Blurb:

Can you keep a secret?

I grew up sick.

Let me clarify.

I grew up believing that real love stories include a martyr or demand great sacrifice to be worthy.

Because of that, I believed it, because I made myself believe it, and I bred the most masochistic of romantic hearts, which resulted in my illness.

When I lived this story, my own twisted fairy tale, it was unbeknownst to me at the time because I was young and naรฏve. I gave into temptation and fed the beating beast, which grew thirstier with every slash, every strike, every blow.

Triple Falls wasn’t at all what it seemed, nor were the men that swept me under their wing. But in order to keep them, I had to be in on their secrets.

Secrets that cost us everything to keep.

That’s the novelty of fiction versus reality. You can’t re-live your own love story, because by the time you’ve realized you’re living it, it’s over. At least that was the case for me and the men I trusted my foolish heart to.

Looking back, I’m convinced I willed my story into existence due to my illness.

And all were punished.⁣⁣

Wow!  Just wow!!  I am not even sure where to begin, other than to say that my mid is blown.  If you have read the blurb you know that it is very vague.  If you have read one of Kate Stewart’s books, you know that you should hang on tight, because it is about to be a bumpy ride.  Flock is hot and sexy, angsty, mysterious and completely twisted.   And I loved every minute of t.  From the prologue alone, where you are left hanging in the preset, wanting to know what happened to get the heroine where she is today.  I had no idea what I was in for.  Well that’s actually not true.  I knew with Ms. Stewart writing this I would be in for one hell of a ride.  And boy was I.

I am not going to say a thing about the storyline at all.  Which is rare for me.  But this is truly one of those books that you need to go in completely blind.  Trust me, you will either thank me or kill me later…..lol  Seriously though this book was fantastic.  I am not even sure words can describe what I felt while reading it.  Everything about this book will make your head all twisted.  Who can you trust?  What is the big secret?  Where is this story going?  All these thoughts running through my head.  And just when I thought I knew where it was going, I was so wrong.

Kate Stewart’s writing in this book is flawless.  The story is brilliant and one that will make you feel it ALL.  There are some really hot and steamy scenes, where you may need a moment to stick your head in the freezer to cool down.  But it wasn’t just the hot scenes that make this book.  It is the suspense of it all, trying so hard to figure out what is going on, and who are these people.  I was on the edge of my seat the entire time.  I devoured this book.  Every free minute I had where I wasn’t being a mom or wife, was spent reading Flock.  And the end!!!  I am still trying to figure out what just happened and all I know is that I need Exodus like now!!.  And don’t worry you will not have to wait long for it.

When you read this book, sit down in your favorite reading spot with your favorite drink and get ready to be submersed in this book, these characters.  And most importantly get ready for the ride.  Because Kate Stewart, the genius that she is, outdid herself with this one!!

Release Blitz: Knox by Prescott Lane

From USA Today bestselling author Prescott Lane comes a standalone second-chance romance between a Hollywood heartthrob and the small-town girl he left behind…

Knox by Prescott Lane is now live!

Sexiest man alive, scene stealer, Hollywood headliner.

That's what the world calls him. I've got more colorful names for him, all of which would be bleeped out if I was on air doing my radio show. Even if he hadn't broken my heart, he would just be Knox to me. Not a famous movie star.

Just a boy.

The boy who grew to be my first love.

That is, until he ripped my heart out of my chest and stepped on it, live on the red carpet.

I thought that was all behind me. Until he decided to come waltzing back into my life. Granted, he looked hot as heck doing it, but that's neither here nor there.

He may have acted alongside some of Hollywood's hottest "it" girls, but being my leading man is a much harder part to win.

Review by Jen Skewes

A Hollywood love story, a second chance romance and it’s written by Prescott Lane?  Sign me up!!!  I think it’s been a little while since I have read a book by Ms. Lane. So, when I saw that she was releasing a new book I could not eve tell you how excited I was.  I honestly didn’t even need to read the blurb, because I knew I was reading it, regardless of what it was about.  And one case Ms. Lane did not disappoint!  I devoured this book in one day, and it’s been a while since I have done that.  From the moment I started reading, I did not want to put this book down.  And when I was finished I wanted to go back and read it all over again, just so U could hold onto these characters.  That is how much I loved this book!!!

Knox and Mae met when they were six years old.  She was visiting her grandmother who lived across the street from Knox.  Mae walked herself across the street to say hello to Knox and then did something that shocked him but is also the reason that the two of them became best friends.  Even if they didn’t live near each other, they were constantly in contact.  They had the sweetest friendship until it became more.  But then Knox went off to become an actor and completely broke her heart.  It’s been five years since that night and she never expected to see or hear from him again.

Knox Merrick is now a famous Hollywood actor.  Mae still lives in the small town that they met in.  She has her own radio talk show where no one knows her real identity.  They were just six years old when they first me. It’s been five years since that night, and also the last time that she spoke to or saw him.  Until one night she takes a phone call on her show and it’s the voice that she never expected to hear again.  Knox Merrick is on the other line and she has no idea why.  And if that wasn’t confusing enough, he is back in town and is looking for her.  Mae is still hurt over what he did.  Knox wants her back and regrets what happened every day.  Will she give Hollywood’s hottest star a second chance?

First of all, I completely adored Knox.  Yes, he screwed up 5 years ago, but he has never stopped loving Mae and will do everything to prove to her how much he loves her, and how sorry he is.  He is a Hollywood star but at the same time he is not so much your typical Hollywood playboy.  There is still a part of the small hometown kid in him, and being with Mae, wanting to protect her and love her, makes you see that.

I loved Mae and how she did not give in so easily.  She was hurt and she was not about to let him back in her life so quickly.  I loved her relationship with her grandmother, and I loved how she sticks up for herself.

Knox and Mae belonged with each other.  There was never a doubt.  Mae just needed a little more convincing.  The way Knox showed her how much he loved her and all that they have been through was absolutely heart melting.  It was so sweet and thoughtful and showed his love.

Prescott Lane has been one of my favorite authors for some time bow.  And Knox is the exact reason why I love her writing.  It is filled with swooning moments, laughter, sexy times, and just the right amount of drama ang angst.  The pace at which their story was written was perfect.  The way we were brought back in time to experience the special moments between them was done in such a unique way and just added that much more to the story.  I loved every part of this book.  I devoured this book in one day which has been rare for me of late.  I was completely submerged in their story and never wanted to let go.  Knox is a  flawlessly written second chance love story that make you feel all of the feels.  I cannot wait for Ryder’s book

Review by Jen Skewes

The Bailey series is one of my favorite series.  I have fallen in love with each member of the Bailey family and their significant others.  Throughout this series we have seen the true meaning of family.  This is a tight knit family who is always there for each other.  We have not only watched them fall in love but also seen them all grow as well.  This is Kingston and Stella’s book and I could not wait for this one.  We knew they had a history and that things ended badly for them, but we had no idea what that past was.  Well now we get to find out everything that happened and why they have not spoken since Stella left town.

Kingston knew from the moment Stella walked into his classroom that he was in love with her.  But they always remained best friends.  It was always Kingston, Stella and their other best friend Owen.  Until Owen and Stella started dating, leaving Kingston feeling heartbroken and therefore putting a wedge between them all.  Stella did not want to come between the two best friends, and left town to go to college.  When her mother need her help, she finds herself back in the small town that she grew up in.  But just because she is back in town does not mean that she wants everyone to know, especially Kingston.   She manages to hide it from him for a while until he finds himself in the hospital and Stella is his doctor.  He shocked and not too happy with her.  But at the same time all those feelings that he had for her are still there.  Trying to win the heart of the only girl that you have ever loved, the one that got away, even if you never really had her in the first place, is not going to be easy.  But Kingston is up for the challenge.

I loved Kingston and how much he loved Stella.  He tried so hard to pretend that he was ok with her being back in town and dating his biddy from work.  He also tried very hard to convince himself that being friends would be ok.  But you knew that it was all a lie.  You could feel how much he loved her and wanted a change with her.  But they had a lot to work out before that could even happen.  Those are the moments that I loved.  Seeing the two of them opening u about their pasts, their feelings back then and what happened between them, are the moments that get you.  Those are the emotional parts of the story.  Especially when we go back in time and see how their story unfolded.

Piper Rayne doesn’t just give us the emotional side of this story, we still get to see the humor and wit that we all love.  Kingston and Stella together have an undeniable chemistry.  They just fit perfectly together.  Their story was sweet and sexy.  It had those moments where you hurt for them and the moments where you could not stop smiling even if you tried.  It was everything I could have hoped for.  We still get to see and catch up with the rest of the family which I love.  And of course, there is no shortage of Dori’s antics.  Another great Bailey book.  I cannot wait for the next one.

Review by Jen Skewes

Dismount is the book that I and anyone else that has read this series has been waiting for.  Lucia Franco has outdone herself once again.  She is master at twisting your heart to the point that it cannot twist any more.  Her writing throughout this entire series has been nothing short of brilliant.  And Dismount is no different.

I think my biggest question going into this book is how it will all end.  That was honestly my question throughout the entire series.  Giving the age difference and now knowing that Ria’s father is aware of their relationship, it seems that things can only go wrong from here.  Of course, our questions are answered but this story completely went in a direction that I did not see coming at all.  I was all ready for this to start off as Ria and Kova against the world.  While I will not say what happens I will say this, get ready for a very bumpy ride.  My emotions once again were all over the place.  I hurt so much for these two characters.  I hurt for them on so many levels, as a couple and as an individual.  I mean how much more can these two go through.  Haven’t they been through enough?   I think knowing Lucia Franco we can all agree what the answer to that question is.

We were left hanging in Twist in a really big way.  Not only did her father find out about her and Kova, but there was also a physical altercation that left Ria hurt and her father finding out she was pregnant.  Ria is in the hospital and she has no idea where Kova is or what has happened to him, other that her father will make sure that he has no part in her life at all.  Ria needs Kova in so many ways.  Her health is deteriorating, and she is about to find out if her dreams of competing in the Olympics will come true.  Without Kova can she even get through it all?  Will her father find it in his heart to at least let him coach her through it all?  Will Kova and Ria ever get their happily ever?  So many questions and you will get all the answers once you read Dismount.  I am zipping my lips send not saying another word about the story itself.

Dismount, just like the four books before it, had my emotions up and down and my heart torn in shreds.  There are highs and lows, heartache and happiness, raw and intense moments where you are so afraid to turn the page and see what happens next.  These characters lay it all out, the raw emotions that they feel, the intensity of their relationship.  Some may say that their relationship is toxic, and maybe they are right, but there is no denying how deep their love it, how passionate they are together, how their feelings for each other are so intense that you are not sure if one can live without the other.  Nothing about their relationship is easy, except for maybe their love, because that just seems to come naturally for them.  They love with everything that they have.

Let me first say that as a mother, if I was in Ria’s father’s position I would have done the same thing that he did.  Yes, in the real world everything about their relationship is wrong, and I have said from the beginning that this book tests all my morals and my sanity as well.  But in this fantasy book world that we have all immersed ourselves in, it feels so dam right.  And that is the reason that her father completely frustrated me. Because as someone who loves to read age gap romances, I want the fantasy.  I watched these two fall in love, I watched them go through so much pain and heartache, I watched them risk so much, and all I wanted was for them to find their happily ever after.  There were times when I questioned Ms. Franco and where she was going with this story.  I worried that maybe this couldn’t turn out the way I wanted.   I swear my heart was in my throat from the very first page to the last.  I devoured this book and did not want to put it down.  I loved that we got to see so much more than just Kova and Ria.  There is more to this story and I loved that we got to see the other parts to this story.  Kova completely broke my heart in this one, and I swear after reading this book there is no doubt that he loves her and that they were meant to find each other.

I gave this one 5 stars, because of everything it made me feel and because of the direction this book went.  It was the perfect ending.  And the chapters leading up to the end were perfectly written.  My one issue was I felt that there were a few loose ends that needed to be tied up and I may have wanted a little more after the last chapter.  But other than that, Dismount is the perfect ending to this roller coast of a series.  Lucia Franco, you completely blew me away with this entire series.  When you find out there will be five books, sometimes you think how much more story could be told and will I give up after book 3?  But after each book I wanted, no I needed more.   I am so sad to have to say goodbye to Kova and Ria.  It was a bumpy ride, but so worth it!!!  I really hope that one day soon we get Xavier and Avery’s story!

Release Blitz: The Rivals by Vi Keeland

Title: The Rivals
Author: Vi Keeland
Genre: Standalone Contemporary Romance
Release Date: July 13, 2020

Blurb

The feud
between Weston Lockwood and me started at the altar.
Only
neither of us attended the wedding, and the nuptials happened decades before
either of us was born.
Our
grandfathers had been best friends and business partners, at least up until my
grandfather’s wedding day—when his bride-to-be blurted out she couldn’t marry
him because she was also in love with Weston‘s grandfather.
The two men
spent years fighting over Grace Copeland, who also happened to be their third
business partner.  But in the end, neither man could steal half of her
heart away from the other.
Eventually,
they all went their separate ways.  Our
grandfathers married other women, and the two men became one of the biggest
business rivals in history.
Our fathers
continued the family tradition of feuding.
And then Weston and I did, too.
For the
most part, we kept as much distance as possible.
Until the
day the woman who started the feud died—and unexpectedly left one of the most
valuable hotels in the world to our grandfathers to share.
Now I’m
stuck in a hotel with the man I was born to hate, trying to unravel the mess
our families inherited.
As usual,
it didn’t take long for us to be at each other’s throats.
Weston
Lockwood was everything I hated: tall, smart, cocky, and too gorgeous for his
own good.  We were fire and ice.
But that
shouldn’t be an issue. Our families were used to being at war. There was just
one minor problem, though.   Every time
Weston and I fought, we somehow wound up in bed.

Review by Lisa Kane

Sophia Sterling is heading to New York from London. Her longtime boyfriend dumped her and she's ready to take on a new challenge. She's talented, smart and savvy but never seems to come up to her father's expectations. She's good, but never great.

When she barely makes her flight, who does she find sitting in her seat? Weston Lockwood, her sworn enemy. Their family's history of rivalry started several generations ago. Both their grandfather's were in love with Grace, although she loved both of them, she couldn't commit to just one. Once united, forever divided. Although, years ago there may have been one night when Sophia and Weston got down and dirty with their hatred for each other.

Grace left a dynasty with the Countess Hotel. Each family was left a part of the hotel, and Sophia and Weston must work together. The ultimate goal is for each family to out bid the other in order to secure a majority stake in the hotel.

While from a visitor's perspective, the grand hotel appeared in tip top shape, it had a laundry list of major issues that had been building over a long period of time.

They might both protest that they are nothing but rivals, but there is a bubbling cauldron in both of them. Which leads to lots of hate sex. (sometimes a little too much hate sex) Weston's family has issues, and he is scarred by his youth. His demons led him to make bad choices, but he is trying to find his own way. He too is undervalued by his family. They have never supported him, but he craves their approval.

"Hey Soph?" Weston said.
I looked up.
He grinned. "I've been waiting a while to use this one. Parting is such sweet swallow."

Two broken souls, that are drawn together like magnets, both testing the waters but afraid to wade in too deeply in these uncharted waters. In between bouts of angry sex, they come to respect each other, they bring out the best in one another.

Weston Lockwood was a walking dichotomy, and I enjoyed the friction just as much as I enjoyed the smooth.

But secrets can lead to broken hearts and misunderstandings. Expect to feel a little tightening around your heart.

My heart didn't want to walk away. So instead, I'd have to put a double lock on that door to make sure it didn't accidentally crack open again.

Weston, being a man, is going to screw up. Big time. But also being a man, he isn't about to let the best thing that's ever happened to him, slip away!

Her anger was like my flint, and I was the little boy who liked to play with matches. But in this moment, I realized it wasn't her anger I'd been attracted to at all-it was her strength.
