Review: Sexual Awakenings series by Angelica Chase

The Waltz

After sacrificing years of my life on a cheating husband, I'd had enough. I set out to quench a thirst I had ignored for years. I gave myself one year to explore my sexuality—to delve into my deepest, darkest desires. With nothing to lose and everything to gain, I would have my sexual revolution. I would have my … awakening.

Unsure of where to start, I took a risk to make myself seen. Little did I know, the man who saw me would give me everything I ever wanted, one sweet orgasm at a time.
Diving into the world of both pleasure and pain, I was sure with Rhys I had found what I’d been missing … until he took it away.

***FILTHY EROTIC ROMANCE. For Mature Audiences only. Extremely Explicit Sex. Strong Language.

The Tango

Weeks passed without hearing from Rhys; then I received a text that shook me to my core.

The Barracks. One hour. RED

I lied, he’s angry, and I’m about to pay for my lie with a pound of flesh.

RED.

I wasn’t supposed to fall for him. He blurred the lines and I stepped right over. Now I was facing his wrath, and my undeniable feelings for him. I had to find a way to make things right.

RED.

Rhys felt threatened by my secret, but little did I know, he was hiding one of his own.

FILTHY EROTIC ROMANCE.

The Last Dance

Rhys

I was on my way out of the life when she came barging in with her new appetite and unrealistic expectations of what a Dom should be. All I had left to do to break free was sell the club and walk away. Now I found I had something to walk toward. And for the first time in my life, I hoped I’d be enough for a woman.

Caring for a woman was easy for me. I had always cared for different women for different reasons. Loving a woman had always been quite a bit harder.

Doms don’t have to say I love you.

Violet

The last two months of my life had altered me in ways I could never have imagined. When I set out to discover myself sexually, I never expected to fall in love with the only man who calmed my world and both tortured and soothed my senses. I'd been snapped out of my fantasy by the latest slap of reality.

Little did I know … reality wasn't finished with me yet.

Curtains

It’s not him, it’s her.

Violet

Rhys had just torn my heart apart with his admission. A common
bond—one that had completely ruined my former life and forever altered his—was once again threatening to destroy my world. I hate our pasts, and right now, I hate him for his.

Rhys

She blames me for the truth—a truth I had no idea existed.
I've tried to protect her from the ugliness that came with loving me. I don't know if she will ever move on from what I never saw coming.

4 Star Review by Jen Skewes

Sexual Awakenings is a four part novella series that I just loved.  It is erotica so yes the scenes were steamy and sexy.  But while there was a lot of sexy scenes, there was also emotion and a connection between the two characters which I love.  This review is going to be for all four parts as I read this novella series one right after the other with no breaks in between.

Violet has been alone for the past year.  Well not alone in the sense that she has no one.  She is in a marriage that is going no where fast.  Her husband is cheating on her and has been for at least a year.  He is hardly home and when he is it’s almost as if she is living with a complete stranger.  She has tried to fix her marriage, doing everything she possibly can in hopes that she save what they have together.  But as much as she tried she just does not feel like she is enough for him and it is time to just end it.  She is done and plans on asking for a divorce ad moving on.  She wants to take time to herself and be able to explore another sexual side of her.  She meets a man on the internet and decides to actually meet him in person.  One night with him completely rocks her world.  That one sexual experience is unlike any that she has ever had before.  And she wants to go back for more.

Rhys has been living the BDSM lifestyle for quite some time.  He has been a Dom to may Subs in the past.  But all it has ever been is just a sexual relationship and nothing more.  He has always been upfront with them.  He is just not the guy to fall in love and live happily ever after.  And then he meets Violet and something sparks inside of him.  Rhys and Violet are looking for nothing more than a sexual relationship.   But can they both keep their emotions out of it?

This series is hot and steamy and I loved Rhys and Violet together  I am not going to lie there were times when Ryhs pissed me off but I still managed to forgive him and love him.  The biggest issue in their relationship was honesty, which in my opinion is very important in a relationship.   And honestly given what these two went through in their past your would think that they would be a little more open. But I guess given their past they also felt the need to protect themselves and had trust issues.   Rhys and Violet were so sexy together and had a connection that was more than sexual.    You felt the connection between them and wanted to see them move past the sexual part of their relationship.  They had many obstacles to face.  Their pasts collided in a way that not even I saw coming.  There were secrets that needed to be told that would surprise you.  I was on the edge of my seat wondering where their story would go and if they would make it.  The sex was HOT!!!  Violet had a sexual side to her that she never knew existed, thanks to Rhys.  If you are looking for a quick read that is erotica but at the same time has a love story in between then this is the perfect series for you.  I am looking forward to more from this author.
