Review: Suicide Note by Teresa Mummert

Our 4 star review

Suicide Note by Teresa Mummert was such an enjoyable, heart warming read.  It tells the wonderful story of two people getting a second chance at love.

We first meet Jenn, who is lonely and feels invisible to the world around her.  She was supposed to be marrying the man that she loved for the past two years, until he left her for another woman.  She feels betrayed and abandoned by both her ex-fiance and her familyEven her boss is a grouch who treats her poorly.  All she has to look forward to is leaving work and going home to read a bookJenn just wants to get away from it all.  Leave behind a family who just doesn't get what she is going through, forget about the two people that she trusted the most, who also happened to betray her in the worst way possible.  And leave her job that is getting her no where. But that all changes one day when fate steps in and Shane enters her life.

Shane, a soldier who is stationed in Iraq, has his own issues that he has been dealing with.  As if dealing with the everyday struggles of  being a soldier fighting for his country isn't enough, his fiance decides that being a military wife is not for her and leaves him for another man.  And yes she leaves him while he is in Iraq.   Shane is on leave for two weeks but going back home to NC is just too much for to handle right now.  So he decides to go stay with his cousin in Maine, who also happens to be Jenn's grumpy boss.  While in Maine he finds what he believes is a suicide note, and knows that he needs to help the person who is responsible for writing the note.  But what Shane doesn't know, is that the note he has found will change his life forever.

When he discovers that Jenn is the one responsible for writing the note, he vows to spend his two weeks trying to save her.  What he didn't plan on though, was falling for her.  I loved Shane, he was tough on the outside but he had a heart.  I loved the way he cared for Jenn, without even really knowing her. Jenn and Shane were so sweet and adorable together.  They had a connection, both being betrayed by the people they love.  Shane's plan was to save Jenn, but what he soon realized was that he was the one who needed the saving, and Jenn was the one to help him.  But what happens when Jenn finds out that he is going back to Iraq.  Can the love they have for each other survive the next 6 months apart?  Will the trust issues that they have as a result of their past relationships, get in the way of their happiness?

Teresa Mummert has done a wonderful job with Jenn and Shane's love story.   Their story was sweet, and heart warming, with the right amount of drama.  It is a story of two people who save each other from their past betrayals.   They get their second chance at love and happiness and through that they learn to trust again.  Suicide Note shows that everything does happen for a reason.  It was fate that brought Jenn and Shane together and it was their love for each other that kept them together.  This is definitely a must read, one that you will definitely enjoy.
