Release Day Blitz: Let Love Heal by Melissa Collins

Synopsis

Perfection.  We all strive for it, but what happens when the desire to be perfect consumes you?  What
happens when the need to bury your mistakes blinds you?

Melanie Crane has always been the perfect daughter, friend, student – she’s been perfect at everything, in fact.  But when she lets her insecurities, the ones that she keeps hidden from everyone, get the best of her, she falters in her pursuit of perfection.  Melanie crumples under the pressure and buries her pain.  Numbed by sadness and guilt, she is determined never to let anyone find out how broken she really is.

Bryan Mahoney may appear to have everything in order.  He’s charming, witty and completely swoon-
worthy. In short, Bryan has life all figured out, but appearances can be deceiving.  When the landscape
of Bryan’s family changes in an instant, he’s left to pick up the pieces.

Not all bruises leave a mark. Now, weary and afraid, Melanie and Bryan must find a way to let love heal their broken and jaded hearts.

4.5 star review by Nicole Lorenzo

Melanie Crane is the epitome of perfection. She is a loyal friend, caring daughter and an amazing student. Underneath that all is she is a very insecure girl who doesn’t even feel comfortable in her own skin.  Knowing she’s not the pretty girl or the skinny girl Melanie is in complete and utter shock when Brian Mahoney keeps flirting with her. Brian is a hot computer nerd who makes Melanie swoon with his charm and sweet talking ways, but she has seen his hot ex girlfriend and knows Brian could never be serious about her. But the more time they spend together the more it is apparent that Brian wants to be more than friends.

“In my very limited experience with guys, I never thought to encounter someone with so much depth and passion. I never thought I would be this lucky.”

Brian’s persistence finally wears Melanie down and soon they find themselves in a relationship. Melanie is blown away by how sweet and caring Brian is. He really seems to think she is beautiful inside and out even though Melanie has a hard time believing it herself. But when Bryan starts to pull away Melanie automatically thinks the worst. She starts hanging around with a different crowd and finds herself doing things she never though she’d do. When Bryan comes clean about why he pulled away Melanie realizes she made a terrible mistake and possibly has lost Bryan forever.

“You don’t trust that what we have is enough for me. My God, it was enough. But no matter how many times I told you that, you never believed me.”

With Bryan gone Melanie is left to pick up the pieces of the mess she has made. Now she knows in order to fix her relationship with Bryan she has to learn to love herself first. Bryan has his own problems to overcome as well, and although he has not stopped loving her, can he let Melanie in again? Can they both let love heal so they can be together where they belong?

“Were not perfect, neither one of us. And we never will be, but we can be imperfect together.”

Let Love Heal is the third novel in the Love series by Melissa Collins. What I really loved about this story is that Melanie was not your typical skinny and gorgeous girl.  She had curves and she was self-conscious about her looks like most girls in real life. Bryan was perfect for Melanie. Smart, hot and loved Melanie for who and what she was. The journey that these two took together was sweet and beautiful although sad at times as well.  I loved that you got a glimpse of Maddy and Reid as well as some of the other side characters we have seen in the last two novels!  I really enjoyed the story of Melanie and Bryan and I can’t wait to see who gets their story told next!

“I’m the lucky one. You loved me when I thought that love was the last thing I deserved.”

About the author

I’ve always been an avid reader. Majoring in English Literature was a no brainer. Becoming a teacher and instilling my love for reading into my students was also a no brainer. I’ve spent the last ten years  teaching and I’ve loved (mostly) every minute of it. When I was home on maternity leave for my third son, I discovered a new genre that sparked my creativity. My passion for writing sprang from my love of reading and once I knew I had a story to tell, I couldn’t wait to get it out there. I only hope that my readers enjoy reading my story as much as I enjoyed writing it.
