Review: Sin at Sea by Emma Nichols

Synopsis

When Alysin decided to surprise her boyfriend at work with dinner, the surprise was on her. Since he was going at it with his secretary on the conference table, she packed a bag and called her BFF. Jolie and Alysin had been traveling the country, working as digital nomads for ten years ever since graduation. Taking this as a sign it was time for a new move, they decided to take a cruise, regroup, and make a plan.

Then she meets Mr. Bedroom Eyes. Following her lead, they pretend to be married so that she can rid herself of the guy who started hitting on her before the boat left the dock. Though it was supposed to be a momentary arrangement, he asks her to take it one step farther. Then another and another. The cruise promises to be memorable in every way that matters.

Along the way, Alysin learns that she won't have to fake an orgasm if she's with someone who knows what to do, that not all men suck, but the best ones suck really well, and that sometimes what starts out as something pretend, can fast become something completely real. Will the woman who lives life with no regrets, regret that she made that stupid rule about not exchanging names and contact info?

4 star review  by Jen Skewes

Sin at Sea is a quick, fun, sexy and very hot read!

Alysin has just learned that her boyfriend of two years has been doing more than just working while at the office.  Yes, he has been having an affair with his secretary and Alysin finds out when she decides to surprise him one day at work with dinner.  Well the surprise was on her.  But she didn't cry, or try and figure out how they can work things out.  She told him have a nice life, making him feel like the scumbag he is and left.  And then she did what she does best, she ran.  She called her best friend and planned their next move.

Aysin and her best friend Jolie are digital nomads and basically move around whenever they feel the need, such as times like these when one of them catches their boyfriend with another woman.  They both have no issues with running, hence their motto....never settle and never settle down.  Their next adventure is a cruise for a week, where they can figure out where they move to next . But the cruise that she is on, where she is planning the next place she is going to run too, is the place where she meets Mr. BE, the man who makes her want to break any rules she has.

Mr. Bedroom Eyes (BE for short) rescues Alysin on the first day of the cruise from an unwanted admirer.  And then he comes up with a plan.  To keep all her unwanted admirers away they will pretend to be married for the week and spend their time together.  No strings attached, no names, just pretend to be married and enjoy each others company.  Well Alysin would be stupid not to take this offer from this gorgeous man, wanting to spend the week with her, in his room.  They may not know each other's names or anything about each other, but they both find themselves falling for each other. So what happens when the week is over, and the rules they made have been broken and they realize that they fell for each other?  Will their fake marriage end when their vacation ends or will they find a way to continue what they have?

This book was a quick, fun and sexy read.  I loved Mr. BE!  He wanted to be with Alysin but it seemed like it was more than just sex to him.  He wanted to romance her, not just jump in bed with her every chance he got.  He was sweet, sexy, and  charming, and I'm not so sure why he was on a cruise all by himself, but maybe I am the only one wondering that.... :)  Alysin was a strong, carefree, fly by the seat of your pants kind of girl who I loved.  Together Alysin and Mr. Be were explosive.  The chemistry was hot and the sex was even hotter.  This is erotica so there was a little bit of F/F, M/F/F, which I wasn't expecting but it wasn't too much that it stopped me from continuing the story.  Emma Nichols did a great job with the characters and the storyline for me was different, which I loved.  I honestly cannot wait to see what journey Ms. Nichols will take us on next with Alysin and BE.  Will they get a HEA?  I wonder!  Guess we will have to wait for Vixen in Vegas to find out.  Great job by Emma Nichols.
