Release Blitz for Sawyer Bennett's North (Pittsburgh Titans)

New Release North (Pittsburgh Titans, Book #16) Sawyer Bennett

Synopsis:

New to the Pittsburgh Titans but no stranger to relentless ambition, North Paquette knows exactly how to put in the work to ensure the win. But this time, the stakes are personal because the game isn’t just on the ice. Life as a member of the Pittsburgh Titans is pretty freaking fantastic. I live in one of the best cities around, get paid to play the game I love and enjoy all the perks of being a professional hockey player. While many of those perks are because of who I am, one in particular is because of who I know. Farren Abrams wasn’t on my radar until she came to town to visit her brother Rafferty. She’s smart, sarcastic, sexy as hell and can talk hockey like a pro. So when a night out with the team became a drunken hookup with Farren, there were zero complaints from yours truly. We had our fun and then she went back home—no harm, no foul. Now she’s moved to Pittsburgh permanently and while she’s still looking for some fun, I’m starting to look for more. The more time I spend with Farren the more I like her, but to say she’s relationship averse is an understatement. Something in her past has caused her to head for the hills whenever someone gets too close, but she shuts down whenever I push for details.  When she rejects my attempts to take this thing to the next level, I’m forced to seek help from none other than Rafferty, who has no idea I’m banging his little sister.  With his assistance, I set out to do the one thing none of those chumps in Farren’s past have taken the time to do—help her face her demons and give her something worth staying for.

4 Star Review by Trinette Dungee

North Paquette is fitting in with the Titans very well. He’s playing well, his line is good and aside from the entire team, he has a good group of core friends. But North has been hiding something from his teammates, more importantly from one of his closest teammates, Rafferty Abrams. For a few months now North has been hooking up with Rafferty’s little sister Farren when she comes to town. Now Farren is in town with no return home date and doesn’t mind continuing their arrangement. Farren’s always been a restless sort of soul to him and he found it rather endearing but spending more time with her the more he realizes there is more to Farren not wanting a committed relationship. Especially when a committed relationship is what he wants with her.

To her family and close friends Farren Abrams is all about having a good time and going where her heart and desires take her. She’s not one for letting any grass grow under her feet. When it comes to relationships; when things start getting too serious it’s time for her to move on. Her most recent relationship has her fleeing her home in Canada and landing on her brother’s doorstep in Pittsburgh. It also gives her the opportunity to continue her secret hook up with her brother’s teammate and good friend, North Paquette. What her family doesn’t realize and what North uncovers is there are reasons for Farren’s relationship phobia. North is the first person in years she’s let get close to her and when North informs her that he wants more and he’s willing to come clean to her brother it sparks in her the need to flee.

I really liked North and Farren. When I first started reading, I truly thought Farren was going to be a brat. Don’t get me wrong, she definitely tested my patience with her constantly throwing sex at North when things got rough, and her extreme stubbornness but for the most part, she was pretty cool. North was nothing like I expected. I figured he would be very lackadaisical about a friends-with-benefits relationship and then maybe start to have a few feelings. What I didn’t expect was for him to be so all in so soon and be so vocal about his feelings. North was definitely the more emotionally available one in the relationship and he wasn’t embarrassed or ashamed to admit it.

When I’m reading a series, I don’t typically read the blubs of the next book, so realizing the storyline was a brother’s friend/teammate, I was expecting a bunch of angst (I’m not a fan of angst). But this storyline was low on angst, what it was high on was support. Even when it wasn’t known what the support was for, it was there. There were many things I like about this book, one being the multiple storylines. North’s and Farren’s story takes place during Rafferty’s and Tempe’s story so some of their story pops up in this book. There has also been a build up of the mystery of Penn in the past few books and we get even more information on him in this book. At no time was it ever confusing and just the right amount of information was given for those characters. So the support showed up with North and Rafferty supporting Farren. Farren, North and the team supporting Rafferty during his crisis, and the team in a very different way supporting Penn through his shenanigans in this book.

North was a perfect addition to this series. I would definitely recommend reading Rafferty before North to get the full impact of the references to Rafferty’s issues (If I’m being honest, I recommend reading the entire series in order).

Up next in the Series is Penn’s story and I can’t wait!!!
