Review and Giveaway: The Fine Line by Alicia Kobishop

High school senior Liv Evans has one rule: No attachments. She’s lost enough in her life and has vowed to do whatever it takes to make sure she never again feels the emptiness of losing someone she loves. Boys are a fun distraction, but a serious relationship is something she’d rather live without. Her determination for a future free of pain and heartbreak is put to the test when she meets–and quickly forms an unexpected bond–with Logan Tanner.

Logan has always been a free spirit, but ever since a life-changing event took place, which left him doubting the integrity of those who are closest to him, he’s taken that term to a whole new dangerous level. Learning the hard way that life is too short for worries or work–and that women can’t be trusted–Logan has exchanged steady work for street racing. When Liv walks into his world, everything he thought he knew about life and women is challenged.

In The Fine Line, Liv and Logan will discover if it’s possible for true love to have a future, or if history is destined to repeat itself.

4 Star Review by Jen Skewes

Olivia Evans is not one to do relationships or become attached to any guy.  Her father left her and her mother when she was little.  Her mother had boyfriends through the years that she became attached too and loved.  But it always ended the same way, they either left by choice or they passed away.  Liv is afraid of opening up her heart to anyone for fear of them leaving.  Because in her mind, nothing lasts forever and someone always leaves.  She meets Logan one night at a concert and there is this instant spark between the two of them.  But Logan and Liv cannot be anything more than friends.

Logan is sexy and sweet and races cars.  He is the one person that everyone wants to race and try to beat, but he always wins in the end.  He quickly forms a friendship with Liv and she in a way becomes his lucky flag girl when he races.  Logan has some issues of his own since losing his father, whom he loved and looked up to.  He is not one for relationships either, basically throwing himself into his work and racing.  But things with Liv are different.  He starts having feelings for her that go beyond friendship.  He wants more, but giving more is not something that Liv is willing to give.  Not with Logan or anyone for that matter.  But Logan is not giving up.  He loves her and he knows how much they belong together and how good they are together.  But every time they seem to get close Liv pushes him away again.  There is this push and pull between the two of them that happens time and time again.  Will Logan be able to convince Liv to take a chance on love and on him?

I am going to start by saying how much I adored Logan.  He was so sweet and you could see how much he loved and cared for Liv.  He never gave up on his love for her.  As many times as she frustrated him and pushed him away, he never gave up.  And believe me she was frustrating.  There were times where I wanted to just slap her and tell her to open her eyes and see what was right in front of her.  She has this amazing man who loved her and would do anything to be with her.  As frustrating as she was I understood her abandonment issues completely.  I just think that  she needed to push that all aside and just live in the moment.  She needed to look beyond the past and see what was right in front of her.  A future with an amazing man!!  Don't get me wrong I really liked Liv a lot and I believe that she loved Logan, but she was just afraid to admit it.  Logan meant something to her and the thought of crossing that line of friendship scared her.  She was afraid of losing what she had with him.

Overall I loved this book.  It was filled with drama and angst.  All though I would have to say a lot of the drama and angst was caused by the two of them and Liv's ability to constantly push Logan away.  It was that back of forth angst of will they be together to will they lose each other.  And there were a few moments where I got those dam knots in my stomach and was wishing that everything that appeared to be happening wasn't. I loved this book and all the drama and angst that came with it.  When Liv and Logan are together they are amazing and fun and perfect for each other.  Great job by Ms. Kobishop.
