Blog Tour: Blyss by JC Cliff

Book Details:
Title:  Blyss (The Blyss Trilogy Book #1)
Author:   J.C. Cliff
Genre:   Contemporary Romance
Release Day:  September 16, 2014

Synopsis:
HAVE YOU EVER HEARD OF SUCH A GENRE—THE LIGHTER SIDE OF DARK?
Everyone will have their own definition of "Dark" vs. "Contemporary", and perhaps there is a mixture of the two. I like to call this the “Grey” genre.
However, there is one thing for certain; you haven't ever read this type of story before. Blyss is an original, one of a kind storyline in theme, circumstance, and character action.
You will definitely need all three books in order to put together the pieces of this puzzle, but isn't that what makes reading fun? Book one sets the stage while you begin to embrace the thrill, the suspense, and the anticipation. There is a romance story amongst all the turmoil…you will just have to hang on for the ride.

*~*~*~*

CONTEMPORARY ROMANCE (with dark moments)

Blyss is something the world has been trying to create since the beginning of time, the ultimate aphrodisiac. A drug that's used against women with one single purpose in mind….

Julianna Oakley has just finished up her junior year at college and flies home to spend her last free summer with her father on their prestigious Georgia estate. Julianna isn't your typical spoiled, rich girl, prima donna. She's down to earth and has an independent streak a mile wide, insisting she make her own way in this world.

Nick has been setting the stage for a long time, and sparks fly when their separate worlds collide. She is Nicks' ultimate obsession, and he will stop at nothing to own her.
When Travis, Nick's right hand man, lays his eyes on the prize all hell is about to break loose.

Travis should know Nick is playing for keeps, and while Julianna is fighting for her freedom, a lifetime full of secrets and twisted perceptions slowly unravel as Julianna gets caught in the fray.

4 Star Review by Jen Hagen

Julianna is 2 weeks away from her 21st birthday and is spending her summer break from college at home at the insistence of her father – which should be a clue that something is amiss as her father normally has nothing to do with her.  Julianna’s mother passed away when Julianna was almost 2 years old and has left Julianna’s upbringing to boarding schools. Julianna has a wonderful fiancĂ©e, Adam, who has treated her with white gloves as if she is a princess.  Julianna is still a virgin and Adam has never once expected that she give it to him before she’s ready – she’s saving it for their wedding night.   One evening Julianna hears voices coming from her father’s office and her life is about to change…

I am witnessing the calm before the storm.  I can feel it in the air; some serious shit is about to unfold, and I can do at the moment is try to catch my breath.

Julianna finds herself immersed in a totally new world of sexual desire – something that is completely new to her.  One could say she is in a constant state of bliss and arousal.  The subject of her sexual desire is Travis.  He makes her feel things sexually that she has never before experienced or wanted.  Travis is a professional when it comes to his job.  He takes his “personal training” very seriously.

This line of work is cutthroat.  If one didn’t stay on their toes and watch their back at every turn, they would find themselves six-feet-under in the blink of an eye.

Travis is very handsome and his eyes are so expressive;  everything he doesn’t speak is conveyed through his eyes.  Travis is also a little secretive when it comes to his past.

There was static electricity that existed between us, and it could not be denied.  I had only felt that once before in my entire life, and I can’t afford to ever entertain that feeling of connection with another ever again.  I won’t allow it; there is too much at stake now.

There is another reason why Travis has to hold himself back from acting out his sexual desires for Julianna.  Travis is in business with his partner, Nick, and Nick has had an unhealthy obsession with Julianna for a very long time.

“You’re my forever.  I’ve wanted you from the first moment I laid eyes on you.  I’ve been watching your every move for years, stragetically planning.”

Well that certainly sounds a little borderline crazy with a bit of stalker thrown in.  Julianna is contradicted by her feelings for Travis and her love for Adam. She tries to fight off the explicit desire for Travis, but for some reason she just can’t shake it.  Julianna doesn’t know what to believe when it comes to Travis…does he feel the electricity between the two of them like she does or is he manipulating her as part of his job?

“I’m about to make you feel things you never knew existed, and I can’t wait to see you writhing under my touch as I give you pleasure.”

This is the first in the trilogy and although initially I was a little skeptical with the storyline, the further I became invested into it the more engrossed I became.  It is a unique storyline and holy macaroni is Travis hot.  He can use his body weight to hold me down until I’m complacent at any time…and that part in the story is H O T.

I’ll never be done trying to escape. You have no right to do this to me,” I hiss.
He begins stalking toward me, and I find myself shrinking away from his advancing form; so much for renewed determination. With my back pressed into the wall, I try my damnedest to meld into it, to disappear, but it doesn’t work. I start sliding my body along the wall to try to escape him, until he has me caught in the corner. My heart begins to pound loudly against my breast bone. He’s taunting me with his dominating power as he slowly trails me; his eyes portray a hungry wolf getting ready to devour his trapped prey.
Even if you thought you could escape, which you can’t, we have cameras in every place imaginable,” he states matter-of-factly. “We’re so good; we can hear you devising a plan before you can even act on it.”
I blink hard, shaking myself from the shock, and start running scenarios through my mind of where they would hide cameras. I gasp, horrified to think...no...I shake my head and whisper with incredulity, “You guys watch me use the bathroom?”
Travis chuckles, finding my mortification amusing, and lifts a brow. “I did say everywhere, sweetheart.” He then takes another step towards me, and I can do nothing at this point. Being pinned in the corner, with my back to the wall, I’m a helpless victim. My heart sinks to my toes as I slide my body down the wall and curl myself into a tiny ball, trying to feel safe. The fear I feel has me losing my breath, and the moment my bottom comes into contact with the cold tile floor, I hug my knees to my chest. It’s my only defense at this point.
