Synopsis
After a failed marriage to a domineering man, Erin refuses to be controlled by anything or anyone. That includes Seth, the father of her baby—a man who was supposed to be only a one-night-stand, a man who’s used to always getting his way.
There’s a reason that Seth Thomas, a successful defense attorney, is often referred to as the Bulldozer. If something needs to happen, he makes it happen. That includes being part of his baby’s life—even if he never expected to be a father, even if Erin doesn’t really trust him.
They’ll work out an arrangement in the best interest of their baby—and if they occasionally have sex, well, that’s just an added perk—but they both agree on one thing.
What they have will never be love.
4 Star Review
Erin is living a comfortable
life; she has a good job, a great family, a lousy controlling ex-husband who is
out of the picture. What more could she
want? When she runs into Seth at good friend’s funeral, she remembers the
feelings she once had for the quite, bad boy from high school who loved to read
the classics.
The two share a drink, Seth
is still the outcast from the town, although they begrudgingly admire the fact
that he is a lawyer. And not just any lawyer, he is a shark, and a womanizing,
successful one at that. A little too much alcohol is in bided; the two end up
in bed and the next day, part ways.
“Are you kidding,?” she
mumbled, fumbling with the buttons on his shirt. “Remember what we said about
not blowing our one chance? From now on, when I see you on a cable news show, I’ll
get to say that I fu#ked you once.”
There are some very amusing
moments as her pregnancy advances, and hormones being what they are, Seth is oh
so helpful in taking care of her urges. So thoughtful of him. Her family is a little suspicious of Seth but
her dad and sister accept him if he is going to be a help for her and the baby.
“And, on that topic, if you
need some physical release again, just let me know. I’m more than happy to
provide.”
In an ironic twist of fate,
the baby decides it’s a little reluctant to meet the world and looks as though
it’s birth will coincide with a business trip Seth has to take. What these two
don’t do to bring on Erin’s labor! After the baby is born, things get a little
angsty but the story remains quite interesting.
I really liked this novel,
the characters were multi-dimensional and the sex was off the charts. I love a
great epilogue and this one checked off all the boxes on my required list.

ReplyDeleteI love books that involve pregnant women. They are always so funny and remind me of how crazy I know I was during my pregnancy. Thanks for the review and giveaway.
