Review and Giveaway: Wrong Kind of Love by Amanda Heath

The first time I ever saw Caden Harper I’m pretty sure I fell in love. All that golden hair and pale blue eyes. He was mysterious and covered in paint. I found it endearing and wanted nothing more than to find out all his secrets. I gave that man things I would never give anyone else. He blew it though. Which I shouldn’t be surprised considering he is a womanizer.

So I moved on, well kind of. Jaden Harper wasn’t what I expected. I found myself drawn to him almost as much as his brother. Maybe it’s the fact they are twins or maybe it was the fact I wanted to live on the wrong side for once in my life.

Now I’ve found myself dug deep in this game. There's no end in sight and I wonder when all the lies I have told will come back to haunt me. Neither man should know the things I’ve gone through. Neither should trust me. I’m not who I say I am. My past is full of things I won’t ever share.

But where will that lead me when Caden wants nothing more than to consume me? He won’t wake up to see he has the wrong kind of love.

My Name is Grace Breadfield and this is my story.

Review 4 Star Review

Amanda Heath’s Wrong Kind of Love is part of the Young Love series. The first book was This Beautiful Thing, but WKOL can be read as a stand alone. Grace Breadfield is Teagan’s roommate from TBT. Teagan’s twin brothers, Caden and Jayden, could not be any different if they tried. Jaden is all about playing football and Caden is a player, just not on the football team. He loves women, rough play in bed and is a one and done kind of guy. Both know Grace through Teagan.

What no one knows is that Grace and her brother have assumed new identities. Through necessity, they have left their hometown and are hiding out from their mother’s husband a state senator. Grace had a warm relationship with Justin from back home, but left thinking he would be better off and safer without her drama. While Kyla *** her real identity is a fun loving partier, her alter ego, Grace is a bit more reserved and virginal. When she meets Caden at a party one night, Grace fades into the background and her real personality comes forward. The two share a steamy night of hot sex together, but agree to part ways as friends. Or that’s what they tell themselves. Seems Jaden wants to make a play for Grace and tension between the brothers reaches the boiling point.

This book has a parallel story line to the time line of This Beautiful Thing but this time the reader is given insight into Declan (Teagan’s boyfriend’s) POV. This added some clarification for his actions and what motivated him to close himself off after tragedy struck the couple.

Caden, in spite of his tattooed bad ass appearance, is actually a sensitive artist who yearns for love and acceptance. Jaden hides his own secret for why he desires Grace and can not make peace with his history. Grace is torn between loving both brothers and following her heart. Meanwhile her past will not stay back in her hometown and she and her brother face grave danger. Will she ever be able to love and have the life she desires?

I enjoyed this book, while I was familiar with most of them from TBT, I would have still been able to follow the story. At times Grace’s indecisiveness drove me nuts and I wanted to shake the hell out of her and force her to stop playing with the brothers’ emotions and make a decision. The epilogue nicely tied up all the loose ends. This is a nice easy read.
