Giveaway and Review: His Wicked Games by Ember Casey
Trapped with a billionaire in his mysterious mansion... Can she beat him at his own game?
Lily would do anything to save the Frazer Center for the Arts—even take on the infamous billionaire Calder Cunningham.
The Cunninghams have long held a reputation for being eccentric—and secretive. When Lily breaks onto their estate, she only wants to find and reason with Calder. (All right, all right, she wants to punch him in the face, too, but that's Plan B.) The Cunningham family was the Frazer Center's largest benefactor for years—until Calder took over the family funds and broke the pledge contract without warning. Now the Center is on the brink of closing, and she's desperate to save the institution her father founded.
Calder is willing to consider her pleas—but for a price. Lily must indulge his whims, play along with his sexual games—all while confined to his mysterious mansion—or she'll never get the funds to save the Center. But there's more to the arrogant billionaire than meets the eye, and the longer they play cat and mouse, the more Lily begins to question her own feelings of hatred for the man.
4.5 star review by Guest Reviewer Alison East
I really loved this book. It reminded me of a kind of naughty cat and mouse game, with elements of Beauty and the Beast thrown in there. This story didn't beat around the bush. It is basically drama free for the most part and it had loads of humor. I was laughing a ton- as well as swooning at Calder! The characters that Ember has developed are awesome. Lily is a spunky heroine- I love her. She is going to do everything she can to save the Center she runs from closing.
Now there's Calder the hot billionaire who could very well be the answer to all of Lily's prayers. He
manipulates Lily into agreeing to some "bets" and he wins them all. I loved his wicked games! They had such chemistry, make your panties melt off chemistry!
"The passionate, dominant Calder I can handle”t he one who leaves bruises on my skin and shoves my shirt into my mouth to keep me silent” but I don't know how to deal with this gentler version of him. His hands move down across my skin slowly, delicately, as if I'm a precious, breakable thing that might shatter at his touch. Maybe this is just sex. And maybe I don't really know him all that well. But there's a part of me, deep down, that knows I've glimpsed a deeper side of him, however briefly, and I know I've exposed a bit of myself to him, too. And that terrifies me."
This book was like a roller coaster but I didn't want to get off of it. It had me on the edge of my seat the entire time. Thank God there is no cliffhanger, but a second book-yay! Look out for Ember Casey, she is a fantastic writer!!!
