From New York Times bestselling author Penelope Ward, comes a new, sexy standalone novel.

It seemed like a good idea at the time. Look up Landon Roderick, that boy from childhood whom I’d never been able to forget—even though he so easily forgot about me—and call him.

Then again, anything sounds like a good idea when you’ve had a little too much wine before bed, right? It was supposed to be just a quick, meaningless, prank call. Instead, I went off on him—unloading thirteen years of pent-up emotions.

I didn’t think he’d call me back.

I certainly could never have anticipated the weeks of sexually tense phone conversations that followed as I got to know the man he’d become.

Turned out, Landon had never really forgotten me, either. That special connection we had was still there. I opened up to him, but there were also things about me he didn’t know. And he had his own secrets.

Over the countless hours we talked on the phone, I wondered what would happen if we actually saw each other. One night, I did something impulsive again. Only this time, I went to the airport and booked a ticket to California. We were about to find out if one phone call could bring two lost souls together or if my drunk dial really was all just a big mistake.

A complete STANDALONE.

Review by Lisa Kane

“I’m so flawed.”
“Yeah, well, so are some of the most beautiful diamonds. There is nothing wrong with having flaws. They’re what makes us human.”
Rana Saloomi is one tough cookie. She is a belly dancer by night and has plans to go back to school. She’s just not sure what she wants to do with her life. The one constant is a young girl named, Lilith. Rana mentors her one day a week. Lilith is sassy and smart and seems far older than her actual age of ten. After a particularly tough shift, Rana gets more than a little drunk and thinks back on her memories of Landon Roderick. It’s been thirteen years since she’s seen or heard anything about him.
I had no clue why after thirteen years, I was still thinking about that boy. Well, technically, he was a man now.
Landon and Rana were best friends. His family had money and her family rented an apartment in their garage. Her parents’ marriage was an arranged one-being immigrants this was the custom. Unfortunately, her father Eddie was a strict man, and her stay at home mom, pursued her shop-lifting hobby more than she did parenting her daughter. Money was always tight and they ended up being evicted in such a hurry that there was no goodbyes between Landon and Rana. She’s always wondered what happened to him. No doubt he’s living the good life.
It was all in my head, but somehow his happiness was a reflection of my unhappiness.
So commence the stalking to find Mr. Roderick. Which she does. Whom she then dials. Drunk as a skunk. Landon answers, she drunkenly rants, he realizes who he is talking to and gets quite the kick out of hearing from her. He lives in California, far away from Michigan where Rana still resides. But he wants to keep hearing from her.
How do you catch up on thirteen years? That background info I wrote about..that’s about the first ten minutes of the story. It was funny and witty and I thought..wait…this is a Penelope Ward book. No way is she not going to put my heart through the wringer.  Just you wait. Keep reading. Secrets and regrets are not in short supply that’s for sure. Expect the unexpected. Expect more than one WTF moment. Don’t bother lifting your jaw back up ‘cause it’s just gonna fall again.
“I have to learn to move past it. At least, I want to be able to do that.”
Drunk Dialing is a very complex story with lots of layers. People do not exist in vacuums, and our pasts are not always made up of our finest moments. Our poor decisions and actions shape who we have become. They may have cause us to suffer untold pain, but most were necessary so that we can make it over to the other side.
My choosing not to reciprocate his honesty right now was nothing short of pure cowardice.
I loved this story, I loved the angst and the pain and the joy. Landon is flawed but has no problem admitting to his screw-ups. He has a certain vulnerability when it comes to Rana and his feelings for her but he has a heart as big as Texas and would give her the world. Rana has a whole closet full of insecurities, but has made it her mission to do good things and mend fences. Her heart is equally big as Landon’s but will she be able to overcome both of their pasts?
“I don’t want to pretend with you, Rana. I love how real you are, Rana.”

Blog Tour for K.C. Lynn's Cockloft

Author: KC Lynn
Release Date: August 18, 2017

TBR Link: Goodreads

Cockloft: A firefighter term used as a structural space above ceiling and below rafters, often connecting adjacent occupancies and permitting fire to spread laterally, often unseen.

Gabriel Martinez is the most arrogant and infuriating man I’ve ever met. He has a knee-weakening smirk that makes me want to kiss—no—slap it off his rude, sexy face. Judging by his ego, you’d think the hose in his pants is as big as the one on his fire truck. Not that I know anything about that nor do I want to. Nope, not at all. He’s already been forgotten like last season’s Michael Kors.

CeCe Kensington is as pretentious and spoiled as they come. The ridiculous purses she shoulders around are as big as her attitude. And don’t get me started on her mile-long legs or full, glossy lips that are meant to be wrapped around a guy’s… If she only knew the dirty things I think about doing to that sassy mouth of hers, she'd be hightailing it back to her side of town.

✿¸.•´¸✿*´¨) ¸.•*¨✿

When the beautiful boutique owner and sexy firefighter meet in the most unlikely situation, their two worlds collide, creating an explosion of misperceptions and combustible heat, trapping them in a fire they never saw coming.

4.5 Fantastic Stars!
Review by Lisa Kane

CeCe Kensington wakes in the middle of the night by the fire alarm in her apartment building. Thinking it’s a false alarm just like every other time, she doesn’t leave. But it does seem legit, so she searches for the one thing beside her dog, Pep, which she cherishes. Digging in her closet to find her treasured memento, she’s interrupted by a gorgeous hot firefighter who has no time for her antics. She tries to explain, but he cuts her off.

“You wanna know what my problem is? My brothers need help fighting a fire and I’m stuck here with you because you didn’t evacuate like you were supposed to!”

She has to go down a ladder to get out. Gabe Martinez has already had quite the eyeful of CeCe in her skimpy panties and top. Now he has his face crotch level while she gets her to safety. There may not be any flames around them, but there sure as hell is smoke!

After their brief but unforgettable encounter, fate brings them together again, when Gabe is called out for a possible gas leak in the complex where CeCe’s business, Kensington Palace is located. CeCe has always been obsessed by fashion. She may have had a privileged upbringing but her father’s death and her own ambition are what made a success of her high-end fashion shop. Her father treated her like his princess, and she is determined to honor him.

You will always be my princess and this home is forever your palace.

Gabe comes from humble roots, and he was forced at an early age to become the man of the family. He earned every dollar he could to support his family. He has his own reasons for why he has little tolerance for rich and spoiled people.

But there’s no denying that CeCe has a burning fire that only Gabe can extinguish. So let the inferno begin!

“Miss Kensington had a wet spot in the back that needed to be taken care of.”

Cockloft is a light read, with a touch of drama and angst. Just enough to keep things interesting. Two opposites attract. But are their backgrounds and social styles too much of a barrier to make things work?

“I know you’ll always be your father’s princess but I want you as my queen.”

Release Blitz for Emma Chase's Royally Endowed

Logan St. James is a smoldering, sexy beast. Sure, he can be a little broody at times—but Ellie Hammond’s willing to overlook that. Because, have you seen him??

Sexy. As. Hell.

And Ellie’s perky enough for both of them.

For years, she’s had a crush on the intense, gorgeous royal security guard—but she doesn’t think he ever saw her, not really.

To Logan, Ellie was just part of the job—a relative of the royal family he’d sworn to protect. Now, at 22 years old and fresh out of college, she’s determined to put aside her X-rated dreams of pat-downs and pillow talk, and find a real life happily ever after.

The Queen of Wessco encourages Ellie to follow in her sister’s footsteps and settle down with a prince of her own. Or a duke, a marquis…a viscount would also do nicely.

But in the pursuit of a fairy tale ending, Ellie learns that the sweetest crushes can be the hardest to let go.
Logan St. James grew up on the wrong side of the tracks, in a family on the wrong side of the law. But these days, he covers his tattoos and scars with a respectable suit. He’s handsome, loyal, brave, skilled with his hands and…other body parts.

Any woman would be proud to call him hers.

But there’s only one woman he wants.

For years he’s watched over her, protected her, held her hair back when she was sick, taught her how to throw a punch, and spot a liar.

He dreams of her. Would lay down his life for her.

But beautiful Ellie Hammond’s off-limits.

Everybody knows the bodyguard rules: Never lose focus, never let them out of your sight, and never, ever fall in love.

Review by Lisa Kane
4 Royal Stars!!

Ellie Hammond is the sister of Olivia Hammond. The one who is married to Prince Nicholas Pembrook. She stayed behind in New York to run the family bakery while her sister chased her royal dreams. Nicholas has asked his most trusted bodyguard Logan St. James to go to New York and watch over Ellie.

“Which is why I’m asking you. Will you stay in New York? Will you help Ellie, watch over her…make sure she’s safe?

Ellie is more than a little god smacked over Logan. From the time she was a high school senior she has been smitten with him, but he is a man and she is a young girl.

Logan St. James.

Bodyguard. Totally badass. Sexiest guy I have ever seen-and that included books, movies and TV, foreign and domestic.

Not to mention, she is related to royalty and it seems bodyguards watch over royalty, but are not supposed to become involved with them.

Logan is attracted to Ellie-how could he not be, but he is guy with a long history of career criminals for relatives and he knows his place. As much as he might want that place to be next to Ellie in her bed, it’s not meant to be.

Logan may be resisting temptation but Ellie is equally determined that Logan will be hers. But how could things work between them?

“But, Ellie, if you think things will be easy now, that the two of you will simply ride off into the sunset unaffected by the realities of your situation…you should prepare yourself to be mistaken.”

Royally Endowed is funny, very sexy and quite intriguing. Who is the cat and who is the mouse? Once you finally have what you dreamed of, can you keep it?

“Happy endings are for all of us.”

Release Blitz: At Her Own Risk by Rachael Duncan

Title: At Her Own Risk
Author: Rachael Duncan
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Release: August 14, 2017

That’s all it was supposed to be. No strings attached, no feelings, no heartache.

But if I thought Sean Riley would be content having only parts of me, I was dead wrong. His persistence wore me down and I found myself in the one situation I was trying to avoid.

Little does he know a life with me will lead to nothing but disappointment and heartbreak. He’s a good man and deserves everything I can’t give him. Not because I don’t want to, but because I’m unable.

Pushing him away in the beginning was to protect me, now I’m trying to protect him as I gear up for the fight of my life.

A fight I could lose.

Getting into a relationship was my risk, but as things get worse, I’m not the only one who will have something to lose.

I just hope it’s worth it.

Review by Trinette Dungee

I don’t intend to break your heart, but you forget your feelings aren’t the only ones on the line
Holy Hell, damn that Sean Riley, he just goes straight to my heart.
Okay so reading the synopsis I figured this was going to be a one sided story, boy was I WRONG! This was a dual POV and let me tell you. Sean’s POV totally sucked me in.
Paige Stewart and Sean Riley have been dancing around each other for a few years. Sean’s brother dated and is now married to one of Paige’s best friends which means they are constantly around each other. They sexual tension between the two is crazy and Sean has been chasing Paige since the day he met her. Finally Paige gives in and the two decide on a “friends with benefits” type of thing.
What got me with this book was Sean; this guy wanted this woman, he pursued her relentlessly, he cared about her, he LOVED her. There wasn’t a time in this book where he didn’t make his true feelings known. While it may make him sound a little like a wuss, I thoroughly enjoyed it. I’m so sick of reading books where the guy wants the girl but he tries to hold back. Sean said “to hell with all of that.” This guy put his heart on the line and never took it off. Of course a curve ball is thrown at the two of them, and it comes in the form of Cancer. Sean is not only fighting Paige to make her see how much he wants her but now he’s fighting her to allow him to fight with her.
This book was sweet, funny, and emotional. I’ll admit there was more than one occasion when I had to blink back tears. I don’t typically appreciate it when book makes me want to shed a tear but this one I didn’t mind.
I don’t know that I would say this is a series but there is at least one other book (featuring Sean’s brother and his now wife); but I don’t think you need to read that book to appreciate or follow this one...at least I didn’t. I do intend to go back and read that one though (Calculated Risk). The whole Charlotte and Scarlett (two of Paige’s friends) confused me a bit (I couldn’t seem to keep them straight) but that wasn’t a major factor.

Overall, a good read that I finished in one day.

“Come back to me,” I finally plead.
She looks into my eyes and there’s so much pain I can’t stand it. “I don’t know how.” Her voice is strained as she tries to hold back the tears.
“Let me help you.” I cup her face and she leans into it.
“I just want to stop feeling this way and I can’t.” A tear falls down her cheek.
“Like what?”
She pauses and says, “Empty.”
