Bishop: An Arizona Vengeance Novel
Sawyer Bennett
Release Date: August 14, 2018
Synopsis:
Meet the Arizona Vengeance, hockey’s hottest new team. They’re burning up the ice—until a one-night-stand with the coach’s daughter freezes one player in his skates.Bishop Scott, co-captain. Not too shabby, huh? It’s all part of my fresh start with the NHL’s latest expansion team, and that means new teammates, a new coach, a new city, and a big new contract. Basically, I cannot f***ing wait to show my old squad what they’re missing.
But first, I decide to check out the town before the grind begins. Turns out Arizona chicks are totally smokin’, and I’m fortunate enough to meet one who’s looking for the same thing I am: a night of anonymous, unforgettable, no-strings-attached sex.
Fast forward to the Vengeance arena. It’s the last place I expect to see her again—let alone in her own office. Then bells go off and I finally realize who this girl is: Brooke Perron. My new coach’s daughter. All of a sudden, we’re picking up right where we left off, which means our hands are all over each other. That’s when her dad—my boss—walks in. And before I can get a word out, Brooke’s introducing me as her fiancĂ©.
Sure, she just saved my ass. So why do I get the feeling Brooke’s going to turn my world upside down? Maybe it’s because this fake relationship feels way too real. . . .
4.5 Stars!

I what world does a one-night-stand turn into an engagement? Well apparently in the world of Bishop Scott and Brooke Perron.
Bishop Scott is feeling a little salty, he’s been traded from his old team to a new NHL franchise, training camp’s about to start and he’s feeling the need to blow off a little steam. So when the hot little number at the bar more or less throws herself at him and suggest he come home with her, well who’s he to say “no”? What can a night of hot sex with someone he’s more than likely never going to see again hurt? Nothing until he not only runs into her the next day, but learns she works for his team, is the daughter of his new coach AND just got busted with his tongue down her throat by her dad…his new coach. Well FUCK.
Brook Perron has just recently lost her mom and because she’s worried about her dad, she gives up the job she loves in New York to spend more time with him and make sure he’s okay. All the recent events have her so stress that she decides one night of wild abandoned sex should fix her enough. Except being busted by her dad kissing the one night stand she thought she’d never see again, who happens to work for her dad and because she doesn’t want him to be in any type of trouble she blurts out to her dad that the guy kissing her and his newest hockey player is her fiancĂ© just added to her stress. Well SHIT.
At first I wasn’t sure how I felt about these two because I just couldn’t figure them out. There were no extremely big egos or arrogant attitudes, no mommy or daddy issues. They both had good relationships with their parents or the parent in their lives, there was none of the usual issues that come along with a lot of the couples you read about. Then I figured there’s no catch; they are just two regular people two regular people who got really horny one night and banged each other hearts out. They really were two nice people who kind of got mixed up in a situation and they made the best of it. One might think, with a description like that, this would be a boring read. But it was anything but, I mean c’mon, you know Sawyer better than that. It was a really good read and watching, well reading about, two people get to know each other, become friends and fall in love. I think the whole watching them become friends was the best part of the entire book. Like I said, these were two really nice people who looked out for their friends and family and just people in general. From the way Brooke made a date of one of the players feel comfortable and welcomed at an event where she was basically snubbed, to Bishop trying to break the ice of one of the players who’d become something of a loner.
Since this is the first book in a new series this was like the introduction to storylines to come. While your getting Bishop and Brooke’s story , you’re also introduced to a host of characters that get your interest piqued and having you clamoring to learn more about them; like Erik the player and the guy with a “the type”. The type that seems to be pretty much like a particular flight attendant who seems to dislike him on sight; Then there’s Dax who’s Bishop’s best bud who was traded with him and who jumped right in to help with the charade Bishop and Brooke had going without thinking twice about it and finally there’s Tacker who’s the team loner that kind of keeps to himself and let’s himself be tortured by his demons.
I have yet to meet a Sawyer Bennett series I didn’t love and this one is shaping up to be no different, can’t wait to read more about these guys.

A reformed trial lawyer from North Carolina, Sawyer uses real life experience to create relatable, sexy stories that appeal to a wide array of readers. From new adult to erotic contemporary romance, Sawyer writes something for just about everyone.

When not bringing fictional romance to life, Sawyer is a chauffeur, stylist, chef, maid, and personal assistant to a very active daughter, as well as full-time servant to her adorably naughty dogs. She believes in the good of others, and that a bad day can be cured with a great work-out, cake, or even better, both.
Sawyer also writes general and women’s fiction under the pen name S. Bennett and sweet romance under the name Juliette Poe.
