This is my first book by Kindle Alexander and I have to say that I loved it!  I am a fan of the m/m genre especially when there is a beautiful and touching story behind it.  The Current Between Us had that and somore.  It is a sexy, hot and beautiful story with the right amount of drama and angst to keep you on the edge of your seat.  

Gage Synclair is a very famous photojournalist who is working on his final piece, and is also opening his own art galley.  Gage has always been busy traveling the world and never one to settle down.  He has had his share of one night stands but has never been in love, or even gone out on a date for that matter.   When he needs an electrician at the last minute for his new art gallery he meets the man that will change his life. The man that will capture his heart in ways he never thought possible.  That man is Trent Cooper.

Trent Cooper, for me personally, is all kinds of sexy.   He is a single father who stepped in 4 years ago to raise his sister's children after her death.  He has his own business and is just trying to take care of the two most important people in his life.  All though he has never hid his sexuality he generally never mixes business with pleasure.  He used to be the guy who had one night stands and never thought twice about being with someone.  But since his two children came into his life he has put that on hold to raise them.  He doesn't want to mix his personal life with is home life.  He has always managed to keep them separate, not wanting to get the kids too attached.  He has rules when it comes to dating, and when he meets Gage all those rules seem to fly right out the window.  

Trent has always been a big fan of Gage and his work.  When he meets him for the first time he can't help but being drawn to him like a magnet.  Gage is every bit as sexy as Trent thought he was. But being that Trent technically works for Gage, he knows that he needs to stay away.  But that is easier said than done, especially when the person you are trying to stay away from is constantly pursuing you and watching you, making it harder for you to stay away.  From the moment they first meet, Gage is drawn to Trent in ways he never thought possible.  There is no denying that these two have amazing chemistry, but if they both look deeper they realize it's more than just a physical attraction.  In the beginning Trent tries very hard to resist the feelings he has for Gage, but Gage, on the other hand is willing to embrace it and accept it.  When Trent is forced to take his kids to work with him one day, at the end of the day he finds himself on a "date" with Gage and his kids at McDonalds. This gives Gage the opportunity to see another side of Trent and to get to know the two important people in his life.  This moment is what really opens the door to their relationship. What they feel for each other is laid out on the table, and Trent finds himself wanting more from Gage and giving in to his feeling for this man.  

I loved this story and loved Gage and Trent together.  I will say that while I loved the both of them, in the beginning I had a soft spot for Trent.  Yes I know I am playing favorites here, but a single father taking care of two children and caring for them so deeply will melt my heart every time.  When Gage meets his children he instantly falls in love with them.  We are talking about a man whose sex life consisted of one night stands, some of which he may not even remember, and has never been one date.  And now he has found a man who has completely captured his heart, along with his children.  Trent has some of his own insecurities when it comes to his relationship with Gage that could get in the way.  They come from two totally different worlds.  Gage grew up in a world with money and fame and Trent is your average single father just trying to take care of his family.  Can Trent get past the insecurities and realize that Gage loves him and his children and wants nothing more than to be a family together?

I loved everything about this story.  Trent's kids were so adorable and the relationship that they had with him will melt your heart.  They had nothing but love for their daddy and wanted to see him happy.  Auntie Crazy was such a wonderful addition to the cast.  Everyone needs an Auntie Crazy in their life.  She was funny and maybe a little crazy, and outspoken, but she loved Trent like a brother and wanted to see him get the happiness he deserved.  And then of course Trent and Gage who we know I love.  And while their story may have been an instant love connection, it still felt real.  You felt the love and the connection that these two had for each other and you understood it.  This book will make you laugh, melt your heart and there are moments where you will cry.  The sex scenes between the two of them are HOT!  There is a twist towards the end that I never saw coming that is filled with suspense and angst, and keeps you on the edge of your seat wondering what will happen next. And then there is the end that had me in tears, and a smile on may face.  It was honestly a sweet and perfect ending to a wonderful story.  Kindle Alexander has created a cast of characters that you will fall in love with. This is Gage and Trent's love story but it is also a story about two families coming together.  An amazing job by Kindle Alexander and a must read!
