Blog Tour: Seductive Chaos by A. Meredith Walters

Synopsis:
Cole Brandt was the self-centered and philandering lead singer for Generation Rejects

Vivian Baily was a flaky, attention seeking drama queen.

Apart they were challenging…together they were complete and total chaos.

Cole and Vivian were two people who should never have been together.

Yet they crashed into each other at every turn.

Their relationship was anything but stable. But it was passionate. It was messy. It was hopelessly seductive. And it might possibly drive them both insane.

They fought. They made up. They screamed. They made love.

They hated and they loved in equal measure.

And now that Generation Rejects are starting to hit it big and the band is on the road, temptation and massive egos could very well spell the end of their roller coaster.

If only they could stay away from each other.

But Vivian has finally reached her breaking point. Tired of their endless cycle, she is ready to say goodbye to Cole for good.

Yet Cole isn’t one to go away quietly. Particularly when he is starting to realize exactly what he stands to lose if Vivian walks away.

As his world begins to turn upside down, Cole realizes that the one person who can hold him together is the girl who may no longer want him.

Love can be a comedy of errors, particularly for two people who never seem to get the timing right.

And In the crazy world of rock and roll, the hardest lessons to learn just might be the ones with the sweetest rewards

4.5 Wonderful Angst Filled Stars!  Review by Lisa Kane
I have been following Cole Brandt and Vivian Baily throughout the Bad Rep series. They are crazy, passionate and frustrating. Cole in Perfect Regret was a serial cheater, although to be fair, since the two never stated they were in a relationship, technically he wasn't cheating. But this guy was a major player and cashed in on his charisma as the lead singer for Generation Rejects. Vivian would find him in a compromising situation, go beserk, make a huge scene and the two of them would have wild sex afterwards. He pushed her buttons and she gave in to her addition for him. I couldn't wait for their story, since I wanted Cole to get what I felt he was due; he needed to be taken down a peg and Vivian needed to have some sense knocked into her- either tell him you want an exclusive relationship or cut him out of your life.

Seductive Chaos starts out with Vivian finding Cole shoving his tongue down some groupie's throat and of course she flies off the handle, but Cole seems to be egging her on. He knew she would show up, but pretended to not be aware of the time. She starts to wonder why she puts up with it all, and is this what her life will be like? She is about to start a really interesting job as an event coordinator; one that is perfect for her and maybe it's time to stop this dead end somewhat relationship and open up her dating life to some new opportunities. In the 2 years since she's been sleeping with Cole, she hasn't had any connection with anyone else or given anyone else a chance. She knows that isn't the case with Cole-he may not have had a relationship, but he hasn't lacked for female companionship.

Vivian shook her head. "I'm such an idiot." I turned her around so that we were chest to chest. I leaned down and took her bottom lip between my teeth, sucking it into my mouth and moaned when I heard her sharp intake of breath. She was just tall enough that I didn't have to bend too much to taste her mouth. Her curves fit against my body perfectly. I loved knowing what this girl felt like inside and out. It made me feel territorial and proprietary. Vivian Baily was mine.

Cole is beginning to admit that his feelings for Vivian are changing. It used to be that as long as she was around, he didn't want anyone else, but once she was out of sigh-she was  out of mind. Now a days, whether she's visiting him on tour or not, he doesn't have any interest in hooking up with anyone else. If he feels the need for sexual release-well that's s what phone sex with Vivian and his hand is for. It's been months since he has been with anyone-not that he would admit that to her.

Generation Rejects is on tour, opening up for the more popular band Primal Terror. They are gaining a following, and have a manager Jose, who may not have all their best interests at heart. He is trying to sway Cole into something he may not want to do. Cole is getting lots of attention  from the press, to the point where the other guys in the band are getting resentful. The tense situation is only getting worse. Cole is pulled all over the place, this is his chance to shine, but success doesn't feel so sweet.

Cole and Vivian's relationship is twisted and winding in this book. Both have deep feelings for each other, but both allow their insecurities to take over. Cole has never known love so he has no experience as to whether it will last or if he even deserves it. Vivian allowed herself to be a door mat for Cole for so long, that she needs to break their unhealthy cycle, not trusting that maybe he is looking for more for them both. Can they ever get on the same page at the same time?

I had messed up the only relationships I had ever counted on. And all the fame and fortune wouldn't make up for the fact that I had no one.

It was great to revisit with the couples from the first two books; Jordan and Maysie and Garrett and Riley. There's some trouble and angst brewing between Gracie and Mitch and I'm hoping maybe a 4th book about them??

I loved this lastest installment-it had all the makings for a great story; heartbreaking moments, steamy sex, straining friendships, unrequited love.

Because I knew at the end of the night, when the crowd was gone and the music was over, he would be with me. And only me.

Excerpt #1

“You don’t sound too happy about that.  Is the rock and roll lifestyle losing its luster,” she teased.  Shit, if she only knew.

I wanted to tell her about my conversation with Jose. Of how he wanted me to leave the band. I needed to get this great big pile of guilt off my chest.  Because ever since Jose had mentioned the possibilities out there for me this morning, I couldn’t stop thinking about it.  I was obsessing.

But I couldn’t tell Vivian.  Because I wasn’t ready to admit out loud how much I wanted to take Jose up on his offer.  Because that would be to admit how much of a traitorous ass I really was.

I played the part of dick head really well. I fucked chicks, I started fights.  I spoke out of my ass and pretended not to give a shit about consequences.

But it was just that…pretending.

I had learned a long time ago that being a jerk was easier than being someone people walked all over.  That it was better to hurt someone before they had the chance to hurt me.

It was fucked up. It was wrong. I knew all of this.  But I didn’t do heartache and pain very well. I was actually a huge pussy about it.

And the thought of screwing over the three people closest to me, while repulsive, was also entirely too appealing.  Particularly when I was poised to gain so much if I did.

And if I verbalized it, the asshole thing wouldn’t be an act anymore.

It would be who I was.  I would feel it deep in my bones.

It would be all I knew.

“It’s just overwhelming sometimes,” I said, feeling safe to admit that small truth.

Vivian’s sigh filled my ears and made me feel better than I had all day.

“I’m sure. I can’t even imagine.  But you’ll be fine.  You’re Cole Brandt.  This is what you do.  You’ll get up on that stage tonight and you’ll become everyone’s fantasy and you’ll love it.”

“Am I your fantasy?” I chuckled, hoping to god she said yes.

Vivian’s soft laughter was like a kick to the gut.  I seriously loved her laugh.

“Some days,” she muttered.

“Only some day?  What about today?” I asked, grinning from ear to ear.  I don’t think I had ever smiled this wide in my entire life.

“I don’t know.  There’s still time for you to piss me off.”

Then we were both laughing and life felt good again.

Bad Rep: Book 1
"Who gives a damn about their reputation? Oh, that would be me! Especially since mine had gone straight to hell in the span of thirty minutes".

Maysie Ardin is soaking up the summer before her junior year of college, shopping, hanging by the pool and shopping some more. But when her black belt in spending lands her in trouble with her parents, she is forced to take a second job at a local bar to dig herself out of a deep financial pit.

She thought she’d be miserable. But then Maysie didn’t count on Jordan Levitt, the hot, pierced and tattooed, drum playing bartender who also happens to be very interested in her. And the feelings are totally mutual.

It had the makings of the perfect romantic set up. Boy meets girl. Boy likes girl. Boy has girlfriend? Okay, maybe not.

But attraction is a hard thing to ignore and soon Jordan and Maysie find themselves in the middle of a gossip induced firestorm. Maysie has to learn whether she can set aside her fear of public disapproval in order to be with the one she wants. Or will she let the opinions of others dictate her life and her heart?

Perfect Regret: Book 2
Riley Walker makes all the right decisions and knows exactly where her life is headed.

Riley Walker does not make mistakes.

Riley Walker certainly doesn’t make spontaneous decisions.

But then Riley Walker gets dumped.

Spectacularly, gut-wrenching, stomp all over her heart dumped. And she is feeling more than a little angry. And a whole lot bitter. And suddenly the girl who has always done everything right feels like doing something completely wrong.

Garrett Bellows, lead guitarist for the local band, Generation Rejects, is going through life without a plan. Trying not to think past the next gig or the next party, he has worked hard to not become too attached to anyone or anything. So he is shocked to find himself drawn to the snarky girl with a chip on her shoulder. She pisses him off and puts him down. He knows she’s nothing more than a self-entitled college brat who thinks she’s better than the townie boy without a future.

Alcohol and a hefty dose of lust leads to a night both Riley and Garrett immediately regret. Her embarrassment, his pride and the weight of rumors and misconceptions convince Riley and Garrett that their one-time indiscretion will never be repeated. Particularly when their harshest critics are each other.

But how do you reconcile a head that wants to let go with a heart that keeps holding on?

And what happens when your biggest regret begins to seem almost perfect?
