening your grip on that Kindle.

"You don't even want to try? I get that we won't have much time for now. But things will settle down eventually."
Her voice cracked a miniscule amount, but I caught it. Not thinking, I reached out to comfort her. She stepped back.
"Answer me."
I looked her in the eyes and broke both our hearts. "No. I don't even want to try."

Boom! There goes my heart! Thanks Keeland...heartless wench.

The Naked Truth has lots of funny, poignant, surprising moments. I love being able to read both the main characters POV's. I need to know why they do the stupid things they do and how they rationalize their actions. Even when they make no sense to me.

Both Layla and Gray are lovingly flawed characters.

"You are..." I was truly at a loss for words. "I want to say beautiful, but it doesn't seem like enough. You are...the love of my life."
