I love forbidden romances, they push me out of my comfort zones and give me all the feels. This one is no different. The female lead, Blair is looking for some uncomplicated encounters. She's just had her heart broken by her long time boyfriend who wanted to explore other relationships. (in other words, he wanted to hook up with other women) Her friend Taylor has a family resort in the Florida Keys that he invited her to and she's determined to find a little paradise. It doesn't take her long to arrange a meeting (via a Tinder like app) with a hot guy she spotted when she first arrived.

Tate is an older guy who has not had it easy. He's been successful in business but his family life has always been a bit of a mess. It's left some empty holes in his life and he bears those emotional scars. He also checked out Blair and wondered just how old she was-too young does not interest him.

They meet up, admit there is chemistry but Tate doesn't want someone barely legal. Blair finds him pretty hot and wouldn't mind spending some time (read that to mean "time between the sheets") with him. Eventually, she wears him down and they enjoy lots of steamy time together. But vacations end and life goes back to normal.

The thing is, it's not quite back to normal. This is one of those stories that make it hard to write spoil free reviews. So let's just say that the second half of this book has a time jump and Blair is living a very different life than the one she had before Tate.

This book is about second chances-not just romantic ones. It's about perceptions of betrayal and forgiveness. Most of all it's about wisdom beyond one's age and how the heart doesn't care about how many years one has lived but cares about the years it wants to love.
