Review: Everything I Want by Natalie Barnes

"I can’t freaking believe this! Me, Sophia Mancini, and my band just got signed with a major recording label! And that’s not all. We get to open for Undead Society on tour! I’ve always had a thing for their lead singer, Tristan Scott. He’s dangerously sexy. Finally meeting him, I soon realize that Tristan is nothing more than an arrogant, conceited prick!

He gets off on making this tour difficult for me as much as possible. But it’s so worth putting up with his arrogance when I feel that high I get when performing. Not even Tristan can take that away from me.

He intimidates and excites me all at the same time. Trying to put up a front that he doesn’t affect me, I find that it’s getting incredibly harder to pretend. Every time that I’m around him, I feel myself weakening. He’s trying to break me, dominate me, and take me."

4 Stars!

Sophia Mancini is the lead singer for Dollar Settlement. Her band is on the edge of stardom. They've been picked up by a label and Lux is the guy from the record company managing their first tour. They will be opening up for Undead Society, one of the biggest bands out there. Their lead singer is Tristan Scott and he's a real piece of work. From their first encounter he gives Sophia a hard time. It's unclear if he wants her or for some reason despises her. Sophia is hot and gorgeous and very talented. Each show they play her band gets better and more well known. And the sparks between Tristan and her continue to fly.

The guys in her band have her back but there is trouble from within. Matt and Roger are the usual manwhores who drink too much, but they are harmless. Cory is the one who has demons that are winning. His substance abuse is leading him to ramp up his tolerance for drugs and he is playing a dangerous game. Their dreams are within reach but at what price?

Sophia parties hard after each show and things between her and Tristan heat up. Lines are crossed, temptation calls and they are helpless to resist. This 8 week tour is proving to be interesting! Throw in a gay, fantastic wardrobe stylist, Frankie, who has Sophia's interest at heart and transform her into a temptress night after night. How can Tristan resist? But what happens after the tour is over?

Everything I Want has drama and angst and plenty of steam! A couple of things bothered me about this one though, For one, Sophia drinks way too much, makes stupid mistakes over and over. The continual unprotected sex bothered me to distraction. Tristan mentions that he has only had sex without a condom with one other person in his life. But never expands on that, or says who it was with or when it happened. Sophia becomes close to Frankie, he is the person she trusts with her secrets and worries, but when there is a tragedy at the end of the story, he's no where to be found. Tristan is a strong alpha but the way he talks to Sophia during sex is a huge turn off,

He leans down and whispers on my lips. "Don't!" Then he kisses me briefly before softly growling at me again. "I didn't say you could do that." Huh? Okay my spinning head is a little confused right now.

"What the he-He crashes his entire body onto mine, stopping me dead in my tracks. He rips away from me, with a carnal look in his eyes he growls, "Shut up! Just shut the fuck up."

This seems to turn  Sophia on, more so than thinking he's acting like an arrogant douche. But she is an edgy chick so I can see what I might prefer, would bore her to tears. Tristan would be hard to say No to and why would you want to anyway?

Things really spiral out of control at the end and Everything I Want ends on a cliffy. Everything I Need releases shortly and I would love to see how things play out with Tristan and Sophia.
