Review and Giveaway: Devoured by Emily Snow

Synopsis

Sienna Jensen had no plans to return home when she graduated college last spring—after all, her dreams lie in California. But when she discovers her grandmother’s Nashville home has been foreclosed, and the new owner has started the eviction process, Sienna has no other choice but go back to Music City. And she comes face to face with the flawed, gorgeous man she never thought she’d see again. The man who now holds the deed to her grandma’s estate.

When millionaire rock star Lucas Wolfe finds the outspoken redhead glaring at him from across a courtroom, he’s both infuriated and intrigued. He still can't get the night Sienna almost spent with him out of his mind, and the chemistry between them is as undeniable as it was two years ago. He craves Sienna more than ever. And just like everything Lucas hungers for, he’s determined to have her.

Now, Lucas will do whatever it takes to lure Sienna into his bed, even if that means making a deal with her: ten days with him, playing by his rules, and he’ll hand over the deed to her grandmother’s home. Though she agrees to the arrangement, Sienna is conflicted. Because of her duty to her family. Because of promises she’s made to herself and a past that still haunts her. And as Lucas’s game of seduction continues, and Sienna is introduced to his dark, erotic world and even darker background, she realizes that at any moment, she could be devoured.

4 star review
Devoured is a wonderful escape from it all kind of book.  Sienna is a feisty girl overcoming obstacles and a complicated past.  Lucas Wolfe is the bad boy lead singer for Your Toxic Sequel, who enjoys a touch of spice in the bedroom (or any room for that matter). After a disastrous first encounter, fate decides their paths will cross again.  After agreeing to work for Lucas in order to help her grandmother (who raised her) Sienna tries her best to ignore Lucas' many advances.  But a bad boy will do his best to get his way!

“Do you really think I’m that classless to put a pole in my living room?” When he tilts my face up and I glare darkly at him, he grins. “On second thought, don’t answer that.”

Both have trust issues but there is no denying their connection.  Sienna’s brother Seth, is a huge let down to her when she really needs his help. Lucas’ sister Kylie takes care of his day to day activities and is going on vacation(she’s quite a character, I wouldn’t mind reading more about her). Sienna is offered the job of filling in as Lucas’ assistant while she is away.  The more time these two spend together, the stronger the emotional attraction between them becomes.  They are moving past a mere physical attraction and filling in the missing pieces of their souls. Not willingly, not without reserve, but slowly and tentatively, each surprised at how much they need the other.

Lucas is a man of secrets. Most involve his psycho ex-wife, Sam. Something exist, some hold this woman has over him that makes him do her bidding. And that in itself is the contradiction. Lucas is a man who dominates in the bedroom; he needs complete control over his playground. So why does he give up control over parts of his life while deferring to Sam? His ex becomes a problem for Sienna too, which has a domino effect between Sienna and Lucas. How can two people so in synch build a relationship built on a foundation of deception?

Snow has written a novel chock full of goodies; hot sex with a full on dom/sub relationship, suspense, humor, (Google’s your friend) and did I mention hot sex? I’m not a fan of cliffhangers, but this one begs for the sequel to be read.

Dear Lucas,

One of these days, you’re going to have to stand up for yourself. No matter what someone’s holding over your head.
