Review by Amy Bustard

This is the first book in a new series; The Gaming Series. This was a very enjoyable read with a great foundation and story line. Strong Characters with Emotional Pasts, Secrets, Betrayal and Hidden Love!

Emilia “Mia” Strong is a hardcore Gaming blogger known as Girl Geek in the gaming community. She is also a virgin that doesn’t date and has no intentions on dating. Studying hard for her MCATS and struggling financially due to a dead beat sperm donor and her mother’s recent bout of cancer treatments and foreclosure notices on her mother’s home- Mia had created a plan to improve her finances; A Virgin’s Manifesto.  In many countries and cultures a woman’s purity holds financial value and Mia intends to cash in on her intact piece of skin of which is no value to her . She decides to auction her virginity off to the highest bidder. A Contract- ONE NIGHT- No future contact and the money to be deposited into an off shore bank account.

Mia discussed her Manifesto and the auction with her two of her friends, Heath (her best friend) and FallonOne (her online gaming friend), both who are unhappy with her decision.
Heath agrees to help her by screening the winner of the auction while FallonOne distances himself from Mia and doesn’t log on as much to play their favorite online game of Dragon Epoch- upset with Mia’s decision to go thru with the plan. Mia’s other friend believes it’s because FallonOne has feelings for Mia since they have a history of private chats and grew close over the time Mia’s mother was sick and she confided in him. Mia grew feelings for him as well but knows she can never give her heart to anyone. They would strictly remain online friends.

When the auction ends and the winner chosen, FallonOne tries to talk Mia out of going thru with it and their friendship is now put to the test because Mia refuses to back out. One Night-No future contact.

Adam Drake- The Auction Winner- CEO of Draco Multi-Media Entertainment and the creator of Mia’s favorite online game- Dragon Epoch- the one game that she blogged about weekly and played almost daily. Millionaire by the age of seventeen and an arrogant SOB..

When Mia meets Adam things don’t go well and he treats her rudely treating her as if she is a prostitute.

When Mia decides that she wants to back out of the arrangement with Adam he pursues her for more reasons than just her Manifesto. Sparks fly and things get heated but Adam continues to lead Mia on but not sleep with her dragging on the contract terms that the deal must be resolved within six months.

“This was you bidding on an auction for some unknown reason- an auction that you fundamentally cannot believe in. And then prolonging the outcome for as long as you can. You have manipulated this all along and now you are asking me to trust you? To listen to you? You should have let me go in the beginning so I could go through with this with someone else.”

“It’s not too late” he finally said.

When things get out of control and emotions start to get in the way, secrets and betrayals are revealed and Mia’s world starts to get turned upside down.

They say life’s experiences change you- that your brain grows neural pathways in response to trauma and new lessons learned. I wondered how many pathways I was going to get from this. If I was ever going to learn my way around it. And in this moment, I felt more resolved than ever to protect myself-keep myself dependent on only myself. Because I was the only person in this world I could be sure of. I could be sure of Heath, until he met someone new and could hardly be prevailed to fix my eternal string of scrapes. I could depend on my mom, but as the experiences of previous years had shown me, she might not always be around. Her near –death had shaken me to my core and showed me that nothing was permanent.

Mia must decide what to do? Will Adam follow thru with the arrangement and pay her the amount that they agreed upon? What will become of Mia and Adam? Will she still have FallonOne as a friend once the manifesto is fulfilled? Will she be able to save her mother’s home?

I can’t wait till the next book! I really enjoyed the characters of this story and there wasn’t a cliffhanger at the end; however you will still want more to this series!!!
