Release Blitz: Most of All You by Mia Sheridan

"Heartbreaking...inspiring, uplifting and raw..." ― RT Book Reviews, A 5-star Gold Pick

A broken woman . . .

Crystal learned long ago that love brings only pain. Feeling nothing at all is far better than being hurt again. She guards her wounded heart behind a hard exterior and carries within her a deep mistrust of men, who, in her experience, have only ever used and taken.

A man in need of help . . .

Then Gabriel Dalton walks into her life. Despite the terrible darkness of his past, there's an undeniable goodness in him. And even though she knows the cost, Crystal finds herself drawn to Gabriel. His quiet strength is wearing down her defenses and his gentle patience is causing her to question everything she thought she knew.

Only love can mend a shattered heart . . .

Crystal and Gabriel never imagined that the world, which had stolen everything from them, would bring them a deep love like this. Except fate will only take them so far, and now the choice is theirs: Harden their hearts once again or find the courage to shed their painful pasts.

Review by Jen Hagen

I read anything by Mia Sheridan.  I don’t even bother to look at blurbs anymore because I know that whatever she puts out, I will read.  Ms. Sheridan has a way of pulling you into her stories as if you are a wayward stranger observing from the quiet places of the character’s lives.

Ellie has grown up hardened by the luck-of-the-draw her life has given her.  She was once loved unconditionally but now she is forced to question why life has brought her to the lowest point in her life.  Ellie is beautiful and smart, and has an automatic pull to her natural inward beauty, but she has not been able to get ahead in life.  But this is the only life she knows, and she is determined that she will live her life that way she always has…by putting one foot forward and going out every day to make it on her own.

Gabriel has also been a victim of unfortunate events, and because of this he was missed on out feeling many years of unconditional love.  His greatest letdown in his life has been the failure to say “I love you” one more time.  Gabriel is alone in his world, slowly making the steps toward normalcy.  It’s hard to be considered normal when just the mere thought of someone’s touch sends you into a fit of despondency.

As Gabriel has re-entered his hometown activities and daily interactions, there is still an awkward glance at him because of who he is and who he hasn’t become – he is slowly integrating back into society.

Ellie and Gabriel cross paths at the strangest of places; but yet it shouldn’t be all that strange…both their lives are cocooned in the darkness and the dark brings them comfort.  No one can judge them or see their true identities in the dark.  It’s almost an escape from the truth.  Ellie continually fights the truth in which Gabriel sees more to her than she is willing to concede, and in one night Ellie’s strong façade crumbles down – admitting to both her and Gabriel that she needs him.

“I knew you were an angel,” I whispered.  “I knew you were.” I reached my hand up and cupped his cheek, catching a tear on my thumb.  “Don’t cry, my angel.  Don’t cry.  Not for me.”  Never for me.  Speaking made me feel so tired.  I closed my eyes and let the darkness take me again.

Now Ellie and Gabriel are finding out that their lives aren’t really that uncommon – she may be a poor working girl and he may be a successful artist, but on the inside they are both victims of having their youth absconded.  They are both learning what all they missed, and what better way than with a sexy Gabriel, who resembles a cherubic angel.  I will now see a sunrise as a constant reminder that life keeps going and every day we are to see a sunrise is hope for the next day.   Gabriel has found his hope…

Loving her had begun to heal that last part of myself that still felt broken.  So I’d wait.  I’d wait for Ellie for as long as she needed me to.

I will admit that I found the first half of the book to be a little slow going.  Maybe about 60% I found myself sneaking into the pages as often as I could to find out how this was going to play out.  Gabriel’s life philosophy is profound and I’m going to end with it.  Read it slowly, read it again.  Read it and live it.… “I’m living the life I was meant to have…My life – just the way it is, for good or for bad – is the life I was meant to have.”

Release Blitz: Rewrite by Stephanie Rose

Title: Rewrite

Author: Stephanie Rose

Genre: Contemporary Romance

Release Date: October 19, 2017

Once upon a
time, a girl loved a boy and he loved her back. They lived happily ever after.

But our
story was never that simple.

I loved
Josh with all I had, right until the day he left. Now, all these years later,
he was back—and wanting me the way I’d always longed for him. Except now, I
belonged to someone else. Someone who never left me the way Josh had. I figured
that was the end of our story. I couldn’t alter the past.

I didn’t
want to rewrite my future.

Brianna was
always more than my best friend. She was the shining light in my black hole of
an existence, and I loved her with every cell and bone in my body. I wasn’t
good enough for her, though—more the villain than the hero in our fairy tale.
When I had to leave, I vowed to come back a better man—for her. But when I
finally did return, she wasn’t waiting for me anymore. She had someone new, her
very own Prince Charming. Did that mean our story was over? I couldn't change
our past.

It was time
to rewrite our ending.

Review by Jen Skewes

I am such a sucker for not only a second chance romance but I also love a friends to lovers story.   Stephanie Rose did a fantastic job with the story about two best friends who have not seen each other in ten years.  They never admitted their feelings for each other back then and they both regret it, but now is there second chance.  It is time for them to rewrite the ending to their story.  There was some drama and angst as well.  And a few twists and turns that I did not see coming!

Brianna and Josh have been best friends since they first met in Kindergarten.  They have been through everything together.  The ups and downs in their lives were dealt with together.  They love and friendship they had was their support system through life.  But when things started to get really bad at home for Josh and he found himself having to take care of things on his own, he started pushing his best friend away.  And at some point when he found himself in trouble he had no choice but to leave.  He hated leaving Bri, but in his mind he wasn’t good enough for her.  He wanted her to move on and be happy.

It has been ten years since Brianna has seen Josh.  She tried to move on in the beginning just as he told her to, but it was too hard.  The love that she has for this man never wavered, not matter what happened over the pat ten years.  She has finally moved on and is with someone else now, when Josh Falco decides to move back to town.  And he is back for her.  His has every intention of making Brianna his girl, they way is should have been all those years ago.  Bri is just getting on with her life.  She loves Josh and cannot deny her feelings, but she doesn’t want to hurt anyone.  Plus the fact that Josh left her once before leaves her heart open to being broken again.  Josh wants her happy, but he also wants her in his life forever, as more than his best friend.  Will these two best friends get the happily ever after they have both wanted with each other?

This is the first book that I have read by this author, and I loved it.  We get to see the special moments from the past that helps you to see just how special their friendship was.  I loved reading about the day that they met and how precious it was.  The writing was fantastic, there were twist and turns that I did not see coming, and ones that really made me wonder what would happen next.

Brianna and Josh belonged together.  Josh loved her and you could feel how much. He was hot and sexy but so sweet and kind.  He made some mistakes in his life but he definitely redeemed himself.  Rewrite was a beautiful love story between two best friends that will make your heart happy in the end.

“This place
is amazing, Josh.”
My chest
swelled with pride as Brianna’s widened eyes darted around the shop. Maybe it
wasn’t really my place, but Uncle
Billy trusted me enough to run it on my own. I hired the employees, handled the
books, and met with customers. He depended on me instead of waiting for me to
fuck up. The local troublemaker came back and made good, but that wasn’t such
an easy sell for everyone. Good thing I didn’t give a shit about everyone. The
only opinion that ever mattered stood in front of me, beaming with pride.
My mouth
split in a wide grin. “Thanks. It’s getting there. Hoping things pick up a
little after the holidays. No one wants a new bike when there’s an inch of ice
on the ground.” I laughed until Brianna’s face fell.
“Can I ask
you something?” She slid into the chair in my office as her lips pursed.
course.” I leaned my hip against the edge of my desk and crossed my arms.
“What’s up, Cupcake?”
“Did . . .
did you really have a new client in Manhattan last week, when you drove me to
I took in a
deep breath and exhaled slowly. “Why would you ask that?”
“Scott and I—”
She shook her head and waved her hand. “It’s nothing. Don’t mind me.”
“No.” I
nudged her ankle with my foot. “Let me guess. Scott isn’t too happy about me
hanging around so much.” I raised an eyebrow.
reluctantly nodded. “It’s a guy thing, I guess.” She chuckled to herself. “They
get territorial if someone else tries to play with their toys.” She laughed
until she realized what she said and then covered her mouth with her eyes huge.
She was so fucking cute I couldn’t stand it. “I didn’t mean play, I meant . . .” She dropped her
head into her hands, and I couldn’t hold in a laugh anymore.
Bri. I’m dying to know.” I peeled her fingers away from her face and crouched
in front of her. “What did you mean? Scott thinks I want to play with you? Don’t tell him about the
GI Joe and Barbie castle we made when we were kids. He’ll flip the fuck out.”
Her cheeks flushed as she nudged my shoulder.
I caught
her hand and held it in both of mine. As our gazes locked, laughter stopped.
There was no way in hell what I was feeling was only one-sided. I doubted it
ever was.
We didn’t
talk about it, but I remembered every moment of that night at my apartment.
Brianna rushing over to take care of me, the tortured look on her face when I
asked her to get into bed with me. It wasn’t my finest hour, but I needed her.
My soul cried out for her that night and she came, like she always did. She may
have ignored my wimpy confession, but when she said she loved me, I knew she
didn’t mean as only her best friend.
Brianna pleaded on a whisper. “Don’t, please.”
please what, Bri?” Feeling brazen, I tucked a piece of hair behind her ear and
cupped her cheek. I ran my thumb along the delicate curve of her jaw. Her eyes
fluttered, urging me on. “Don’t touch you?” I let my finger drift over her full
bottom lip. “Don’t kiss you?” I whispered with a husky rasp. Our faces were so
close, our lips brushed. Brianna’s mouth parted, and I uttered a curse under my
breath. We were so damn close. All we had to do was close that distance. Her
hand drifted up my shoulder and clutched the back of my neck.
Brianna sighed as she rested her forehead against mine. “We . . . We can’t.”
Her hand drifted down my jaw. Her hooded eyes and flushed cheeks disagreed with
the words sputtering from her mouth. I caught her hand and pressed a soft kiss
to her palm. It trembled as she took in a quick gasp.
“Yes, we
can, Bri,” I whispered as I leaned in. “You’re so damn beautiful.” Shit, I almost tasted her. She stilled
as I cupped her neck and inched closer.

About Kristen Ashley:

Kristen Ashley was born in Gary, Indiana, USA and nearly killed her mother and herself making it into the world, seeing as she had the umbilical cord wrapped around her neck (already attempting to accessorize and she hadn't taken her first breath!). Her mother said they took Kristen away, put her Mom back in her room, her mother looked out the window, and Gary was on fire (Dr. King had been assassinated four days before). Kristen's Mom remembered thinking it was the end of the world. Quite the dramatic beginning.

Nothing's changed.

Kristen grew up in Brownsburg, Indiana and has lived in Denver, Colorado and the West Country of England. Thus, she's blessed to have friends and family around the globe. Her family was (is) loopy (to say the least) but loopy is good when you want to write. They all lived together on a very small farm in a small farm town in the heartland. She grew up with Glenn Miller, The Everly Brothers, REO Speedwagon and Whitesnake (and the wardrobes that matched).

Needless to say, growing up in a house full of music, clothes and love was a good way to grow up.

And as she keeps growing, it keeps getting better.

Review by Lisa Kane

Kennedy Hayes is a spanx kind of girl. She's semi comfortable with her curves, but still feels insecure about how she appears to other people. Her cheating ex and her malicious crazy family don't help.

They have spent her whole life tearing down her confidence in order to get her to live the life they think she should live. The losers that she seems to attract only add to her self-esteem issues.
“You’re so beautiful for a bigger girl.” I couldn’t tell you how many times I had heard that non-compliment. It baffled me how anyone ever thought they were giving me kudos for managing to be pretty and thick.
But the one thing she is confidant about is her photography. She has real talent and she's slowing building a name for herself. Taking wedding and engagement pictures pays the bills but she loves architectural photography. That's her someday dream job.

But Kennedy isn’t someone who pities herself. That’s one of the things I liked about this character. She is insecure, but she still stands up for herself. (well, if you take her family out of the equation!) She’s worked hard to lose thirty pounds and is doing her best to confront her demons.
After a particularly atrocious day, she literally has a run in with a hot guy (Tucker) who helps to pick up her basket of laundry that was a casualty of their encounter. Said hottie seemed to be fascinated by her Spanx.
I think that was what annoyed me the most about Tucker. The first time I met him, he held one of my most uncomfortable, both literally and figuratively, items of clothing in his hand. While I didn’t have the same stomach that I once did, I still wore my Spanx from time to time to make me feel more comfortable, l and I didn’t need Tucker to be privy to my insecurities.

That garment set off all kinds of contrary feelings in Kennedy and although hot guy is attractive, he’s been put on the shelf by Kennedy as one who shall be avoided.
I was drowning in everything that was Tucker, and I didn’t want him to throw me a floatation device.
Hard to avoid him, since he and his buddy are now living right next door to Kennedy and her bestie Brooke. They are starting a new business and moved from Tennessee. Hot and Southern-score!
Kennedy’s luck is about to change when she is snags a photo shoot for Rock Bottom and new business that is quickly becoming the talk of the town. She and Tucker have become great friends but who will be the first to admit that they both want more than friendship?
If I allowed him to get too close, he would destroy me. I would be bottoms up before I even realized that he had spun my world around.
Bottoms Up is funny and quirky and a great read. There are some secondary characters screaming to have their stories told. Not sure if this is the first in a series, but Liam and Jase and Brooke, not to mention Sophie all are page worthy!
I, Kennedy Hayes, the girl who had never been good enough, the girl who had lived her life riddled with fear of failing, sat in a room filled with greatness.
