Review: Addison Moore's Burning Through Gravity

BURNING THROUGH GRAVITY—they soared so high so fast they never expected the fall.

Two beautiful souls.
Two seemingly innocent deceptions.

Once they meet, Stevie and Ford explode into one another in a ball of lust, hotter than a July moon. Ford is assertive, dominate and in control, that is until Stevie brings him to his knees. He thinks she’s the most beautiful woman he’s ever met both inside and out. Stevie thinks he’s sweet, and sort of goofy—of course it doesn’t hurt that he drips sex like honey.

Stevie is starting to fall hard for Ford.
And Ford is all in with Stevie.
She wonders if he could ever forgive her for what she’s about to do.
She wonders if she wants him to.

They say love conquers all.
But love never met two liars like Stevie and Ford.

His lie cost her a few sleepless nights.
Her lie will cost him everything.

4 Well Deserved Stars!

Review by Lisa Kane

Stevie Eaton craves love, specifically love from her father, Hans Lionheart. He is the mogul with the Midas touch that owns Merlin, a social network division of his larger corporation. Stevie is his illegitimate daughter, the offspring from one of his many affairs. She has two older step siblings, Lincoln and Kensley and a sister, also illegitimate, Aspen. As much as she wishes it weren't true, she wishes he showed her the same attention as his legitimate children, but he is a cold ruthless man.

She wasn't always interested in her father's affections. But when her soul mate, her twin sister Claire died from cancer, it gutted Stevie and left her anchorless. She wants nothing more than to fade away and to reunite with her sister, but she also promised her sister she would live her life for her, for the life that Claire would never have a chance to live. Stevie knows she wears her grief like a familiar cloak around her, she wallows in it, and takes comfort in the hurt. So she struggles every day.

She's a student at Rigby University and plans on interning at Merlin. She has been studying up so she will be well prepared. But the best laid plans are often thwarted and Stevie is assigned to Jinx, the social network company that is kicking ass right now. When she calls her father, hoping he will get her assigned to his company, he tells he this will work out even better as he has his eye on Jinx and wants her to uncover everything she can find out about the company.

At a party at her father's villa, she meets a gorgeous, witty man named Ford. She assumes he is one of the valet drivers and he doesn't dissuade her from that assumption. They give in to their immediate attraction, she goes home with him to an opulent mansion, (owned by his brother) and the two spend the night together. Only one night turns into several, as they slowly learn about each other and realized they have more than just sexual chemistry going on. But all good things must end, and Stevie leaves to start her first day at Jinx.

Imagine her surprise when one of the wonder Cannon men who owns the company is Crawford "Ford" Cannon. Her Ford, the man she thought had a simple job, the same one who deceived her about who he is. That fact alone would be enough to send her temper off into space, but add that to the fact that his assistant, introduced as Evelyn, is hanging all over him. He can't believe his eyes and he looks for every opportunity to try to talk to her, to explain. He wanted her to want him for himself, not the billionaire genius behind this high tech company.

Stevie doesn't forgive easily, but she fell hard for Ford. The fact that she is going to be virtually spying on his company, looking for weaknesses. so her father can stage a take over makes her feel guilty as hell. But this is the first time that her father has ever shown any interest in her, and she doesn't want to disappoint him.

Evelyn, has deep dark secrets, and she and Ford share a very long complicated relationship. Stevie may be the focus of Ford's attention right now, but Evelyn is going to make sure that the spotlight is back on her. This is where Ford needed to be kneed in his gonads as far as I am concerned. Why for the love of God, do these men always fall into traps set by these she devils at the expense of the heroine? These men are always good guys making BAD decisions and they frustrate the hell out of me!

When Ford learns about Stevie's real reason for being at Jinx will he forgive her? Will Stevie take everything from Ford and leave him empty and hopeless? What happens when Stevie learns the truth about Evelyn? Can Stevie and Ford move past all the lies and half truths? Can love really overcome so many obstacles?

This one has heart break and deception and frustration in buckets! But I really enjoyed it and well worth the read!
