I love Rachel Van Dyken's Seaside series. I have to admit though, there were so many characters in this story, that I had to keep going back to the previous books to keep it all straight. (Maybe a character tree like they use for family trees to make it easier!)
Ty Cuban had a bit of an incident while on stage with his band Adrenaline. To do penance, he's agreed to go to Seaside in Oregon and teach at a kids music camp. What he doesn't know is that Abigail Von, his ex, is also there.
It's been ten years since their relationship crashed and burned. Ten years since either of them has really felt alive. But Ty resents Abigail for breaking his heart. He's refused to give it to any one else-screw 'em and leave them before he can get hurt is the way he's lived his life. When Abigail left, he felt alone and abandoned. No one will ever do that to him again.
Abigail is not exactly thrilled to see him either. She's questioned her decision to leave him a hundred times. Seeing him will only dig up all the feelings she's tried to keep buried.
But things don't always work out the way we planned. It seems fate just keeps putting both of them in each other's path.
I love a good novella, they make for quick reads that pack a lot of punch without taking up oodles of reading time. Abandoned is a quick read, but has tons of angst and humor. Getting to spend time with all the secondary characters who were the main attraction in previous stories is a huge plus!
