Violet Moore is in love with a man who hates her.
Well, to be fair, she kinda deserves it.
On her eighteenth birthday, she got drunk and threw herself at him, causing a
huge scandal in their sleepy suburban town.
Now everyone thinks she’s a slut and he has disappeared. Rumor has it that he’s
been living up in the mountains of Colorado, all alone and in isolation.
But Violet is going to make it right.
She’s going to find him and bring him back.
No matter how cruel and mean he is, how much he hurts her with his cold-hearted
and abrasive ways, she won’t give up.
And neither will she think about his tempting lips or his sculpted muscles or
his strong hands. The hands that she wants on her body, touching her, feeling
her skin…
The hands that make her want to forget everything and kiss Graham Edwards – Mr.
Edwards, actually – again.
Because you don’t go around kissing your best friend’s dad, do you?
Even though that’s all you ever dream about.

Review by Jen Skewes
Saffron Kent has given us an age-gap romance which is one of my favorite books to read. A girl falling in love with an older man who also happens to be her best friend's father, makes this story even better. And angsty story that is sexy, emotional and hot!!
Violet is a sixteen year girl who has always felt invisible. Her father is never home and her mother could care less about her. There are new neighbors moving next door, a 16 year old boy and his dad.
On her 16th birthday she watches them moving in, not being able to keep her eyes of of him. After seeing him her days are filed with thoughts of him. She loves him from afar, but at the same time those feelings bring her tremendous amount of guilt, because she is in love with her best friend's father. Brian and his dad are her new neighbors. Violet and Brian have become the best of friends, inseparable. He has not idea how she feels about his father, until her eighteenth birthday where she gets drunk and kisses him. Only for Brian to witness the kiss and from there all lives are ruined. This one kiss becomes this huge scandal in their small town. Violet has not only lost her friend, I think she also lost herself. It's been ten months since that night. when she finds out where Mr. Edwards moved to, she makes it her mission to make things right. She wants to apologize for ruining his life. But when she gets there she sees that he is in bad shape. He wants nothing to do with her. He's mean to her and does everything that he can to push her away. But she does not listen. She is determined to help him. How many times does he have to push her away before she finally leaves?
I really loved this book. It was intense at times, filled with angst due to the way that Graham treated Violet. Honestly he was a competitive jerk to her, and any sane person would have walked away the minute he told her to leave. But Violet is not just any girl. Honestly some would thing she is a bit crazy, and maybe she is but she is also a kind caring, determined and brave and yet so broken at the same time. .And that is why I loved her.
Graham has his own issues and he is broken in his own way. I wanted to hate him for his attitude towards her and how he treated her, but it was almost like you saw through him, saw deep into =his should and knew that regardless of how he acted, his feelings for Violet were buried very deep that even he could not see them.
Dreams of 18 is an age-gap romance, a taboo loved story but it is so much more than that. It is a love story between two very broken people. There is is push and all between them that keeps you on the edge of your seat. Because you truly do not know how this will go. He is a man who is twice her age who is also filled with guilt for even wanting her. Due to his past he does not know how to love, at least he believe that to be true. You want to hate him, but very very slowly we are able to see his guard come down, his layers coming undone, and when they do and you see why this bitter, brooding and sexy man is this way it will make you love him. It will make you understand so much!!
This book was raw, filled with delicious angst that I loved and two people who I adored. The intimate scenes were hot, filled with very dirty talk, that made me blush. The emotional and intense moments caused me to have knots in my stomach. But there were also those moments that made me smile with happiness. If you love and angsty, emotional, intense age-gap romance then get this book now!!!
