Release Blitz: Faking it With #41 by Piper Rayne
Fake.
Being the heir to Jacobs Enterprises, I’ve been around fake people my entire life. I promised myself a long time ago that I wouldn’t change for anyone. Which is the only reason I’m a professional hockey player who lives on the beach and does as he pleases without answering to anyone—except my father.
And now, my daughter.
Being a single dad wasn’t in the plan but after a one-night stand who took off after the baby was born, this is my reality.
My dad’s been harping on me to quit hockey and join the company for years and now that I’m a father, he’s only intensified his efforts. Until he makes me a deal I can’t refuse.
Insert Lena Boyd, the Jacobs’ family PR rep. She’s beautiful and intelligent and not at all the woman for me—ask anyone.
My dad needs us to act happily engaged and sell the idea that we’re in love. If we’re successful I won’t have to join the family legacy—ever. Of course, I agree.
That’s when things get complicated. I thought I had her all figured out until I found out there was more underneath her judgmental sneers and eye rolls. It feels like everything is coming together for the future I really want—with Lena—until my past ruins everything.

Review by Jen Skewes
If there is one thing I love it is a sexy hockey players. That is why I love this series so much. I could not wait for Ford’s story. Not only is he a sexy hockey player but also a single dad which gets me every single time.
Ford Jacobs is a trust fund kid was groomed to take over the family business one day. But he had other plans. He never wanted to be a part of the business. His passion is hockey and with hard work and dedication he made it to the NHL. But no matter how much he loves playing hockey or how good he is, his father still gives him crap about his career choice. He does not have the best relationship with his father because of this. After years of dealing with his father’s disappointment, there is finally a way to get him off his back and for him to accept that he will never work for the business. While it sounds great, there is a huge catch. Ford and Lena Boyd, his family’s PR rep, must pretend to be engaged, then get married and once the sale of the family business goes through they can proceed with a divorce. This sounds absolutely ridiculous to the both of them. But at the same time very tempting for both.
Lena has been working for the Jacobs family for a few years. She knows the type of guy that Ford it. Afterall it has been her who has cleaned up his messes. He likes to party, have a good time as well as one-night stands. Until he finds out that he is going to be a father and that completely changes everything,. Lena is not sure going through with this plan will work, but accepting this deal could change so much for her. I think the biggest fear is falling for Ford and getting hurt when this is all over. Maybe Ford has changed, maybe he is no longer the man that she knew him to be. Guess she will soon find out!!
I loved this book and I think for me Ford is my knew favorite player for the Florida Fury. This is a guy that lived the life. He had his share of women, had fun doing it. But now that he is a father, he truly has changed. His daughter is his life. And watching this man become mush when it comes to his little girl, watching him change his ways and become an amazing Dad will just melt your heart and maybe turn you on at the same time.
Lena was the perfect match for Ford/. She comes across as this shy woman who dresses more like a woman who is much older than she is. But deep down, while she does have some insecurity issues, she is strong and independent and when it comes to those intimate moments with Ford, she is anything but shy. She has another side to her that I loved!!! She is completely smitten with his daughter and cannot help but fall for Ford.
I loved the banter between the two of them. There is something so sexy and swoony worthy about a guy manning up and becoming this amazing single dad. He was sweet and sexy all in one. Lena was the one woman who could make him want more. Their relationship was both physically and emotionally perfect. Both having their own insecurity issues but learning how to communicate and work through them. I astutely loved this book and Ford and Lena. And as always it is great to see the rest of the Fury crew that we love. Cannot wait for the next one.

Book Blurb:
I joined Jameson Force Security for three reasons: the missions, the danger, and the money. I definitely didn’t join the team to be an overpriced babysitter for a spoiled princess. Ask anyone who knows me, and they’ll tell you Jackson Gale is an adventurer through and through. Yet here I am, halfway across the world, watching over Princess Camille of the House Winterbourne. Even her name sounds stuck up. After arriving in Bretaria, I realize that Princess Camille is nothing that I expected. Beautiful, smart, and sophisticated, Camille is the very picture of elegance and grace. But under her perfect façade, she is funny, adventurous, sexy as hell, and impossible to resist. And that is a dangerous combination. The closer Camille and I become, the more obvious it is that while she and I are compatible in many ways, our destinies are not. She has a duty to the monarchy, and I’m just an average American who’s fallen for a princess. Everyone says we can’t be together, but how does one walk away from the other half of their heart?4 stars
Review by Trinette Dungee
Jackson Gale has US Navy in his blood, as a former SEAL he’s encountered all sorts of danger. Unlike his grandfather, father and brother he has chosen not to make the Navy his life, much to his father’s dismay. He’s left behind the danger for more control over his life, and Jameson Force Security gives him that control as well as danger and adventure. However, occasionally, there are assignments that he’s not crazy about, but it comes with the job. This next assignment is one of those. While everything can’t be adrenaline pumping, the last thing he wants to do is play babysitter to a spoiled, pampered princess. But that’s exactly what his next assignment is, protecting Princess Camille Winterbourne of Bretaria…...Code Name: Tiara.
"Heavy is the Head that Wears the Crown", no one understands this more than Princess Camille Winterbourne, and she doesn’t even have the crown yet. While her status has allowed her to live a privileged life, Camille knows she has a responsibility that very few could handle. Once she turns twenty-five her responsibilities to her country will increase so she’s spending the next few weeks touring the United States, and for whatever reason her father and his current security team seems to think she needs additional security from the U.S.. At no point did she imagine her protector would be as hot as Jackson Gale, but he makes it clear he thinks she’s nothing more than a pampered princess.
Once his mission starts, Jackson realizes that Camille is nothing like he thought. Her days do not consist of sun-bathing, shopping, manicures, and pedicures. His respect for her grows when he learns Camille actually spends her days working for her family’s company, working with multiple charities, and her trip the U.S. isn’t all work. Camille is positioned for a very important role in her country and this little “babysitting job” he’s on is a little more dangerous than he thought. Once she turns twenty-five, she is officially the next in line to inherit her father’s thrown. This now puts the king and the princess in dangerous positions.
Camille has her realizations about Jackson; he’s not just a hot bod, a trained professional with no emotions. He’s has a deep love for his family and friends and his commitment to both them and his job is admirable.
I loved the relationship between the two. When they do finally give in to the temptation, it’s not all about sex. There’s a friendship and mutual respect. Both go into this relationship with eyes wide open knowing they have an expiration date. I loved that when they parted, they did so selflessly even though it killed them both because they both felt they were doing what was right for the other. This was a quick, fun read. Low, next to no angst and the chemistry between these two was obvious right from the start. Jackson’s dissatisfaction at having this assignment only leads to the semi-slow burn of these two finally connecting. There are a few weeks left of beach and pool time, so definitely squeeze this one in. The Jameson Force Security Team is seven for seven with swoon-worthy heroes with this last installment.

Blog Tour: Chasing Serenity by Kristin Ashley
She’s high heels, he’s hiking boots . . . and they’re perfect together.
Chasing Serenity, an all new steamy and emotional opposites attract stand-alone from New York Times bestselling author Kristen Ashley is available now!
New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Kristen Ashley brings a new novel in her River Rain series…
From a very young age, Chloe Pierce was trained to look after the ones she loved.
And she was trained by the best.
But when the man who looked after her was no longer there, Chloe is cast adrift—just as the very foundation of her life crumbled to pieces.
Then she runs into tall, lanky, unpretentious Judge Oakley, her exact opposite. She shops. He hikes. She drinks pink ladies. He drinks beer. She’s a city girl. He’s a mountain guy.
Obviously, this means they have a blowout fight upon meeting. Their second encounter doesn’t go a lot better.
Judge is loving the challenge. Chloe is everything he doesn’t want in a woman, but he can’t stop finding ways to spend time with her. He knows she’s dealing with loss and change.
He just doesn’t know how deep that goes. Or how ingrained it is for Chloe to care for those who have a place in her heart, how hard it will be to trust anyone to look after her…
And how much harder it is when it’s his turn.
4 Stars
Review by Lisa Kane
This one started a little slowly for me, but once it picked up, it kept my attention. Chloe Pierce is fiercely independent and has no problem letting the man she is involved with at any time, that the relationship is going nowhere. She comes across a little harsh, but that's just her nature. She's the child of two famous parents and is witness to drama and divorce and feelings that cut to the bone. But she's determined to make her own way regardless of things going on around her.Judge Oakley's parents are equally impressive, although his childhood was a lot different than Chloe's. Despite his family's objections, Judge has chosen a life of service, of working for non-profits. His work changes lives, and gives him a satisfaction that the corporate world never could.
Chloe and Judge meet under rather forced circumstances. Lots of fighting, lots of spark. Judge is not the kind of man to bulldoze his way with Chloe. He's a slow, but steady sort of guy. that works best with Chloe. Getting to know each, the hurts and the scars each carry, makes the story flow. Life is real and has wonderful, romantic moments, but it has those moments that cut to the core. The ones that we learn from, the ones that even years later, we can barely stand to remember.
I love when you, the reader get to sink your teeth into a story that captures your interest. Sometimes Chloe got on my last nerve, not to the extent that I didn't like her. Now Judge, I had no problem with that man! He's not childish, or temperamental, or self-centered. He's all man, and yet he's not obnoxious, he's comfortable in his own skin. He is the yin to Chloe's yang.
There are so many secondary characters that frame this story. I'm willing to bet that almost all of them have colorful, rich stories dying to be shared. There's plenty of material to keep this series going for years to come!

Excerpt
Considering the fact he’d brought in a coffee for his buddy, Rix, who managed the store, Judge was down on the floor where Rix’s office was, not on the top floor where his was, so he saw her when she walked into the shoe section.
He’d dated Meg.
And before Meg, there was Jess.
And before Jess, there was Kimberly.
They all had different color hair, Meg and Jess were tall, Kim was not.
But even so, Judge had a type.
He knew it.
And that woman who’d strolled up to the shoe displays?
She was his type.
Multiplied by a thousand.
Christ, she was beautiful.
And bad news.
He could tell that last by the outfit, including her ridiculous, high-heeled booties.
He’d worked at River Rain Outdoor stores for nine years—starting as a sales associate when he was still going to college and advancing to director of the Kids and Trails program.
In all that time, he didn’t think he’d ever seen a woman walk into any of their stores wearing shoes like hers.
And when he came down again a half an hour later to hit Rix’s office to make some copies because the copier in the corporate offices at the top level was busted, he noticed she was still there.
He also noticed he had further evidence she was bad news.
That evidence?
The sheer number of boxes of boots that she was trying on scattered around her.
She looked like she’d not set foot on a hiking trail in her life.
And she looked like she was there because she’d already trolled through all the boutiques around the square, but this hadn’t assuaged her shopping fix, because nothing really did.
Therefore, there was a possibility, after making a member of staff bring her fifteen pairs of shoes, she’d walk out not buying anything.
She’d do this not thinking a thing of it.
However, he noted some of the boots she was trying on were riding boots, and Judge could see that round ass of hers in the saddle on top of a horse.
Wearing a riding habit.
Even if she was trouble, and he had not the slightest interest (or he was telling himself that), he couldn’t keep his eyes off her.
Because he was a moron.
That said, she caught his gaze every time.
So he was looking.
But so was she.
His instincts proved true when he came down for the third time with more to copy, and he again walked through the shoe section to get to the office in the back. Doing this close to where she was seated, still trying on boots, because, yes, in the fifteen minutes between then and now, he had not stopped being a moron.
And again, she caught his gaze.
He had no clue why, but as her gorgeous hickory brown eyes hit his, he muttered, “Nice booties.”
Her back shot straight, and she demanded, “What did you just say?”

Finn Sanderson.

Staying with him is a temporary thing. But when our fighting turns into laughter and our friendship turns into something more, will I fight for a man who swears he's hard to love? Or is it wiser to walk away? To follow the plan?

Stevie Lancaster.
Top-seeded US tennis player. Good girl gone bad. The woman currently about to throw her career away. And now my problem.
The compensation to "babysit" her is great, but she isn't worth my trouble.
But when her world falls apart and she has no one else to turn to, I try to be a good guy by gathering her up and hiding her from the media's eye.
Now she's in my house, in my space, and even though I'm enjoying the side benefits of this unexpected arrangement, surely she's better to leave when the time comes and follow her destiny. Because I'm not the man she needs. Not the man she could love. Right?

Review by Jen Skewes
This is the final installment of the Play Hard Series. If you have read any books in this series then you have already met Finn Sanderson, and possibly hated him as I did. But I cannot even believe I am saying this! After reading his story any dislike that I had for the man completely vanished. We find out what makes him the man he is today and see that he isn’t such a bad guy after all, and dare I say even sexy!!!!
Stevie Lancaster is at the top of her game. She is one of the top tennis players, who is hard working and focused. Until she loses the one person in her life who has been there for her, guided her, loved her and was her everything. After losing her father she is lost. The hard-working tennis player has become this reckless girl whose name has been all over the papers and not for good reasons. Her team knows that they need to bring in a reinforcement to help get her back on track. She’s not really on board with it, especially when she comes face to face with the man who she thought she would never lay eyes on again.
Finn is a sports agent who is all work and well sometimes play. He is a player, never does relationships and is just fine with one-night stands. His biggest priority is his job and keeping his clients happy. When he gets a call from his mentor to step in and help straighten Stevie out, he is hesitant to take the offer. But this is the guy who was there for him when he first started his career. He owes him so much, which means if he has to babysit some tennis player who is out of control he will. It may not be easy to tame here, but it will be harder to keep his feelings out of it.
Finn and Stevie have chemistry that is simply undeniable. They are both very attracted to each other which was evident in that one night they were together. But they are both very guarded people and in their own way broken. Stevie’s world was turned upside down when her father died and living life without him proves to be very difficult. Finn on the other hand is this very closed off individual who owes his view on relationships and woman to his father. They are about to spend a lot of time together. Neither one of them happy about the situation. But could that be because they both have feelings for each other that they cannot seem to admit or come to terms with? Possibly!!
I loved Finn in this book which I wasn’t sure was possible. He was sexy and caring and after understanding why he was such a playboy; just made you love him more. When it comes to Stevie you see how genuine of a person he really is and that just maybe he does have a heart.
Stevie is this person who not only has amazing talent but is also strong and beautiful and right now is a little lost. She has a lot to deal with emotionally, but she is a string woman who when she puts her mind to it can really come back out on top.
I really loved this book. Finn and Stevie were so perfect together. They were hot and steamy, fun and sweet and I loved the banter. I do wish there was a little more of them together and more emotional moments between them. But aside from that this was a great finish to this amazing series.

Review by Jen Skewes
From the moment I finished the first book, I loved this series and quickly started the next one. After each book I fell more in love with the Aldridge men and could not wait for Vance’s book. I knew it would be he last of the series which meant we would get to read the letters from their father. But my excitement for this book was really due to Vance himself. He’s the quiet brooding, mystery type of guy that you can’t wait to read all about. You want to dig deep and find out why he is this way, what gets under his skin, why is he so guarded and most importantly, will the man who seems to have no feelings, fall in love?
Vance is an ex-military guy whose life seems to be a mystery to all. Throughout this series we wonder where he goes and what exactly did he do before coming to Bakers Creek. We eventually find all that out, but now Vance must face his past, face what recently happened with Beacon and figure out what is next for him. I order for him to continue working for The Organization he must see a therapist. While he seems against it and feels like it won’t do any good, he surprisingly comes to like seeing him and talking to him. But it is Darren Russell that manages to flip Vance’s world upside down.
Darren is a neurosurgeon who is hired by the Aldridge family to help Beacon recover. They offer him a position in Baker’s Creek, which means he must quit his practice and move to this small town. But it just may be exactly what Darren needs in his life. And spending time with the sexy Vance is a big plus. Darren is flirty, hot, has no filter and talks a bit too much for Vance’s liking. He gets to him, but he has no idea why. Well, I think we know why, it’s just something that Vance does not want to admit.
Vance is a man that does not know how to feel. He is used to one-night stands and casual sex. Darren has no interest in relationships and has been hurt badly in his past. Seems to me that they are perfect for each other. But then feelings get in the way and they also get hurt. Will Vance find his happily ever after.
I loved Vance and Darren together. It was like Darren was the light to Vance’s dark. Vance did not know how to love or feel. He was programmed a different way growing up. He is guarded and not very open with his life or feelings. Whereas Darren is outgoing, flirty, fun and it made for great banter between the two of them. I loved watching the two of them slowly falling for each other and realizing that what they had was more than just casual. They both managed to peel back each other’s layers and helped each other move on from the past.
What I especially loved was the relationship that Vance had with Dr. Sanders. He had a way with Vance that helped him understand himself better and finally be able to pen up to someone. I also loved the relationship between Hayes, Henry, Peirce and Vance. We see these boys really come together and become a family. A family that teases each other but also supports them and is there for them. I love all of the Aldridge boys, but it was those three that we saw the most in this book. This was the perfect ending to this fantastic series.

He is there with a helping hand when she needs it. He is kind and patient and completely understands her situation and what she is feeling. Everything that she wants in a man, but why is she still holding back?
Stevie has been hurt bad, but I also think that she is still trying to find herself. She is now dependent upon herself and no one else. And as she thinks back to the years she was with her ex; she is finding more and more that he was not the right one for her. She lived her life to please him and not herself. Meeting Fletcher has opened up her eyes to so much, especially when it comes to what she deserves n life and moving on as well.
Fletcher is a single dad who noticed Stevie the moment she moved across the street. But this is not exactly the first time that he noticed her. He wants to help her in any way that she can. He also wants more than just a friendship but knows that it needs to be done at Stevie’s pace. He is the gentlest, kind, good hearted man who happens to also be very sexy. My goodness is he sexy!!!
I really enjoyed this book. I enjoyed seeing the growth in Stevie and how she had to come to terms with her divorce and falling in love again on her own. But I also loved the connection she had with fletcher. It was a very slow burn between the two of them, which I loved. But for me there was a little something missing with this one. I think for me personally I wanted Fletcher’s POV. There were so many times that I wanted to know what he was thinking and feeling. I also hoped for more interaction between them and with his son as well. More of the emotional connection and less inner monologue.
This was my first book by this author. I enjoyed this book and loved the characters. I cannot wait to read more from her.
