Review Love and Repair Series by Chelsea Camaron

Crash and Burn

Crash.....a crash ended it all and started it all. Dina Fowler is attending college with her long time best friend Maggie Lawson. Life is good and carefree. Until the crash that changed it all. Her freshman year ends with the loss of her parents in a car accident, spiraling Dina into a deep depression. Secluding herself as she picks up the pieces to her life, slowly she finds the only person she has left is Maggie.

Chance encounters sometimes make the most incredible moments, other times they crash and burn. A chance encounter brings Michael barreling into a lost and vulnerable Dina's life. Playing on every weakness she has, he weasels his way into her heart. Slow build up to the hell that was soon to become Dina's daily nightmare. Her parents are gone. She wants out but has no idea how to escape her new reality.

Can she find her way out? Or will she be lost completely burning in her own personal hell?
Dear Reader,
Broken. Battered. Not defeated. This is not a pretty story, wrapped in a nice package. This is a real story. Parts of this story are my very own. Defeated by the hands and words of a man, I am no more. This is a story of how easily the warning signs are overlooked. An outsider can easily say, “How do women stay in abusive relationships?” They don’t understand, it starts in little ways, a slow build up, by the time you are aware, it can be too late.

This is a story centered around an abusive relationship and the fight to get out. If you don't like real situations (this happens every day to more women then you realize) then skip this book and move on to Restore My Heart and the others, which are not like this story. This is real and its raw so this is your warning before you buy and read.

4 Star Review by Monika Adams

Wow...What can I say? I wanted to read this book before I read the second book Return My Heart, and let me tell you! I am so glad it was short! Having lived thru the same type of hell Dina does made it a rough read.

"What would he think of Michael? Would he approves? My Dad was very perceptive. Are there things I'm missing?"

This just warned me of what was to come, and it hurt my heart. No woman should have to experience that kind of hell. "They just don't under stand him like I do" . How many women said those same words...

Don't read this book by itself. You have to read the second book just to see how she deals with the decisions she have to make..Very short, a quick read. Well written. Ready to read the next book in the series Restore My Heart. (Daddy's Girl 1.0)

 Restore My Heart

Bad Boy, Ryder Davenport comes into Dina Fowler's life in the middle of her own personal hell.

Still coming to terms with the death of her parents, she pushes everyone away. When she trusts the wrong man, putting her in a bad relationship she felt she couldn’t escape, Ryder comes along. Enjoying his playboy ways, fast cars, motorcycles and a new woman in his bed nightly, Ryder had no thoughts of settling down. That is, until he sees the damage a man can do when he meets a very broken Dina. He changes in hopes of one day being enough for her. But, can she ever feel safe with a man again?

Ryder has restored hundreds of classic cars, can he restore Dina’s heart?

3 Star Review by Monika Adams

Ms. Camaron has a curious way of writing her first book in this series. She flips back and forth between Dina's view point and Ryder's. I think I am more of a traditional reader, but it seemed to work for this story.

Crash & Burn book 0.5 tells us what Dina went thru before book one. It helped to read that book first, to get a little more depth for the characters.

Ryder, the bad boy, is easy to dislike at first.

"Most little girl's dream of the day they find their forever in a man. This makes it easy for them to fall for the many lines a hormone driven dude, such as myself, will give them".

After seeing Dina at her lowest he falls...Hard.

"Don't know the pull she has on me but I feel like she is meant to be mine."
Dina, God bless her, finally opens her eyes to the world and sees Ryder.

"And with that he walks off, leaving me breathless; while my inner diva is doing her happy dance".

The only negative I have, personally, is that the story left me wanting...Wanting more story, more Ryder & Dina, and maybe a bit more plot?

Good Story. Quick read... I am ready for book 2.0 Salvaged!

Salvaged

Brayden and Maggie have been dating for four years. Maggie is ready and expecting an engagement ring. Brayden has a past full of weaknesses and mistakes he can’t seem to shake. As he slowly loses everything, he also loses Maggie.
As his world unravels, can he find the strength to shake his inner demons? Does he have it in him to face the ghosts of his past? Can Maggie overcome his deceptions? Will they find a way to love and trust again? Can their love and relationship be salvaged?

This book is intended for mature audiences as it continues adult language and content.

3.5 Star Review by Monika Adams

Let me start by saying I am enjoying Ms. Camaron's writing. The first story caught my interest with its intense subject matter. In the second story I would have liked a bit more depth and character development. The third story, Salvaged, is more appealing to me. I am appreciative that there was more to Dina and Ryder's story.

"I respect you; I respect the friendship you had with Dina's Dad."

I really would love to know of Ryder's history...

This third story (book two in the series)is about Maggie & Brayden, and the development of Brayden's character. The care given to his history and the demons in his head was very well thought through.

"Left alone with nothing but my thoughts, I just let myself drown in emotion. My mom was right".

Maggie's character was not as well developed but she seemed to have matured during the course of the story.

"Brayden, we will still have our time one day. We will get back..."

The story progressed nicely to the end with an introduction to the characters in the next part of the series.

Full throttle

High school sweethearts manage to make it through college into the working world still together and going strong. From the start of their relationship Jake has made very clear his apprehension to marriage. Kenna understood going into this nine years ago that with Jake there would never be a ring or white dress.
Now seeing their friends so eager to make such a serious commitment in their own relationships a crack begins to form in Jake and Kenna’s once solid foundation.
Will Kenna ever open up and share her dreams with Jake? Can Jake overcome his childhood issues? Is Kenna willing to accept things just as they are forever? Will her desire for a more serious commitment make her change her feelings for her one love? Is Jake enough alone or does Kenna demand more than he can give? Can they move forward full throttle into their future together?

3 Star Review by Monika Adams

Full Throttle is the story of Jake and Kenna, two high school sweethearts.

"Jake and I have been together nine years now; seven of which he has been in the Army reserves. We met in high school and began dating our junior year"

They met when Jake's mom dropped him off at his aunt's house. His story is not a happy one. Witnessing his mother having multiple husbands and subsequent divorces, his faith in marriage is none existent. Based on his childhood experiences, he is very happy with the way things are between Kenna and himself.

"Kenna is the woman for me; of this I am confident. It's the title of husband and wife I can't move past. It's the risk that those titles change things."

Now that all their friends are hooking up and getting married, Kenna is wondering if Jake will ever get over his aversion to marriage.

"Our life in Charlotte is fabulous. We both love our jobs, have amazing friends, a great house we recently purchased, and best of all, we will always have each other. The only thing missing is the ring."

She stayed loyal during his deployment, but she admitted that it was hard.

"I see wives who have whored around the entire deployment welcoming their men home."

The story is about the two, obviously in love, people who have to make some hard choices as to what they expect of their futures together. Can he let go of his fears and can she accept him for who he is?
Ryder is the owner of the garage where Jake works and Kenna helps Dina with her business. This is a tight bunch of friends who are creating their own family circle. I liked the characters and the way Ms. Camaron used their families to help these two resolve their problems.

3.5 Star Review by Monika Adams
This is the last book/story in the series called Love & Repair, Daddy's Girls.. It is one of the stronger stories in this series. If you haven't read the first books, please do so before you read this one so that you know and understand all the characters. Beyond Repair centers around Harrison Lawson, ex Marine and brother to Maggie from the first four books.
The story begins at Maggie's wedding to Brayden. At the reception, Harrison is with Sophia a tattoo artist. They are friends with benefits, but Harrison is looking for something more stable, long lasting. She is not reciprocating his feelings. She is holding him at arms length. Sophia thinks he needs closure with Tiffany.

Knowing her as I now do, I still don't fully understand why she hasn't wanted a real relationship. She needs security, something I was hoping to give her.

During the party, Harrison is surprised to see his ex girlfriend, Tiffany, walk in & this causes a bit of a scene. Tiffany has some unfortunate news to give to Harrison,. Not knowing the reason for her visit, Harrison gets mad and tells her to leave. Tiffany leaves in tears desperate to tell Harrison her news. Morning arrives all to quickly for Tiffiany. It was time she needed to talk to the Lawsons. She sends a text to Harrison and his parents explaining that the her news was very important and that they all needed to hear what she had to say.

"Life is short Harrison, I'm not here for you or to look good for anyone."

At this point Tiffany tells Harrison the news about his Best friend Matt and at that point in the story, they reminisce back over the beginning of their friendship.

During Boot camp Harrison had become best friends with Matt. Matt's parents had planned on Matt getting married to Tiffany King.

The deployment, which shattered my knee, was extremely difficult time for me, but Matt was there, Matt took leave to help..

Matt explained to Harrison that Tiffany and he grew up like siblings. He was to be CEO of their family's company and she was to be his wife. Matt rebelled and joined the Marines the same time Harrison did.

Without giving the whole story away, there is a happy ending, and they do at the end ride motorcycles together. I felt that Harrison was a strong alpha male and Tiffany's personality grew thru the story, but something was missing, some spark. I am glad that they did find their way.
